I did not mark an "x" on my spider primary cover - (the cover with the 6 bolts that hold it to the primary.) when uninstalling and now I do not want to install again until I know the right orientation. Anyway you can show me the right orientation?

On the primary all you can do is match your marks or on mpst models there is an X stamped on the spider. Not all of the cover plates have an X but if they do make sure to line of the "x"'s. If your cover plate doesn't have an X then usually the X is wherer the part number is engraved on the clutch.

Great video. But I'm curious, is there a reason to remove and clean/inspect the clutch? I realize it's a good idea but how often is it necessary?

On the Turbo they are really known for wearing out the primary clutch. The more often you can blow them out and clean any clutch the more life and performance you will get out of it. On the turbo you want to look for button wear and make sure the clutch isn't binding up. Normally you will start to notice that the rpms are higher then normal and the top speed is lower then normal. So even if you just pull the clutch cover off and blow it out good that will help you a lot in the long run.

@@EPIperformance, When I took my primary off, my screws to hold in the rollers were all loose. Is that normal or should they be tight where they should not move?

@@knockoutchamp5679 Im not sure which bolts in the primary you are asking about. There are six bolts that hold the cover plate and spring one and those should always be tight. There also three bolts that hold the weights into the clutch, these will have a nut on them that should be tight. On most models with the nut tight the bolt will still rotate and might even slide a little from side to side. Those are the only bolts in the primary, hope that helps. Thanks

@@EPIperformance, Yes those 3 blots are the bolts that I'm talking about. Mine move alot. Plus my rpms are high and I can't get over 60 without machine cutting out and over revving. Belt recently broke while I was running 95mph. Belt shredded and exploded. Just put new Evo bad ass best in the world belt and now I can't get pass 60mph

@@knockoutchamp5679 You might have the wrong belt, I would double check the numbers on the actual belt. A lot of times the primary clutch either gets worn or dirty and it will bind up and not shift out. Then your rpms go up and your speed will continue to get slower and slower. Its was a common problem on the turbo clutches. inspect your sliders in the clutch. Also look and make sure there isn't a piece of rubber or cord from the belt stuck somewhere binding it up.

That clutch is stuck and you did not show what you did to get it off. There is an obvious edit there and then it is magically loose!

Yes they did edit it to shorten the video time some. But we would have used the same process as a few seconds earlier in the video where you tighten the puller and then if needed use a hammer and lightly tap square on the end of the clutch puller and it should pop off. If it doesn't you can try tightening the puller a little more and repeat the process. If it for sure doesn't come off then there are a couple other options to get the clutch off. The next one we would use is to remove the clutch puller and take a grease gun and pump a little grease into the clutch and then tighten puller and do the same process. With the grease it acts like a hydraulic and will help pull it off. But then it takes a little while to clean up all the grease. Hope that helps.

Thanks, I bent a pulled on my new XPT and still could not get it off. Tried everything but the grease trick. I was only wanting to pull it to check the inside cover bolts for tightness.
