In regards to the Cram-o-matic rates; yeah, the short version is "if you throw in 40 identical candy, you have a ~37% chance to get the candy of the same type out" But that number makes me pretty confident that the more specific formula behind it is as follows: - 66.6% to ignore candy types = rolls a type at random = (66.6/18) ~3.7% overall per type - 33.3% to pick type based on candy types, so = (33.3/40) ~0.83% overall per candy That's why if you go into it mono-type, you basically get 33.3% + 3.7% (if your type gets picked from the random part) = ~37% ...so if there are multiple types of candy that you value strongly (compared to others), you'll end up more happy with the result when throwing in a mixed selection of what you want, than going into it mono-type that you want, because the chances for getting a candy of a bigger selection combined are higher than of just a single one with its 3.7% random part. But that's kind of a "well duh" observation probably lol

I’m with Bobby 100%. 9x outta 10, I think Hannah drop 🔥 takes, but Bobby is completely correct. They easily are using AI to judge/pick winners. His point about AI not recognizing AI (as he cited with meta) is an actual problem. VK could’ve easily over submitted and overwhelmed the competition with AI art, and as Steve points out - plenty of Pikachu & Eevee art to pull from for the AI art. The similarity of all of VK’s art… I mean sure one judge was really into it but, as Steve points out there’s “incredible art” that didn’t make it. Idk, Bobby’s logic clicks for me. If they keep the six entries through to the finals, and then say nothing to address the issue at all, I think that it'll hurt the community a lot. But it sucks to see how people treat the TCG as a commodity nowadays anyway... it will be very interesting to see how they go about any art contests in the future.

It's probably gonna get even tougher to "judge" art submissions like that moving forward lol So the only thing I'm imagining that might make this kind of contest work, would be something as drastic as having to also submit some kind of evidence (like a decent recording of making the art?)...but I'm not sure how that would be received and how much it would affect the amount of people submitting anything.

Hot take, I think when they add new pokemon to Go they should stop having events with them, it kinda ruins the fun if they either spawning everywhere or just behind a paywall. I definitely agree with Steve that they need to focus on things outside of relying on new Pokemon to drive excitement. I'd love if they got the writers for Masters EX to do PvE storylines for Go, when Rhi got introduced and we had the whole ultra beast storyline was probably the most invested I'd been in the game in awhile outside of big yearly events.

SLEEP HYPE. I went Tundra, and I'm very glad I did. I've only gone there a handful of times before, and quite a while ago, so I never even reached Master on it lol With this insane event boosting curry by 1.5x, me using a good camp ticket (which gets me literally at the exact amount of pot size to make Inferno Corn Keema Curry, 51->77), and some ungodly amounts of Extra Tasty luck in the second half of the week, I managed to reach Master 10 LOL

I got my first two shinies this week in Sleep. A totodile, which was cool cause I'm masuda hunting one rn, and a metapod

Actually as a kid had a house in the neighborhood that would never be in since they’d be at a party. And left the full size bars in a bowl. And we all only took one (per loop, if we walked it a second time we deserved the second one!)

:] Even though Sleep's Growth Week won't be the fanciest event we've had, I'm looking forward to effectively having a rest week that gives us bonus stuff for doing very little - we were going to be sleeping anyway, bonus exp and candy are like 2 cherries on top. I'm planning on going to Lapis since that area's team would benefit the most from the exp bonuses and that area has great candies to farm.

I'm at 88/200 Pokémon in sleep, and that's the highest the number has been 😁

i agree that Steranka interviews never really seem to earn back good faith. either his responses don't seem to reflect player activity/sentiment accurately or they're so uninformative, idk the time spent reading them has ever been worth it. so ty for going thru it and confirming for us that we didn't miss much.

Hey Steve, do you have any Sleep tips when it comes to airplane travel? I feel like it's too loud/shaky on the plane for the phone or GO Plus+ to track reliably. What has your experience been? Did you track sleep during your flight to Spain and/or Japan? My buddies and I are jumping for joy when a statement was released regarding the Ai art scandal. I wonder if anything would have happened at all if dedicated artists weren't taking a closer look at the entrants and causing an uproar online when broken rules were spotted. For my money... if this contest is going to be a thing that keeps happening, they NEED to develop a dedicated judging panel. You guys are asking for entrees, actually JUDGE them. You can't rely on whatever shortcuts were employed to tighten the field. There's no way that anything TCG related doesn't have the budget to pay living humans to do that. If not, then the same scandal is going to keep happening and Ai art WILL slip through the cracks and end up on a real card.

For pogo, I'm getting frustrated with the new shiny debut pokemon. There isn't really a good way to shiny hunt effectively, so even if I go out for an hour or two a day during an event I am still coming up short on getting new shinies almost every event. I get that it is all RNG, but it makes it really demotivating week after week not finding anything worth keeping and not being able to find pokemon that you want. If the shiny debut is the only new thing going for me since I have finished all of the tasks, then what else do I have to motivate me to play? I'm still enjoying the game mostly, but it has been frustrating for me

Can we please get Greg back on a regular basis?

as much as I like Greg especially since he the one that plays unite and pokemon master but sadly he doesn't really talk or put that much input when discussing something unless it's to make fun of it. But bobby tries and even ask for more info when he doesn't understand and not just stay quite. Even Hannah talks more with him there since he's easy to bounce of with when talking.

If there are Reddit communities where you have better checks for scanning for AI art, then there's no reason why the Art Contest should let VK through. It's pretty simple to show evidence of draftwork.
