Pokémon,[a][1][2][3] also known as Pocket Monsters[b] in Japan, is a Japanese media franchise managed by The Pokémon Company, a company founded by Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures. The franchise was created by Satoshi Tajiri in 1995,[4] and is centered on fictional creatures called "Pokémon". In Pokémon, humans, known as Pokémon Trainers, catch and train Pokémon to battle other Pokémon for sport. Games, shows and other works within the franchise are set in the Pokémon universe. The English slogan for the franchise is "Gotta Catch ‘Em All!".[5][6]

The franchise began as Pocket Monsters: Red and Green (later released outside of Japan as Pokémon Red and Blue), a pair of video games for the original Game Boy handheld system that were developed by Game Freak and published by Nintendo in February 1996. It soon became a media mix franchise adapted into various different media.[7] Pokémon has since become the highest-grossing media franchise of all time. The original video game series is the second-best-selling video game franchise (behind Nintendo's Mario franchise)[8] with more than 368 million copies sold[9] and one billion mobile downloads[clarification needed],[10] and it spawned[clarification needed] a hit anime television series that has become the most successful video game adaptation[11] with over 20 seasons and 1,000 episodes in 169 countries.[9] In addition, the Pokémon franchise includes the world's top-selling toy brand,[12] the top-selling trading card game[13] with over 30.4 billion cards sold,[9] an anime film series, a live-action film (Detective Pikachu), books, manga comics, music, merchandise, and a temporary theme park. The franchise is also represented in other Nintendo media, such as the Super Smash Bros. series, where various Pokémon characters are playable.
In November 2005, 4Kids Entertainment, which had managed the non-game related licensing of Pokémon, announced that it had agreed not to renew the Pokémon representation agreement. The Pokémon Company International oversees all Pokémon licensing outside Asia.[14] In 2006, the franchise celebrated its tenth anniversary.[15] In 2016, the Pokémon Company celebrated Pokémon's 20th anniversary by airing an ad during Super Bowl 50 in January and re-releasing the first Pokémon video games 1996 Game Boy games Pokémon Red, Green (only in Japan), and Blue, and the 1998 Game Boy Color game Pokémon Yellow for the Nintendo 3DS on February 26, 2016.[16][17] The mobile augmented reality game Pokémon Go was released in July 2016.[18] The first live-action film in the franchise, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, based on the 2018 Nintendo 3DS spin-off game Detective Pikachu, was released in 2019.[19] The most recently released core series games, Pokémon Sword and Shield, that were released worldwide on the Nintendo Switch on November 15, 2019.

One kind of really funny coincidence, Archie ends his verse with a balls reference while Maxie references periods, which is really fitting. Not only are they opposites, but... blue balls and red blood. Blue and red. Their central colors. I find that unintentionally great

There’s an N line that has a very very subtle in game reference. When meeting the two women that took care of N, one heals you and the other talks to you about N and says the line “what has more beauty and terror than innocence.” Amazing 👌🏾

One reference I haven’t seen a single person see, no offense to them, is Rose line “I got balls of steel, you a peon” because both of them were Steel type trainers and calling you a lesser being or in this case a lesser trainer, Peon. (I think the Rose fight was also much harder so this made the bar that much heavier for me lol)

Hey man, usually there might be some cool stuff that happens after the actual video ends, especially if you listen to the Akaza rap by DPS, so I would HIGHLY recommend letting it play out for a little to see anything extra, or like in this case it was a bad-ass beat drop.

I love the gen 3 remake artstyle. I get that it’s pixeley, but that’s what you get with the 3DS. Also, I think Lysandre is the best villain contrary to popular opinion. I just don’t take most “serious” villains seriously since they have very childish dreams and force their goodies to wear aqua green bowl cuts and space outfits. Lysandre has the very common and real hatred and disgust for the world. I often feel that, but some take it too far. I also love Amalthus from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. What does a man do when he hates the whole world for its sin? He tries to end it.

Despite me being the dreaded Gen Z I am not huge on the new 3D Pokemon games. I guess you could just say that I'm fetting stuck on nodtalgia (despite black & white being the first game to come out that I played) but I just think some things are better suited to 2d retro style

Really enjoyed seeing you vibe to this one and enjoying it but man this Cypher felt like a dissapointment to me, each verse feels really short because Im left expecting them to still be saying something but they end up all saying similar things, it just feels really empty compared to the previous ones. Another problem I had was that most of the verses sounded really similar but the previous ones had really varying styles that I dug, even the singing in the previous ones felt refreshing with different tones and I never felt fatigued listening to the whole thing on repeat. One thing that has been constant for me was Zach, his voice in the cyphers has sounded so good on the ears, I think the combination of having N and his voice really left his verse sounding great, which is kind of funny since he was the only one that wasnt really a proper villain. Peso Pete started sounding really good but the flow felt really weird really fast and sounded like one sentence and it just made it a bit idk... directionless to listen to? Most of the rappers/artists didnt sound bad or anything overall and Ive heard stuff Ive preferred from most of them so I know theyre all talented, this cypher just felt so off to me personally, I dont know if it was because villains in pokemon are nearly always surface level but even then the trainer cypher felt like it had some hard hitting lines coming from simple points. Overall its still clear lots of work and passion went into this one and maybe I tailored my expectations extremely poorly and there was a disconnect so Im not knocking Cam or the artists for their efforts since not all music needs to be made for me.

I do think it does partially have to do with the fact that most villains in Pokémon are sort of one-dimensional besides a few that are really more anti-heroes rather than villains. I do agree certain parts were weird though, and it seemed they also had a lot of artists who flowed similarly or had similar tones to their voices. I think if it wasn’t going in this specific order it would’ve felt a lot more refreshing. Also, Peso voice-wise was refreshing as hell to hear, and his first part had so much presence that it was insane, but the beat really was fucking up his verse for me, cause he was forced to do weird flows that sounded way too long and drawn out. Also, I’ve noticed it became really obvious just voice-wise who was a rapper and who was a singer, because Nate’s verse had certain wordings that just didn’t work with his voice and it really showed through that he was mainly a singer. However, while it wasn’t my favorite, I really like this cypher for the parts that stuck with me, and I end up just fast forwarding to the verses I preferred in these reactions now.

Probably cause this one's much more of a "vibe" track than a "bars" track. It's not that one is worse than the other, but when you come in expecting one (cause of the previous cypher) and get something else, it's kinda offputting at first.

@@skeletonwar4445 Yeah after giving it time and listening a lot it's totally this, it being a vibe track was super jarring initially and hard to get into but once I just let myself take a step back I began to really like it.
