It took Ash's Cyndaquil all the way until Diamond and Pearl to evolve!

Donphan is easily one of my favorite ground type Pokémon. One of my favorite battles that it participated in was the double battle alongside Brock's Steelix against Team Rocket at the Pewter City Gym.

Been a fan of Donphan since it’s cameo in The First Movie

I love Phanpy so I was a little sad when it evolved into Donphan lol. But I was glad Ash actually let it come back which is more than most of his other Pokemon that barely get anything after they get put into THE BOX.

@@ProfessorAlexSilver Yeah but i love the Johto starters and Noctowl too, the fact that the starters took up so much time and Tododile being less developed is probably why from Hoenn onwards they only gave Ash one or two of the starters of each region.

When Misty cheated Ash of togepi, I was elated when Ash got his own egg and Phanpy more then filled the void! I was even more ecstatic when it returned for the battle frontier and my jaw dropped when it evolved to Donphan. Now I know I really should’ve seen it coming after seeing that shot of Donphan battling an Arcanine in the opening. Ash’s Phanpy/Donphan has made me a eager fan of the species, The fact that elephants are my favorite animal definitely helps!

I was so glad Phanpy joined the Team again during the Battle Frontier. Then evolved soon after, Phanpy was ready to evolve. He just needed a bit more experience 4:03

Would definitely love to see him again.

Donphan is one of the most under rated Ash pokemon with an awsome moveset,immense power,great speed, and such a loving personality, that its surprising that Ash didn't use him more frequently, I hope that someday they'd bring him back in a future episode aside from brief cameos

I think high horsepower would be a great move (It's an egg move but Pikachu learned volt tackle so why not) mostly because it charges against the opponent and in Journeys during the aerodactyl episode we saw a graveler use rollout and then tackle while also rolling, infernape used flare blitz while rolling that people thought it was flame wheel so high horsepower could become it's main move combinig the ground type and the rolling thing which is important in a pokemon like donphan

I loved the first movie appearance of Donphan. Super iconic

And I was laughing 😂 when you mentioned about the PMC, I was like don’t get me started with those clowns. They attempt to capture the most valuable Pokémon and fail miserably like Team Rocket. They’re both annoying. They appeared in the episode where Cleffa debuted and the episode in the Hoenn saga where they attempted to catch Lunatone. If I never see them in the anime again, it’ll be too soon. But that Lunatone episode was probably the last they’ll appear in anyway. I don’t know if the Pokémon company will bring them back anytime soon in the anime before it ends its run.

Phanphy/ donphan was a success as far as Johto is concern... So much of the content in Johto is first gen evolutions but I'm happy for this original evolution line...I still didn't even appreciate it till gen 3 or close to it because phanphy arrives at the last Johto town low level, and there were always more Pokemon I rather work with I appreciated donphan late...

I Got Donphan in Pokemon Crystal. Getting a Phanpy is a Nightmare. Nicknamed him Cannonbolt.
