Forgot to add. Comfey is a great learning pokemon. I learned about how other people play the game by spamming comfey and attaching to them like a parasite for a couple weeks, since you are in charge of healing them, you start spotting stupid moves and smart moves quickly. Now I am also getting my wife to play, and the way I am starting her is as a comfey attached to me.

Slowbro is the most broken mon in the game imo. The fact that he can out heal incoming damage and do enough damage to k/o the mon unlucky enough to fall victim to his stun is insane. And on top of that being blocked from using items so there’s no way out is wild.

In general, including pre nerf, Charizard is more on the difficult side to get into, and definitely hard to master. You have to actually land your Flamethrower to get the bonus burn ticks and speed boost, use Fire Blast to block off space, and take advantage of the fact that you can kite your opponents while casting your basics and skillshots, something not a lot of other characters can do as freely. Even his Unite Move isn't as unga as everyone makes it out to be. You have to be mindful of unstoppables cancelling it, and while wiping out everyone is certainly a fun way to use it, that's not always realistic. There's a lot of other utility to it such as timing it to snipe a low objective in the middle of a team fight or single out the enemy carry

I can agree on the overall rankings. New players definitely want to focus on ease of use rather than the current meta options. I remember back towards the game's launch, Absol was the first I obtained via coins, and it took a hot minute to learn how Absol worked. Throughout the game's life though, naturally getting better, the only one who came close to that experience was Zoroark, was a very strange one to get used to how it worked.

This is fascinating to hear, since when I first started playing the game (close to the launch period) I used Lucario first, and then Pikachu and Zeraora. I guess maybe I just got so used to using him that Lucario came easy to me after a while, so hearing he's not meant to be beginner friendly is interesting. Him and Cinderace tend to be my mains I use, but I'm like a super casual player. I don't study mechanics or deep dive on details of how the game should be played or any of that, I just get on occasionally to have fun with it, so I stick mostly to those I think I do well with or had fun using. Even picked up Blastoise as my main defender to use because I thought he was pretty good. I'll need to give a look to Eldegoss though, never tried her before

The only time Slowbro becomes kinda difficult is when you use telekinesis. I actually agree with the C placement of Tsareena, as I was able to do very well with it without even knowing all the intricacies of its tools, more or less spamming its moves and finding relative success which you don't find with the Pokemon in D tier. Yeah.. Calling Elde what you did kinda hinted its future placement 😜

I think it would be worth doing a video or maybe a short on like key points in the game that you should be reaching your third stage or what level you should be by the Ray fight. I have my opinions on this topic and I believe they are effective however, I would be very curious to hear your take on this topic. I just started playing yesterday and ive mainly only been playing Talonflame, ive played similar MOBA games so i understand how the game should be played and ive been absolutely dominating with talonflame I havent lost a single game yet. Starting with acrobatics you can fly over the center wall to start farming the jungle and once you clear your whole side you level enough for flame charge and then you can pretty much easily wipe out the enemies in either lane. Then theres fly which does an insane amount of damage, protects you from other pokemons abilities, and helps you manage cooldowns.

I would have to say, for the God tier I would choose slowbro because it is a great tank to learn from, you can put a lot of items on it and still make it good, you get it for free, and I have had so many players that I know personally and that have just started out in the game say they main with slowbro and so did I when I started out.

10:45 wow I didn’t realize they added Mime Jr to the game- In all seriousness, I do mostly agree with this tier list. The main things I’d change is move Clefable to A tier, Comfey to C tier, and Mew to D tier. Clefable can get a lot of value but I think a really good Clefable needs to learn how to properly use its unite move bc otherwise it can feel pretty underwhelming at times. Its team dependence does also make it slightly harder to use than an Eldegoss for example. Comfey just…like you said, doesn’t teach you much about the actual game as a new player. That and I think that many new players won’t understand how to attach and detach to increase its overall healing in a fight. As for Mew, it’s just not an easy pick up at all. Mew is all about its move reset mechanic, and if you can’t use that properly you are simply not gonna get much done with Mew. It requires quick decision making as well as a decent amount of mechanical skill as well which is why I’d put it in the D tier.

Heyo. New player here, only been on for about 2 weeks. Trainer level 22, zoroark main with 12,000+ bp and 101 battles under my edgy foxes belt and a 73% winrate to boot. Made it to ultra tier in ranked already. Despite the difficulty with zoroark i do want to raise a point this teir list never touches on. Fun, engaging gameplay that would give incoming players amazing first impressions. Zoroark was my first impression, and admittedly i was already partial towards my edgy fox, i FLEW through the rankings and matches feeling like a badass at all times. Feignt attack can be button mashed pretty effectivly at low elo so was a new player freindly pickup, and as i started to rank up i was then pushed to learn HOW it actually worked, and started to branch drastically from the static okay sash a bunch and hope they die to actually using the positional waypoints of feignt attack for my gameplay. It was difficult to learn but very rewarding and a hell of an experience and i think has solidified my hype for this game. So to anyone reading this conment: while put content cowboy is correct on the difficulty of learning ceetain things, also keep in mind it IS a game and the tougher pokemon can be a engaging and satisfying learning experience. dont lock yourself into a meta box as a new player. Your new! Live by your own rules for a little bit before you become a slave to the meta.

Interesting ranking, and I mostly agree. However, there are still some pokémon I would personally put in other tiers, as someone who is (still) not that great at the game and with what I've seen my son (he's nearly 6, so I think it's kind of a great skill ceiling gauge haha) experience in the game when he actually plays it: - Wigglytuff: feels more like B than A to me, because you have to have the timing and rollout seems reaaaaally hard to learn how to play with - Urshifu: ok, here, I'd say dark bear is more of a C tier, and water bear is B. I say this as someone who is not that great with dark bear's playstyle and had a very hard time learning it. I still have issue with the timing of that securing attack (forgot the name oops?) even though I've been playing the game for more than a year now and I can definitely play some other pokémon that demand to have some skill (doing great with phantom force dragapult, love garchomp dig build, actually can stomp with aegislash shadow claw/wide guard build, and mained talonflame for a few months back in the day and I did do decently with it...). Ah yes, Eldegod at its rightful place. Is my main pokémon to try and climb rank haha (since noone ever takes defenders or support and someone has to do it and I've had many games where I outdamage our hypercarries, which is still shocking)

I think Gardevoir is more akin to C tier. It has a lot of the same issues as Decidueye, where it's easy to dive on, and the player needs really good positioning to do well. If they're a novice and they're laning this mon, they will have a hard time. Psyshock, Future Sight, and her unite move also require a certain degree of predicting movements to do well, which can really challenge your micro gameplay

you do need a specific set for glaceon icy wind. lv 30 shell bell, lv 30 energy amp and scope lense probably. ofc full cd emblems are probably needed as well, alltho i prefer to run full sp / atk on most mons. might even prefer crit / sp atk build in this case. as for icicle spear, really love that build and the sound effects but you do have to charge it before using which can be quite risky as he is pretty squishy mon. for these reasons i think espeon is easier to use. glaceon is dealing hp % dmg on all of he's moves tho so that pretty powerful. once you get some practive on him i see how he can be better than espeon atleast before the range buff.

Hoopa is one of my mains and I can say that even tho is kinda easy mechanically what makes a good Hoopa is their macro, and somehow this skill is hard to learn for many players. A new Hoopa will do mistakes like teleporting teammates back to base unwillingly, even try to last hit and objective nad teleporting the team to base instead, not pay attention to low HP teammates or if they want to rotate thru a goal portal. A Hoopa with good macro will always have a portal for you when you are half HP or low, will rotate you, especially after you get one objective and you want to go to the other, keep an eye on the whole team's position to see who to help or teleport with the Unite Move to objectives, and on top of that stunning and doing good damage in battles.

Blastoise’s moves are incredibly easy to use so they say it’s novice without taking into account how easy it is to shut it down with experience.

Blastoise is one of the hardest to shut down. Surf Hydro Pump is impossible to deal with and Rapid Spin does a lot of damage while being resistant to hindrances. Mechanically it is fairly easy to use, but it does have some minor problems, like you cannot dash over walls with Surf.

Water Spout Rapid Spin does hefty damage but you kinda need to sacrifice some bulk in order to actually do so. Either you will be as fragile as a glass pane or you will do negligible damage to your opponents I bet my pride as a Blastoise main that Blastoise can be countered easier than you think

Its definetly been a transition

Hey buddy. I have an idea about your comfey road to masters. Maybe you could play duos with your wife and you coach her through games. Of course it requires her involvement and I'm sure she isn't super excited to play unite. I just think it would improve your chances of making it to masters with comfey slightly.

the problem with the new player is build, heild items, in the rank game, you can compete with high rank, there is a good build and max held items, yes there are 3 items to max the 3 held items but that is for all pokemon,

Funny thing is without mobaexpierence and only one jungler video i pickec tallon because i wanted to master Gengar. But I agree on both hard for beginners. Second funny thing is when i got Gengar and started ranked games with it i steamrolled the first 30 games or so Know my mains for ranked are Gengar,Aegis,Deci,Cram,Garchomp.Mamo, Mr Mime Slowbro and tyra fell out of rank for me Maybe i began on hard mode?

for some reason I played really bad with Eldegoss, but Azumarill is the one I really disagree with. High C is most likely.

I love Garchomp, its my first Mon that I bought for coins. I first played dig and quake on bottom, now I play both dragon as jungler and it is such a nice carry pokemon. Since the game result depends on the Req fight (stupid mechanic in my opinion), Gar stomps at that fight, because its Ult is soo fucking broken. You can easily win a 3 vs 2 with that ult. (I play fpr 1 week now.)

I started with gengar. Granted it is hard to get his combos down when playing shadowball/dream eater. But those sweet sweet kills make it worth it. I wish they would fix the aspect ratio bug on the fold phones so I could play ranked again

this is fascinating coz i found trevanant the easiest tank as a new player and the only melee mon i can actually do well with. i also think glaceon and espeon should be swapped. constantly having to pay attention to ur character to see ur shard stacks and constantly having to keep them up while everything else is going on can be REALLY anoying, especially in the heat of battle or if ur being chased down which is pretty constant in the game. which put me off getting glaceon so ive only played it with the temp licences. as a whole its general kit isnt hard but constantly having to look back at ur character every 2/3 seconds then to see ur stacks makes it hard to pay attention to what going on around you, making it really hard to fight effectively. as someone who is casual and bad at pokemon unite and doesn't touch ranked. my mains are bulbasaur, sylveon, espeon, trevanant. and then glaceon if i owned it. and in that order. i dont think glaceon is hard to learn mind you... i just think its "hard-er" to learn than sylveon and espeon as glaceon needs a bit more stack management as it determines a lot of glaceons ability to burst damage opponents. of course im not the best at the game and im just a casual player coz im a slow learner , so do feel free to tell me what u think.

I started in season 1. This is my first MOBA and online game with real people EVER. I wholeheartedly agree with Eldegoss being the best, as that was the one I finally felt I could learn the mechanics and help despite not being a good gamer. I will say, I do NOT recommend playing melee characters. Ranged characters are best for newbies.

Pretty good placement on Snorlax-- 1) Flailax-believers are still out there, 2) the shield has different functions depending on whether you're moving backward or forward on the enemy Bonus trouble for noobs: 3) The timing on Slam is tricky if you're trying to evade damage from enemy skills, 4) the Ult stuns again and will cancel using the same button (bad news for button mashers), 5) The timing on the Ult is tricky if you don't know what enemy stuns are off cooldown, 6) The placement on the Ult is even trickier if you have noob teammates who run away But yeah, I'd rather have a scrub Snorlax than a scrub Blastoise any day of the week
