Just because a person is combined with a pet doesn't make them a pet. Her personality seems dominant, so it's either a child (in which case she isn't a pet) or a new creature (which isn't a pet).

@@Demmrir A chimera which is mostly in the form of a dog could qualify as a pet. And personality wise, a dog is not that far removed from a child. The chimera is not much more than a talking dog in the instance of Nina/Alexander. Arguably still a pet. Especially because there are much more sentient and humanoid chimeras later in the series.

At one point (I don't even remember why, or if it was intentional or not), he ends up combining his 4-year-old daughter Nina with their pet dog, and creates a goddamned horror. Nina doesn't fully understand what's happened to her, which makes it even worse. TER. RIF. FYING. And sad as fuck.

Yep, "adamant" is an archaic word for diamond. The suffix "-ium" is often used on metals, so the idea of "adamantium" is a hypothetical metal of impenetrable hardness. It's funny that people would think Marvel invented this idea.

@@rokeYouuer, Um Actually: it is from Brotherhood. In the original FMA, Tucker was simply taken into custody while Nina escaped her captors and fled into an alley only to be mercy killed by Scar. In Brotherhood, Tucker and Nina are in custody together when Scar shows up and murders Tucker in front of Nina. Which is when she delivers the line in question right before Scar mercy kills her again for the first time.

Not gonna lie, I was half expecting you to have a snippet of a Beach Boys song in the Hear Me Roar game, because Pet Sounds. What I got was a traumatic memory of watching a Japanese cartoon. So thanks.

Um, actually, you're a god damned monster Trapp, the INSTANT Nina-Alexander started speaking I felt tears start. You absolute monster.

The moment that Nina soundbite started, my eyes immediately widened and I screamed "you bastards". I knew it immediately.

Am alchemist creates a chimera of his dog and his daughter, and the end result was a horrifying mix of the two-that sound was the voice of the daughter-dog.

@@jevs.5469 A side character (alchemist) has the job to make a talking chimera, in the past he once snapped due to failure and fused his wife with an animal, later he is tasked with creating another talking chimera (no one knows the previous one was his wife) so he tries making one from just animals but it wont work, and he'll get his state alchemist license revoked without results so he fuses his dog and his daughter (who has been growing close to the main characters seing them like brothers) when the main character finds out that the daughter is the chimera (because she says his name) he almost beats the father to death only stopping cause his brother kept him from doing so. Later the alchemist is killed by a different character, who then puts the girl out of her misery

It's been a year, and everyone is talking Nina, but "I didn't know Discworld was a thing" evoked MY trauma response!

I IMMEDIATELY recognized Nina and the fact they played it like 6 times hurt my soul so bad

Damn, I was NOT ready for the last sound from Hear Me Roar!

The chimera scene wrecked me when I first saw it. It was so unexpected and so horrifying.

Then me: Um actually, the 1611 Edition and original King James Edition both included those books, just labled under the Apocryphal section at the end of the book. This is an attestment to King James' dedication to accuracy because he included the books of the Catholics even though the Spanish (who were Catholics) had tense relations with England for centuries simply due to their Protestantism. Or more specifically, the KJV included the Christian Apocrypha, but Enoch stayed a Jewish work considered outside the Christian deteruocanon, and was barely accessible / known in Europe in that age. Fuller manuscripts were put into wide distribution only centuries later, so no, Enoch was not in the KJV. King James himself barely had anything to do with the translation, it was mostly taken from Tyndale's translation (and Tyndale was executed by the British Crown!). Including the Apocrypha had nothing to do with accuracy, but rather just tradition that it should be included and That's The Way It's Always Been. And while relations with Spain were indeed tense and inflected by religion, the English Reformation was less than a century old, so these tensions were ALSO comparatively recent - the order of decades, not centuries.

I've never experienced a sound causing nausea. But having that chimera dropped in out of nowhere made me sick. Thank you for the experience.

The "one of these images is fake" shiny question is almost always given away by the fake one being slightly higher quality than the rest. In this case it has extra shading the rest don't have

When you played that soundbite, before even one word was finished, my skin crawled and my vision went tunnel-y and I had literal tears. Holy hell. That storyline apparently legitimately traumatized young Kayleigh!

Thanks Trapp for ruining my night with that last sound. I don't know anything about FMA but like a crazy person I had to see the scene. That is one of the most disturbing and heartbreaking scenes I have ever watched. I didn't even watch Nina die and I hated it.

Um actually, the Nac Mac Feegle also 1) are not just beings they're pictsies, a kind of fairy found on Discworld, but they hate being called that 2) do not have dyed blue skin, they are heavily tattooed and appear blue, the tattoos are also clan identifiers

Um Actually, did you say there were scenes in Star Wars of Ferengi having their ears rubbed? Because that isn't right.

I think they should start an offshoot of these called TIE Breakers where they get the people that have tied on previous episodes and pit them against each other on even more in-depth nerd trivia maybe even base the questions off of the questions from the episode they tied in

Um actually, while the chimera is made of Alexander's (the pets) body the consciousness and voice is that of Nina (the daughter) technically making the sound you hear more of the daughter than the pet.

My entire being is in pain from the Nina sound. Thanks for that

@@ajsparx4133 Let's Go was the Gen 1 remakes on Switch. (Let's Go Eevee and Let's Go Pikachu) and i would argue that you do start with a typical starter pokemon in GO because one of the first things you do is catch a charmander bulbasaur or squirtle

not a correction, but ironically one wall that is an artifact creature in mtg is the Living Wall despite it arguably being one of the most straight up creature like

When it was "Summon" for creature cards, it made a bit more sense. Because one would just summon a wall. When they changed them to say "Creature" instead is when it became truly disjointed, and Living Wall was "built" from various biological parts, which is a type of construction.

I may or may not have screeched when John appeared on screen… despite having his name in the title

Omfg that clip from FMA scared the shit out of me, and when they said where it was from I immediatly remmembered and started crying

Um actually, the Pokemon Mystery Dungeon games also don't let you choose from 3 starter pokemon (they assign you a starter out of all existing starters and some non-starters based on a quiz), the Pokepark games and Pokemon Rumble start you with Pikachu, XD Gale of Darkness starts you with Eevee, and the Ranger games and Pokemon Snap don't give you any pokemon including starters.

When you added the chimera sound, I was like you guys are sick! lol
