Being an owner of a Ranger 800 for 8 years, as well as an ace 300 for 4 years and a razor 900 for 2 years, plus a former sportsman 250 owner for several years, I can readily agree, so long as you use them as intended or even a little rougher than intended, they remain reliable and serviceable. Polaris is quality in my book!

2500 miles on my '18 and has been reliable so far...more so than my 1000XP. It goes everywhere.... sand dunes, winter snow plowing, and 100 mile trail rides and not one issue. Replaced the belt at 1500 miles and it still looked new. I appreciate a video like this and you hit the nail on the head. Dirt Trax is one of my favorite channels and I'm always interested in your videos even when they aren't about a machine I own.

I have a 2019 sportsman 570 and I’ve put 1300 miles on it already and i weigh 270 pounds so it’s pulling a big guy lol and I’ve had zero issues. That’s all trail miles up and down hills. No belt change no belt slip I’ve done regular fluid changes and just rode it. Now with that being said you can get a bad ATV no matter who makes it because people build atvs and people aren’t perfect that’s just the way it is lol

Thanks luke & dirt trax for all your hard work and dedication. Luke i really appreciate you addressing the negative comments about unreliable polaris atv's made by people on the internet. Its irritating when somebody's atv breaks down and then try discouraging potential buyers to avoid a particular make and model. I'm an hvac technician by trade with a lot of mechanical experience. I cannot emphasize and stress enough about the importance of doing proper routine maintenance, dealer servicing, recall notices, inspections, fluid checks and changes etc. Also proper engine warm up and break in need to be followed. Modifying an engineered factory built machine or mis wiring something is guaranteed to give you mechanical trouble, fire hazzard and even potential risk of injury or death. Like you said atvs demand respect and use them for what they are intended for. We have had 9 polaris snowmobiles since 1990 and all have proven to be reliable if they are taken care of. Polaris would never put prostar motors in their atv's if they were junk and their approach to snowmobiling and off road is VERY serious and look forward to enjoy many more years of their recreational vehicles. I have chosen to get a sportsman 570 trail edition for my first atv. I enjoyed and learned from your reviews. Thanks again. See you on the snow. Be safe.

I have 3 buddies that have 570’s and all of them love their machines. 1 guy takes great care of his (washing it a lot ) and has had no issues. The other 2 beat the brakes off theirs, and only problem was overheating. Which was completely their fault for not washing them after a weekend of crazy mud riding in northern Michigan, mud was packed in the radiators and everywhere it shouldn’t be. After a bath back to flawless. Great platform. And you guys rock, as always great content. Would love a little more sport quad stuff, but hard when Yamaha is the only one in the game.

Rode a Polaris 500 a lot best ride of them all as far as I’m concerned, and I owned Honda for years, rode Yamaha and Kawasaki as well so I can compare, the only thing I didn’t like about the Polaris that I owned was the long shifter sticking out the side, bought a Can am maverick so me and the girlfriend can ride together, still considering buying a atv for myself to just go ride sometimes, always watch your videos to see your input on atvs still undecided at this point, looking forward to seeing more reviews

I’ve owned my 2012 sportsman 850 HO XP, since it came off the showroom floor. Several thousand miles later, and I’ve had zero issues. Thank you for saying something about belts. When I got mine, all my riding partners said the same thing, “Polaris, hope you bought a few belts”. In 8 years, I’ve changed 1 belt. And, the original is my only spare. All I did was follow what the owners manual suggested, and did a proper break in cycle, annual cleaning of the clutch, and stayed in low if I was towing/operating at low speeds for extended periods. Another great video, stay safe and healthy!

full disclosure i sell these machines and some may accuse me of a bias but they would be wrong! I am rather opinionated and i tell you this machine has proven its worth! Getting that out of the way you wont find a better 4wd system than Polaris for ease of use and reliable capable terrain management. You won't find a better standard suspension with ride comparison. now lets talk performance and a beautiful feeling Power Steering win Polaris, now lets talk dealer support everywhere and parts, win Polaris, now lets talk social support and with so many Polaris owners on the trails help is common place. With all that great stuff said I prefer Honda or all Japanese for raising the bar on long term overall reliability along with lower cost of ownership not to mention resale value. I am a practical guy and its the bare bones that gets me. Buy with confidence and with all the advantages you cant miss with any mainstream choice.

We bought a 2020 570 premium for my wife. She used to ride a 2010 Canam 650 we still own it and it feels ok and is still in good shape. Back to back we would ride the Polaris first any time before the 650. Smooth engine, the clutching is so perfect. 35hrs the throttle cable stretched and set a light occasionally. It took me under 5 min to set the cable freeplay. I ride a dirt bike and she just rips the trails on the 570 and can keep up pretty good. She just loves her new ride in a sweet orange copper colour.

I love the ride and handling of my 2007 sportsman 500 efi . I dont see an issue with the belt , i have pulled several times fully loaded cube vans into my shop on snow and ice , I have dragged a moose through swamp and brush and also loaded a 125lbs deer on the front rack . My only problem is electronics why should a fuel guage and a faulty power module .Why cant they put a fuse box instead. I only have 1200 on the odometer 700 of that was done last winter trail riding . a new 570 sounds interesting and yes if you sell more you will have more with problems its like that in the auto industry.

I have a 2017 570 I bought brand new. I’ve added 1” wheel spacers, 27” Zillas, snorkel kit, led lights, and back storage box. I didn’t buy it to mud- I have 3 creeks and a few marshes on my land I have to get through and as remote as it is I can’t afford to get stuck. Which brings me to my only complaint and that is the belt slipping when wet- hence the snorkel kit. Had it sealed as well but water never gets to the seat. In retrospect I probably should have gone with Honda to deal with the water BUT brand new off the showroom floor I got it for $4350 US. With my upgrades I’m at less than 5k for a great riding, reliable, comfortable, powerful atv. Bought it first quarter 2018. Value out of this world. Great channel keep up the awesome work!

If you're burning belts, you're not driving correctly. Period. It is you, not the machine. As a group, we have thousands of miles on Polaris ATVs and SxSs. Everything from rock crawling, mud holes, and high speed gravel and woods trails. Spring, summer, fall, winter. We run them HARD. 70+mph through the woods. We have never had a single belt failure. I have ~1400 miles on my factory belt right now. Never had a major mechanical failure. Occasional small issues, nothing that left anyone stranded. The Hondas can't even come close to keeping up. The top speed of a rancher is what, like 55mph? The Polaris XP series easily does 70mph. My RZR is governed at 80mph. Not even in the same category.

I absolutely agree on the belts and agree the Honda’s are slow. That being said, I have 2 ranchers and a sportsman 500. The sportsman will be a pile of parts while the Honda’s are still running 10-20 years down the road. I have no interest in going 70 in the woods. I think the main point is Polaris people say Honda’s suck because they’re slow and Honda people say Polaris suck because of the belts and quality, but both are good ways to have fun and people need to concentrate on what they like over crapping on other peoples preferences.

I think that a proper break-in is the most important aspect of owning an ATV that would insure future reliability. After I got my 2017 renegade xmr 570 I only used the econo key to ensure no speeds over 70 Kph for the first 200 Km then used the performance key so I could gradually increase the top speed runs and have never had a problem with over 3000 Km on it now. No burnt belts, starts and runs beautifully

I've owned a few different polaris' over the years and I agree with you on the belt issue. I use low range when I need it and have only changed 1 belt in thousands of miles but I do disagree with dependability. It's the dumb stuff that I'll never understand with polaris engineers. Wiring issues, heat issues, fuel air ratios, and a plastic sprague carrier in a hillard differential. Great line-up, probably the best on the market, but fix the little things so a guy doesn't feel bad spending $10000 on a toy. Great video even though we might disagree. Keep on riding and stay safe.

He loves it and I have zero complaints. I feel I own 2 very high quality machines and look forward to adding to the fleet. The Polaris 570 will definitely be on the wish list.

Being new to ATV world, we purchased 2 570 EFI last year. They are fantastic machines. We are seniors and love the outdoors, and these two gems extended our outdoor activities by another 4-7 years. My wife and I have been on a couple of Poker Runs, well, with little knowledge of the type of trails or terrain, these guys more than filled the bill. You'd be hard pressed to get these away from us, so its no surprise the new models are even better. thanks Luke for your good honest reviews.

I’ve got a Polaris 550 sportsman in the shed, done over 35,000kms now, I’ve just started stripping it down for the full birthday overhaul. All new everything coming it’s way. We put a deer rack on the front, storage box and led light bar, that baby gets 3 grown men and has had 4-5 deer on the rack up and out of the back country home to the ute and trailer. I honestly couldn’t recommend these bikes more!

I have a 14 550 esp. Its been a good machine. Had the same tires and they worked fine until I cut a front tire. Replaced them with the kenda Bear Claws . The machine is nearly unstoppable with those. Enjoy your videos, positive and unbiased yet you do point out short comings.

I bought my first sportsman 570 EPS Touring Edition in 2019. Absolutely love it. I’ve got 975 miles on it and have not had one issue. The first thing I bought was the Polaris pro 3500 lb winch with rapid recovery. I’m a huge fan of the way Polaris makes accessories that plug in makes it very easy for the diy rider. I ride it very hard topping out at 70 mph. Of course that’s when the wife, my primary passenger stays at the house. The only negative so far is that Polaris does not make a rigid cargo box for the 570. If you ain’t got one, get one you’ll love it...Love the Dirt Trax team providing us with honest reviews. Keep up the great work.

I have a 2019 570 sportsman and absolutely love it. A friend of mine bought one on my recommendation and we both have nothing but good things to say about them. I have owned several different brands of quads over the years and wished I bought a sportsman sooner. Definitely a great machine.

Great review as always Luke, I have a 2014 Sportsman 570 and give it hell every time I can. It has many upgrades including bigger/wider tires/wheels and a QSC clutch kit, this thing wheelies on command anywhere below 30 km/h. Wish I had a bigger machine but this thing packs a real punch for its engine size, you are correct about the competition- I've left bigger CC machines in the dust a few times before. Had Polaris ATVs and snowmobiles most of my life, I'm very satisfied with their products. Love your show as well, I was probably one of your early fans back in the day. Keep up the great work guys!

Thanks so much for your assessment. Our Polaris machines are going on eight years old, and we've had nothing but good luck with them. That being said, we treat them right, and take very good care of them. I thoroughly enjoy Dirt Trax's reviews and videos. I feel that they do an outstanding providing their honest opinion while being entertaining at the same time. I'm so jealous of the job that you do. Excellent review. I just bought a new quad to replace my 2003 Grizzly. A bought another one, 2021 Grizzly 700. I excluded the Polaris line on spec because of my belief that they were of lessor reliability and qualify. Your review made me rethink my position and that is the essence of any review. Your passion for Polaris’ product presented without bias is admirable and I respect that.

I just signed the paperwork today for a 570 Touring. I'll pick it up in about a week after the goodies get installed. I was given a Polaris for Christmas. My wife's Step dad had one in the garage forever. It's a 1996 Polaris Trailblazer 250 and runs like a scalded dog. It's really a lot of fun for a powerful smaller bike. Anyway, it's a 1996! So much for the durable argument.

Your not going 70 in the trails.. There hasn’t been a hill I couldn’t climb yet.. AWD is great smooth transition.. Great ATV!

I have a 2015 570 the only issue that has come up was the machine cutting off mid ride. After some trouble shooting I found the key had a key tag hanging off of it that would get hung up near the gas cap. Coupled with the power steering, it would turn the key just enough to shut off. The video shows the exact same setup. Love the show keep up the good work.

That was my comment exactly. Polaris sells more atvs than the next 3 top competitors combined. Of course you are going to hear of more problems than the others! I have a '16 xp 1000, an '18 850sp and an '18 570 eps. Other than maintenance items, all 3 have been bullet proof! And we put on lots of miles. Couldn't be happier with Polaris.
