POLARIS “FATALISM” album interview | with Dan, Jamie & Rick
Nath & Johnny sit down with Dan, Jamie & Rick from POLARIS to discuss the release of their new album FATALISM (out now)
The boys talk about the song writing process, what songs they look forward to playing live most, the progression in sound, and the emotional toll of releasing an album whilst still grieving.
We want to give a huge shoutout to the boys for being so welcoming, and taking so much time out to chat with us.
Go listen to the album now!

Haha Thankyou!
This is honestly my favourite interview just 5 dude's talking and having a blast huge respect to the boys talking about ryan cant wait to listen to the album!
Such a great chat. Huge respect for Jamie, Dan, Jake, and Rick for giving themselves the grace to be happy and excited for everything they’ve created. Huge reminder too of the emotional labour we ask of them at times, Dan said it perfectly - “it’s taxing.” The Melbourne show next week will be huge. Thanks for sharing N + J.

@@retardedcheesewheel2921 Honestly one of the best nights of my existence 🫶🏼 Glad you got to experience it also.
Can confirm I have witnessed Jamie jamming in his car when I pulled up next to him at the lights.
I’ve only just gotten in to these guys off of the back of their latest album, but what an incredible album it is. R.I.P. Ryan Siew. What a talent.
This was a fucking fantastic interview. I didn’t want it to end tbh, I was engaged the entire time. I really respect how much thought these guys put into their music, I just listened to the new album and it’s a whole journey. Also Sonder is one of my all time favourite songs!

Sonder is such a banger. The last half of that song gives me chills every time.
I gotta say, I FUCKING LOVE THE CLASSIC AUSSIE VIBE, all the Aussies know what it’s like sitting in that exact setting. Loved the album boys 🤘
I absolutely love interviews like this, just 5 dudes talking and having a good time. Keen to see more! Also shout out to the legendary glass table
Love these interviews so much. I love how you guys have genuine conversations. And you can see that. Polaris are such good guys and I am excited to hear this album and see them live. These guys deserve nothing but love. ❤
I'm pretty sure every Aussie has owned a table like this at some point in their life XD Love the interview lads. Was super cool to hear you guys go in depth on All In Vain; an album closer that knows how to absolutely bring it (my personal favourite on the record)
Great interview!!RIP Ryan!!
I work nights and I can’t wait to jam this a work, I’ve been waiting months!!!!!
Absolutely amazing interview! Love how genuine everyone here is and so excited about the album!! Side note: just about fell out my chair at the mention of slow decay
I have to agree with Johnny, All in Vein NEEDS TO BE IN THE LIVE SET. In fact, I'd argue it would be an insane track to open the show with.
Awesome interview. Thank you so much for this guys. One of the chillest most interesting band interviews ive seen in a while.
Best polaris chat so far
Iconic Australian table to sit around 🤝
Great chat legends! Can't wait to see the lads live in a few weeks
Loved this. Looking forward to the rest of it when it gets released
watched from start to finish, loved the video guys! im american so i still have about 3 and a half hours until the album comes out for me but i can't wait to listen and then come back to hear what the boys said about certain songs lol. much love from NY
I hope yall have fun in Worcester, MA next month. Us fans are ready to throw down with you!
Now that I’ve listened to the album in full, it’s great as a new fan. Gonna give myself 3-5 more listens in full before I make my decision, but I grooved and enjoyed it. And props to you guys for making this interview feel like mates sitting around the table, just having a drink.
Really looking forward to the album, probably going to order a CD once I give it a listen!
With regards is very very special, the whole album is but damn, there isn't a single skip, intro or otherwise (looking at you samsara). Love to all of you, 5 phenomenal human beings, just wish Jake had been here too and of course the man of the hour, Ryan 🖤🤍🖤🤍 We make room for the pain and we carry them in our chest, always.
Watching this interview after seeing them live in adelaide is just a treat. God the show was an emotional roller coaster. Now hearing the thought processes now those emotions have settled is just fantastic. Thanks Nath and Johnny boy (also 3 questions at once ffs mate 😂)
fuuuck me this is the most aussie interview ive ever seen in my life.that bloody classic mitre10,bachelor pad outdoor setting xD well done lads this is all kinds of awesome
Fkn pumped already, bois Edit - finally got to watch this, and as soon as I saw that glass table on the back patio, knew it was gonna be a banger

Every Aussie has had a drunk af convo around one of these table 😂 so relatable
10/10 album 🖤🖤
Parasites, Frailty and Hypermania are 3 of like my top 5 favorite songs from Polaris, so thank you Rick lol.
34:49 then 36:29 then 38:32 is the difference between an australian interview 😂😂
Yeah the Hard Solo!!!
Its really promising to hear them talking about "the next album we write". Obviously in their own time and when theyre ready, but I was worried Ryan passing would mean the end for this band. I imagine it would be quite similar to Architects when they lost Tom, and a sense of "we won't release anything unless Ryan would be proud of it".
Крутые чуваки

We don’t do Ambon reactions sorry, they take too long and we’ve had the album for weeks so it wouldn’t be a first reaction
