I agree with you on that. Besides, along with N and his supporters, they were manipulated by the true mastermind “Ghetsis” for his own plans to take over the entire Unova region from the first Black and White game while they’ve switched sides separately into two different groups and then helping the main characters to stop Neo Team Plasma and Ghetsis from using Kyurem to cover the entire region in ice in the second Black and White game. Which gives the old Team Plasma a chance for redemption.

It’s crazy how few people know their was an schism in team plasma. Those who caught onto Ghetsis’ true goal and were on board with it, and those who were naive of the whole thing and genuinely thought they were helping. It’s as if people forgot Black 2’s plot.

I feel like Lusamine's given too much slack, here. She abused her kids and even though her starting motives were tragic, she's murdered many, many, MANY pokemon, on top of her plot to open up Ultra Space.

To be fair, in the original games you can make the argument that she's not completely responsible for her actions, given that we know she'd already gotten dosed with Nihilego venom by the time we meet her. Less so the case for the Ultra games, though she didn't go as far then.

@@adridoes_sillystuff funny since in the manga bede was never bad. The fact that he had a Galarian ponyta proved that to Sou the male protagonist. Bede was a loud standoffish and abrasive person but was genuinely interested in doing the right thing and get recognition from people he respected.

Separate from my other comment, I wanted to go ahead and rank the major antagonists without their teams, evil to most evil. Edit: Added the villain from Legends: Arceus without spoiling their identity. N: The most noble antagonist in the series Guzma: Just wanted to become stronger and aid Lusamine; wanted his strength to be acknowledged Lusamine (USUM): Just wanted to defeat Necrozma Archie/Maxie/Rose: Well-intentioned extremists Colress: In it for the science. Lusamine (SM): Twisted psychopath Lysandre: Did try to destroy the world, but has understandable motives. Also seems to feel bad about having to destroy the world. Legends: Arceus Villain: Basically the same as Lysandre, but a lot more obssessed and crazy about it. Kinda debating whether they go ahead of Giovanni or not. Giovanni: Commited various crimes for selfish gain Cyrus: Was willing to erase everything for himself, not even for his team, fully intended to kill everyone including his team Ghetsis: Manipulated a child into serving his purpose, lied to said child and his team to gain power, and will go out of his way to try killing the protagonist when they oppose him. Also the only villain to threaten the player's life directly purely out of spite rather than as part of his mission. The only reason why Cyrus isn't higher than Ghetsis in my opinion is because Cyrus seems to be doing what he does in order to "end pointless strife and hostility." He just wants some peace and quiet, but to the extreme. Feel free to agree or disagree.

Cyrus has a backstory that is the motivation for his attempt to make a world without emotion however it doesn’t excuse his actions ghetsis does fail the heinous standard to Cyrus so I’d give Cyrus the gold medal of evil but ghetsis is solid competition

The villain teams were always one of my favorite parts about the Pokemon games!!!

playing W2 when I was younger was so fun and memorable... the game made me WANT to hate Team Plasma and i'm proud that I do. gen 5 is just so great and underappreciated

Team Flare should be higher than Team Galactic. Reasoning: Lysandre actually thought he was doing the world a favor. Cyrus wanted his own world all to himself, totally destroying the old one in the process.

I have one thing to add to your point and one to detract from it. +Flare and the Ultimate Weapon only threatened the planet. Cyrus planned to kill off the universe. -Cyrus DID plan on replacing the universe and everyone in it, albeit without spirit.

Ghetsis was cut a lot of slack. In black 2 and white 2, he literally tried to use kyurem to IMPALE A CHILD, which would have happened if N didn't intervine. So with the team rainbow rocket ghetsis succeeding at his plans, that means he murdered a child and became a ruthless dictator of the entire world. Also Team Magma and Aqua would've beaten Macros Cosmos if ORAS was taken into consideration, in which the drought/heavy rainfall almost ended the world. It was clearly stated that everything would die if it wasn't stopped. I think both of these deserved a bit more credit than they got.

i agree, imo ghetsis is "if we only take the main games in consideration" the most evil team leader of pokemon, he just doesnt give up, doesnt have any honor or decency, doesnt care for his team only himself, manipulated n into liberating pokemon from the people so he could rule as the only one with pokemon, froze an entire city, tried to freeze/impale the player with kyurem, in usum an version of him who won in his timeline and has n his dragon pokemon in his team threatened to harm lillie just cuz he lost to the player so he can turn the tables for him, i know giovanni and cyrus are pretty evil to but they have something that ghetsis doesnt have, honor, decency and some redeemable qualitys, hell giovanni even cares for his son unlike ghetsis who sees his adopted son as nothing more then an tool. they give ghetsis to much slack cuz most of his plans are to dominate and not to destroy, wich is actualy worse in the long run, and im pretty sure if ghetsis was for example in kalos he would have used the super weapon to force the masses into submission or he would recreate the world in his vision to rule it if the masses would refuse. hes an megalomaniac and an phsycopath.

One thing I think it's important to remember regarding Cyrus is that he clearly suffers from severe depression. While his actions show that he's beyond redemption, the fact remains that he's also a victim: A victim of his own mental illness. His actions are ultimately an attempted murder-suicide.

Ever since Gen 6, Rocket always struck me as "Bad, but trying to prevent worse" Magma and Aqua cause devastation Flare vowed to topple nations Plasma deceives with truth and love Galactic conquers the stars above

I feel like Team Neo Plasma is easily ahead of Rocket in evilness, they froze an entire city as a display of power and Ghetsis actively threatened the player with physical harm, and would have killed them if not interrupted. On top of that, the grunts are just more competent and maybe slightly more evil versions of the Team Galactic grunts, who are already pretty evil. Team Neo Plasma are megalomaniacs and sadists, especially their leader, with only the Shadow Triad and Colress not falling into those categories.

Team Rocket is the most evil. They want to Unova and almost destroyed it in such a short time, making Team Plasmas efforts look like child's play. Of course that was just in the anime, But the game version of Team Rocket can hold it's own and is the most evil because they are more heartless for the lives of Pokémon and people.

​@@HazbinHotelStaffAre you seriously saying that Team Rocket freezing Unova make them worse than Team Plasma, even though Team Plasma literally did the EXACT SAME THING in B2W2, in fact it was worse than what we saw in the BW Anime, when Team Rocket did it, the buildings and the road just got partially frozen, but when Team Plasma did it, cities were COMPLETELY frozen, everything was covered in ice, giant unbreakable clusters of ice busted out of the ground and blocked off many areas, the temperature dropped significantly, and numerous citizens were likely frozen solid, granted we only see this Opelucid City, but it was still way worse than what Team Rocket did during the Operation Tempest, Team Flare also outclasses them in XYZ where they use Zygarde to unleash a giant rock with dangerous vines that nearly destroy Lumiose City and would have destroyed the entire world if it made contact with the sun dial, not to mention we also have Team Magam and Team Aqua who awakened Groudon, the emissary of the Land, and Kyogre, the emissary of the sea, two mortal enemies that, through their fierce clash, would have destroyed the entire, and then there's Team Galactic who wanted to destroy the universe and create a new one that has no spirit or emotion, not only that, but what Team Rocket did to Unova wasn't even the worst Team Rocket could, I mean think about it, Giovanni had control over the literal Forces of Nature, he could have unleashed a massive thunderstorm or thousands of tornados, but instead he just partially froze some buildings and roads, and before you say "Ash and Co. fought him before he could do anything else", let me ask you this, why didn't he have the Forces of Nature freeze Ash and his friends or overwhelm them with thunderstorms and tornadoes? If Ghetsis can use Kyurem to incapacitate the player (who is a child) for (presumably) forever, then there's no reason for Giovanni to not throw a tornado at Ash, Iris, Cilan, and everyone else who was interfering with his plans, if anything, it could be argued that Team Rocket is the LEAST evil team since every other evil team (aside from Team Skull and Team Yell of course) outclasses them by a mile run.

there is a tiny detail you forgot about Lusamine as there is another factor to her past that resulted in her troubles, beside the family loss she was infected by Nihilego as well, even before the game starts cause remember, Nihilego is a *parasite* those things are nasty also there are the events from Ultra Sun & Ultra Moon, where she teams up with Ultra Recon Squad to protect Alola from Necrozma (note that in those games Lusamine was not infected before the game starts)

To be fair the main reason why the aether foundation staff attack you was because you were trespassing on private property and were just doing their jobs

This is a great video and all, but I have to bring up something that is a pet peeve of mine: something everyone seems to get wrong. Piers had nothing to do with Team Yell's less than noble actions. They acted on their own volition. If anything, their actions actually did more harm to Piers than good. I apologize if I seem petty, but this is something that gets to me everytime it's mentioned. Edit: Cyrus was indeed trying to erase the current universe in favor of creating a world entirely for himself. He cared nothing for the current world or his team and intended to erase all he saw as "incomplete"

Wouldn't Team Plasma be under the "redeemed" section? (or at least good intentions) Since they ended up splitting up in the sequel games. (with Neo Plasma retaining the evil members) Are Team Plasma from the sequel games not considered for this list? (since you don't actually fight them)

7:45 actually I'm pretty sure that the reason they fought was because maxie and archie picked up the wrong orb, sure they would have fought indirectly with rain and sun but they would have been under maxie and archies control

We need more team Plasma like teams but actually have their message played out longer. Their message of Pokémon liberation and questioning the relationship between humans and Pokémon is amazing but is damaged by giving away that facade 2 minutes after having the player ask those questions with Muuna.

Ghetsis and Lysandre are the most evil, without a doubt. Ghetsis has the most deranged mindset, is an abusive prick, and has literally no redeeming qualities. Meanwhile, Lysandre’s goal is to KILL EVERYONE IN THE WORLD. I mean, he literally sends out a broadcast that says “You are all going to die”. At least Cyrus’s plan sort of glosses over what would happen to the people once he remakes the universe.

@@Maria-ij1wv Silver and Blue aren't evil. Silver definitely was bad for a while, but does get redeemed. Blue honestly wasn't ever really a bad person. Arrogant and rude? Sure. But he kinda just interacted with Red that way since they were childhood friends. It never really comes off as actually malicious and more like that one abrasive friends who's really rude, but you know actually does care. He even goes out of his way to help fight Team Rocket.

@@DaveVampireSlayer I highly doubt that Giovanni would be in the top 3, he may be bad, but he didn't try to destroy a region, or the whole planet, or the entire universe, Top 3 would really have, Lysandre with the Bronze Medal, Cyrus with the Silver Medal, and Ghetsis with the Gold Medal, also I feel like Rose would rank lower then Lusamine, because he isn't crazy, okay, Lusamine didn't go insane on purpose, but you get the point.

However, it really doesn't matter considering his intentions in comparison to other leaders because unlike Maxie and Archie he was not thinking he was doing good. Even ghetsis says he's a man of pure evil and ambition in ultra sun/moon and that's when he doesn't really care what the other leaders do as long as he conquers other verses. It boils down to what he's capable of or his intentions behind doing things.

I actually had a very interesting(if also disturbing) for an evil team, a group of hypnotic cultists, many of the members hypnotize others into becoming more grunts and drones, imagine almost an entire town becoming hostile because of their influence, actually nearly all the members are hypnotized!

Here's the TWIST, only one member isn't hypnotized, every other member is a hypnotized pawn, even the team leader, the true puppeteer is the advisor, whom is the source hypnotist, if the "leader" is defeated by another trainer, then they get the distinct honor of being converted into the new hypnotized "leader"!

I haven't played anything more recent than Black/White, but I've done my research. Trying to use Giovanni, the master manipulator, as a pawn? Sounds like asking for BIG trouble.

In the anime Cyrus is pure evil. They should put him on Watch Mojo as one of the most hated villains that everyone don't like. He's just like Akainu. And he's an asshole.

IK it’s not part of the main line games, but Cipher from Colosseum and XD are pretty evil. They capture Pokémon and corrupt them, turning them into shadow Pokémon in order to take over Orre. Also because Greevil made me break controllers when I first played XD.

Gen 6 made a villainous team (Flare) that is even worse than good old Team Rocket! Then Gen 7 ruined it with Skull being just gangsters. And then Gen 8 comes in. They have the laughable/acceptable Team Yell.

Lysandre, with his opinions, makes me think of a certain dictator. Someone who thought they were making their country better. Cyrus wanted all emotion gone which sounds horrible. But some people don't feel that much. I'm not one of them though. I'm autistic and I feel so much even if it doesn't always look like it. Cyrus wanted a world without intense emotions that can make you do bad decisions. Intense emotions are rather overwhelming for me, but I wouldn't want it all to disappear just like that! Lysandre's goals just disturbs me more, because of how similar it is to that certain dictator. They tried to erase autistic people in the past, so people like Lysandre will always disturb me more. Even if you think you're doing something great for humanity, that doesn't always mean you do, because everyone have a different defintion on what's good for everyone. Imagine knowing that some people think it's best for humanity to erase you. Lysandre were probably a good person before, but now? Eh.. But I'm pretty biased due to his goals.

Fun fact: manga Cyrus is a much different character. He to was also without emotions finding comfort in the complexities of machines but he saw that as a flaw in himself. Manga Cyrus was a firm believer of the sinnoh myths in particular the lake trio and saw the need to have wisdom emotion and willpower to be complete. So on top of seeing himself flawed he also considered the world to be flawed based on the chaos it finds itself in so he desired to remake the world in order to make it complete.

It would make sense to at least look at both, and if you want to chose one, USUM are the more recent and complete one and the ones canonical in Masters, so it would make sense to look at them. Also Lusamine actions in Sun and Moon are due to Nihlego toxins, not her own will, so it's difficult to valute her morality here.

Lusamine being infected by Nihilego is anime-only and is never stated in SM. You can argue that she was infected when she went to Ultra Space, but that's just a theory and everything she did before was of her own will.

She is clearly not in the right mind, her ossession with Nihilego seems to come from nowere if you don't take the toxins into consideraction, she is clearly very unstable especially if you confront her with her USUL self, and considering that they are both the same persons and despite being different universes everyone else have the same personality there should be some reasons why they act so different, and when Samina got defeated, she seems to wake up from a trance, she watch lylia and say "when did you start becoming beautiful?" as if now she see her in a completly different way, in the italian version is even more obvious because she notice that she is grown up, as if she doesn't even remember anything after she was infected and only now she wakes up, but i don't know wich one is the vorrect translation, i should check the original but i don't know Japanese, anyways is pretty obvious even if you don't take the anime into consideration

So even if he had a worse goal less thought was put into it.

So, I have two things that feel are misaligned. Cyrus is less evil than Lysander and Team Rocket beats Plasma. Team Rocket stole and injured pokemon for their goals. They were basically the Mafia. Plasma want REGION DOMINATION! Then for Cyrus. You misinterpreted his thoughts. Cyrus wanted to eliminate the world, and his team because they did not fit his criteria, to make a perfect world. It was because they had emotion and he didn't. Using the Pokemon of Time and space, he tried to erase the world, the learned about the distortion world being the other half. Both Team flare and Team Galactic wanted to change the world, but Cyrus wanted to get rid of everything and everyone. Lysander was okay with his band of idiots not being able to always win. Both deserve high points, but Cyrus gets first place in my book.

Aether foundation in the ultra games were much better as lusamine wanted to protect alola from necrozma and lusamine not being so obsessed with ultra beasts

Team Yell is NOT evil at all. They’re just annoying.

Some problems 1. You went too soft on Cyrus since lysandre actually felt bad about his actions whereas Cyrus was just heartless if not for being genuinely affable to the player and ghetsis actually fails the heinous standard to Cyrus 2. Guzma is objectively not the same as maxie and archie since all guzma did was bully others after being rejected for a huge title whereas maxie and archie tried to cause massive damage in order to achieve their goals

Lusamine of SM has been intoxicated from nhiilego before the events of the game so can't be judged whereas yuo shuold count the lusamine of USUM and her is better of rose
