Why? Both countries geostrategicaly present no strategic benefit for US. They dont contribute to US security but their long standing historical beef with their neighbours can implicate US in wars they don't need to fight.

wow i truly envy the country of Poland for having the U.S made M1A1 "Abram" MBT and the South Korean built K2 "Black Panther" MBT, in there armed forces. Congratulations to them, for having those two types of one of the best combat military assets in the world.

Without any tanks in its army, South Korea saw its capital, Seoul, fall within three days, and the country was on the brink of complete destruction within a month. Education played a crucial role for Koreans, especially those who lacked resources, as it became the key to success. And what would have changed and 1000 such tanks? The Polish problem lay not in the lack of effective tanks, but in the lack of military vehicles in general, obsolete aviation, lack of or erroneous military doctrines bad management and command system and many other things. In 1939, no German tank had thicker armor than 30mm. All of Poland's problems at the time can be boiled down to a few points: 1. too little time had passed to build a strong country after 123 years of partition and World War I. 2. The country's elites focused on power struggles instead of expanding the economy and later modernizing the military. 3. No real alliances were built, through their own stupidity, as well as the stupidity of politicians from other countries. Returning to tanks, a simple M4 sherman would have been fully sufficient to destroy any German armored vehicle in 1939, itself immune to enemy hits.

But we can see the Wehrmacht symbols on the american M113s, we have seen the civilian victims of ukrainian shelling, pro-russian people burned in Odessa, tortured and killed POVs, purge, and many horrible personal stories from those, who come to us, and so on...

Poland didn't get the export version... the ones already in delivery ar the same tanks used by the US marine corps... the main order is for the latest sep v3 version... So basicaly Poland will be operating the same versions as the US as the only country.

Polish army is stacked. Imagine an armored column with K2 panthers on the front line and when these speedy bois aren't enough in the horizon you see an enormous column of M1 Abrahams merging.

I would presume the leopard 2 tanks would go into reserve and the k2s would be the main tank force with m1 abrams guarding major citys and important areas

They buy both mainly because they wanted fast arrival of many modern tanks. Germans were not able to offer huge amount of modern Leopards 2 in a short time. Only US and South Korea were able to deliver enough of them quite fast (so 2-3 years).

Not exactly. Abrams - the best protected tanks in the World - will be defending big open plains of south eastern Poland, while K2 - which is not well armoured on its sides, but is lighter and good in crossing water obstacles - is about to serve mainly in north eastern Polish territories, full of lakes, swamps and small rivers, near the Kaliningrad oblast. Leopard 2PL tanks (Polish modernization of Leopard 2A4 and 2A5) will be send back to the south western part of the country and wait to be used as a second line of defence.

Yes

Normally its logistically very problematic to have different platforms. But Black panther is 55 tons class and Abrams in 65 tons class. Poland might be think of more strategic use of those in different areas because of the different needs. Yet it would be intresting to see both in same combat zone in integrated use if possible.

It's supposed to be an American model. abrams, heavy bwp, apache. . change, unlike in the American army, a lot of rocket and gun artillery.K2 divisions will also have a lot of barrel and rocket artillery with IFV Borsuk. It’s definitely wise to acquire the best tank that can be procured in numbers and at a very reasonable price at this point in time. But I read: Poland will start local production of the K2 in 2026. Surely that doesn’t refer to the K2 as is today?! For export they’d be competing with Turkey, whose Altay is also a K2 built under license with various improvements. By 2026 I gather most 🇺🇸🇩🇪🇫🇷🇮🇱 MBT will have a 130mm gun (which Rheinmetall/KNDS have been working on for decades, though originally in the early 90s they worked on a 140mm gun, which is something we might see in the GMCS, but a new telescopic technology from Nexter) Anyway, with the strategic partnership between UkrOboronProm and Rheinmetall, I assume 🇺🇦 will be the first to use a 130mm gun tank, probably a some kind of UkroPanther, modified to best fit 🇺🇦 requirements - especially a weapon officers station to coordinate artillery support and incorporate both observation and attack drones.

@@jimpark8379 With *a* 130mm gun, rather. The Rh130 produces over 20 MJ of kinetic energy when the projectile leaves the barrel - that's a 50% increase over the Rh120 L/55 (which again produces about 4 MJ more than the previous L/44 - still being used in the Abrams, though today's Abrams probably more than makes up for the 4 MJ with it's proprietary high tech ammunition). The 20+ MJ of kinetic energy the Rh130 generates is even quite a bit more than the experimental 140mm ASCALON that the French want to put on the MGCS. As it stands the Rh130 can destroy any tank currently in use with a frontal hit from 2km away. Now I'd be surprised if the new American gun were less capable, especially given the high tech ammunition American tanks are equipped with. But development of a new 140mm or 130mm cannon for the Leopard started in the 1990s ("Project NPzK"). Work on the 140mm stopped when it became clear that the necessary changes of the Leopard to carry the 140mm gun weren't going to happen but afaik, Rheinmetall at their own expense continued research on their Rh130 all those years along with the improved Rh120 L55A1 that will have it's debut on the Leopard 2A8, which manages to eek out a further 8% compared to the normal Rh120 L/55, so about 1MJ of additional kinetic energy for your APFSDS and they also developed an improved round for the new tank, making it a very decent stopgap for any client who feels they need to replace or add to their 50 slightly upgraded Leopard 2A4/5 in light of the Russian threat RIGHT NOW rather than wait at least two more years when you can realistically expect to order the KF51 Panther. According to Rheinmetall we should see the beginning of serial production in Ukraine towards the end of the year. Around that time they should also become available to other clients, with a production line being established in Hungary. Apparently Viktor Orbán wants to create jobs and establish a defense sector in Hungary. Even though he only ordered less than 300 Lynx (and already spent his tank money on 50 Leopard 2A7HU) he had Rheinmetall build two quite large production and testing facilities. And now he gave them €300 million to develop a custom chassis for the Panther (the only part missing) and the tooling to have it produced at their Hungarian plant.

@@hisredrighthand5212 I am glad to hear that Rheinmetall is doing pioneering work on the successor to the smoothbore 120 mm gun they basically invented and which took over the market, and everyone either licensed or copied in some way. My guess is that the basic Rheinmetall design for the 120 mm smooth bore has been out for a while and the variants are pretty similar. If anyone comes up with a massive improvement it will get licensed. Any ammo improvements can also be licensed or the ammunition can just be purchased. Each 120 or 130 mm gun will have to use ammo that meets NATO standards so the Rheinmetall ammo should not be exclusive to the KF51. I'm glad Rheinmetall is stepping into the Ukrainian market. Korea actually received a tech transfer from Russia in the 90s and the deal was we couldn't use weapons that has Russian tech against Russia, so Korean weapons are sold to Europe with a restriction on transfer to Ukraine. So that's a market needing weapons that Korea can't supply, so I'm glad the German firms can build economies of scale in Ukraine and provide better, cheaper weapons to everyone. The Russians and Chinese kit is completely crap, but they're armed to the teeth and their leaders are desperate. They're gonna probe for weak countries to invade and there's not enough supply to meet demand or needs. So Germany and especially a legendary company like Rheinmetall stepping up is great news for the Western alliance.

I'll explain. Germany proved to be unreliable with service and deliveries, not to mention their initial "involvement" at the beginning of the war in Ukraine. US won't agree to share the technology, but it's always good politically to pour them some money and at the same time keep German lobbyst a little bit more at bay. Korea proved to be reliable, meeting deadlines and is open to license its construction.

Do 1997 roku wyprodukowano ogółem 1027 egzemplarzy. Dzięki takim wysiłkom powstał K2. Polska nie powinna myśleć o licencjonowaniu produkcji K2 z dnia na dzień. Myślę jak złodziej. k2 planuje produkcję od 1992 roku. Opracowywany od 1995 roku. A w 2014 roku został powołany do wojska. K2 nie powstało z dnia na dzień. Polska stara się łatwo transferować technologię K2 i produkować ją w kraju. To pomysł złodzieja. Musimy powoli uczyć się koreańskiego know-how w zakresie produkcji wielu czołgów.

Tanks as part of the enemy's peer combat system are essential. I just need the right tactics to use them.if we had artificial intelligence which will be reliable. it will be a group of combat vehicles and a headquarters with a crew of people. The combat vehicles will be lighter but there will be a hunt for a transmission core to destroy the decision center.for now, we are creating such an IT system, we call it "topaz", which will cause situational awareness on a completely different level.whoever or whatever device sees the enemy, everyone involved will know about him.crews will know where their own and where which enemy. the command will be able to choose with what to destroy the enemy.why hit enemy tanks with tanks. how can you destroy artillery with precision laser-guided projectiles.and enemy infantry entrenched first with cluster or thermobaric missiles.that's right, we haven't signed, like russia, korea, usa, a declaration not to use these weapons.

Houthi rebels were blowing up Saudi owned Abram tanks left, right and center in Yemen with Soviet anti tank weapons from the 1970s like pop corn. Just Google it up and you will find all sorts of videos and pictures of that on Google. If the Houthis could do that to the Abram tanks, think about what Russia would to them. I will give you an hint, the Leopards that were given to Ukraine are getting blown up by Russian Lancets 3 drones, and artillery without seeing a single Russian soldier. Furthermore, Abram tanks are a maintenance nightmare, break down like crazy and need spare parts on a regular basis, have jet engines, use jet fuel and are too heavy and therefore not adequate for the muddy terrain of Eastern Europe. Rasputita or the liquid mud of Ukraine's soil would completely destroy them

Trochę z tych "Leo" zostało zidentyfikowanych jako John Deere... Mało tego, ruskie już je niszczyły na Ukrainie, mimo że ich tam nie było 😂 Zresztą bieganie za czołgami na tyłach wroga, by je wysadzić, świadczy tylko o tym, że Ruskie nic zazwyczaj używanego w takim przypadku na nie nie mają - to jest taktyka partyzantów, a nie armii mającej się za drugą na świecie...

leopard 2 was also the best nato tank until it met russian weaponry. similarly with uk challengers so good brits told ukrainians not to use it in any dangerous battles only for parades and as back up way behind the infantry forces.

I believe the M1A1 are mostly for training purposes. They do have contracts for the lates variant of Abrams.

Wrong. The K2 tanks sent to Poland use a German Renk transmission, the rest of the tank is all manufactured and designed by Korea. The German transmission will soon be replaced with a Korean transmission and then the tank is 100% Korean.

Техника НАТО хороша но только против заведомо слабого противника.. В глобальном противостоянии с использованием всей номенклатуры оружия , уничтожения спутниковой групировки , с уничтожением тыловых оборонных и ремонтных предприятий , внесет корректировы в военную доктрину.. Стоимость и сроки восстановления и производства будут играть основную роль.. Много что изменится... И кто бы что не говорил но для нас сейчас важно что мы проходим отличную тренировку , появилось очень много хороших офицеров младшего звена.. Такого опыта нет ни у одной армии.. Мы за это платим кровью но в будущем это позволит нам существенно сократить потери и врагу нанести поражение... Вы же знаете наверное что после Украины американцы кинут в бой поляков и прибалтов? Вот там и посмотрите на этот корейский танк😂

There is no such thing as the best tank. The M1A2 Abrams and K2 Black Panther are not better than a Leopard 2A7 or Merkava MK4 either. Any tank can be destroyed. In the end, a good tank only becomes the best tank with proper training and military tactics.

Wrong. Poland got the best armored tank in M1 and the best tank in the K2. The Leopard and Merkava are old designs that have received repeated face lifts, they are clunky and flawed in several ways. The K2 is the latest designed tank. It has by far the best electronics.

The Leopard 2 was further improved in the final stages of development in terms of armor, weapons, optics, electronics and drive. With the M1 only the armour was improved. The K2 black panther is constantly being changed. It also has the drive gera, engine and cannon from the Leopard 2. The only thing new about the K2 is the full digitalization. This will get the other tanks too. And again, there is no such thing as the best tank. There are a number of tank models that are among the best and are constantly being developed. Successors to the K2 Black Panther, Leopard 2 and M1 Abrams are now being developed.

@@marcom.2793 Are you high? You just said the K2 is the only tank with modern electronics and that the other tanks are being "developed" to have modern electronics. Modern warfare is about electronics. The tanks that you say are "equal" to the K2 don't even have modern electronics, you even said they're being developed. A tank that is being "developed" to catch up is not equal, it's much worse. The K2 would blow away an Abrams, Merkava, or Leopard. The K2 will fire 3 shots in 12 seconds before any of the other tanks can fire one shot because of electronics these other supposedly equal tanks don't have. They're not equal. You don't know what equal means.

Chyba nie zrozumiałeś tego co gość powiedział w filmie. K2 wytrzyma frontalne uderzenie pocisku wystrzelonego z działa nawet 120mm. Co do swojej wagi, są najbardziej mobilne... nie wspomnę już o ulepszeniach pancerza, który jeszcze Polacy przerobią pod wersję K2PL. W dodatku będziemy produkować je sami u siebie ;-) Czego chcieć więcej? Co do samych Abramsów, na pustyniach w Iraku dawały sobie radę a u nas nie dadzą? Przestań czytać powielane bzdury przez moskiewską agenturę.

@@PyzaBezFarszu nie wciskaj mi działania zgodnie z czyjąś myślał czy w ramach czyjejś agentury. K2 nie da się dopancerzyć i koniec. Pogadaj z kimś z branży to może Ci to wytłumaczy. Zostaje tylko pancerz reaktywny. Abram na pustyni nie musiał przejeżdżać przez mosty, a u nas musi i to sporo. Niestety nie ma u nas wielu mostów które uniosą wersję SAP3.

Poland have no way to get Armata, so they are getting 2nd and 3rd best option ;) Maybe 3rd and 4th, since Merkava IV is probably better than both those in this video. But it's funny how you people find some random crap and present it as the best of the best. LOL!
