I mean, it is a little scary, that even when trying to replicate what it would look like, the tracking is still bad, the models are not able to keep the same position. so how badly will it track in real time, from the actual glasses....

I mean it’s still a proof of concept and AR is still a growing area where everything can be improved upon so that’s pretty expected. Give it a few years and it’ll probably look way better.

Pokemon GO in glorious 52 degrees FOV, and without any shadows/lighting whatsoever (and probably no or crappy object occlusion) on the see-through Pokemons. Nah. In 10-20 years time, this could be good, though.

I'll be a little more generous with an estimate of 8 - 15. Ray tracing just hit consoles - a huge step for the gaming industry - and COVID has put a little extra bounce in its step. Plus, the Pokemon community is mixed with generations unlike most games.

The reason there are strays is because so many people buy pets and then abandon them when get tired of them, like my parents did with 3 dogs and a bird that we had. I welcome this replacement.

Actually, it seems like we're almost to the point where this could be feasible. Check out the Nreal Air. From the front they look like normal sunglasses for the most part. And they're not super expensive

One day our processor speed will increase 100 billion fold, and so Pikachu will have brain made of actual neurons, and it'll be actually pondering about meaning of it's existence while being thrown into virtual dog fights to death. Ahhh, love the progress.

No hololens isnt for me, im waiting for a good AR glass with passthrough and bigger than 130 horizontal fov. AR glasses are not good atm to buy i think.
