Ash's team is trash. Realistically she can beat him and leon (if she uses kingambit last). Honestly Cynthia and Iris are leagues above other champions in the game and they are the only champions that can be actually hard.

I actually really like Paldea's system. Being a Champion seems more like belonging to a certain calibre of trainers rather than just being a title (that other people will get from you once they beat you). I hope there'll be other champion-level trainers to meet in a possible DLC.

While I also like this facet, I kinda dislike that you don't get the title of Top Champion by defeating her. Imagine this, you make it past the Elite 4 you already qualify as Champion Rank trainer, you kinda have to since the E4 are the Guardians of the Champion(And remember that they aren't only guardians, they are also competing for the position too) Defeat Geeta and you snag her spot as the Top Champion. Or have a DLC with a Tournament in which the new Champion is decided

@@garreonlefay6703 It's assumed that the kid here IS a champion but these people are an official organization with adult (and in this particular case one child who got on the Elite Four in special circumstances) members. It's likely that the kid you play as rejects it so he can have a childhood and friends.

Someone actually headcanons that the title of Top Champion is actually an elected position

So different from sword and shield. Sword and shield treated Leon as undefeatable. Geeta is portrayed as very beatable and even says that she lost when her opponent was holding back.

And still they were both easy af. Leon was treated as this hardest bost Pokémon could make but they made it even easier to set up (which you don't need to) than walace! I found geeta's +1 kingambit more difficult than Leon's overhyped charizard.

Frankly, I'm surprised by the lack of theatrics for the final battle lol. Makes it feel more fluid tho so not complaining

Right? Even if it isn't the final battle this is still the *TOP CHAMPION* of the region, even sword and shield had more climactic battles (even if the difficulty didn't reflect that). Hell even the Lusamine battle in Sun and Moon was more climactic and epic (even if the difficulty didn't reflect that) and that was nowhere near the final battle.

There’s a theory going around that she is also an AI by the way she acts and also her use of Glimmora and so she sorta went easy on you to let you win and in the DLC she will come back full power. I know it’s a reach into the depths of hell but a boy can dream. Also keep in mind that half of the gym leaders openly express to you that they don’t really care for her. Which is a first in Pokémon so maybe there is more to her than meets the eye.

Funny thing is, a single Ceruledge can actually counter 5 of Geeta's 6 Pokemon. For instance, my Ceruledge has a Super-effective move against Geeta's first 5 Pokemon: Shadow Claw (takes out Espathra & Veluza due to their Psychic typing), Night Slash (takes out Espathra & Veluza, again due to their Psychic typing), Bitter Blade (takes out her Gogoat, Avalugg, & Kingambit as all three are weak to Fire), & Tera Blast (my Ceruledge has a Grass-type Tera form).

My Armarouge has super effective moves for five as well (shadow ball, flame thrower, and psyshock) and since it’s a special fighter it can just oneshot Glimmora with neutral damage, but even if I can’t I have Meowscarada to cover that

Ceruledge is a great Pokémon though I just swept her with a level 60 Lokix… leech life/axe kick all her Pokémon for super effective damage even on Glimmora when it terrastilizes into a rock type.

Should have had her team like this: 1) Glimmora - It's a stall and hazard set pokemon, it definitely needs to go first as her lead pokemon. 2) Palafin - Especially Hero Form, that thing is a beast. Put a U-Turn on it, and then send it back to the battlefield to destroy us. 3) Gholdengo - She really needs to have this, no one else (NPCs) in the game have this pokemon if I remembered correctly, plus it's a strong pokemon too. And it shows that she too had encounter these Ghimighouls along her travels in Paldea as a Champion. 4) Dudunsparce - Almost everyone underestimate this pokemon. Slap in Serene Grace as it's ability and some Crit always move/flinching moves, and you've got yourself an annoying, strong Pokemon. 5) Armorogue(?)/Ceruledge - Another beast on the battlefield, and powerfull too. Maybe make her use both for version exclusive eventhough I know both can be obtained from both version. 6) Kingambit - And finally of course, it's Kingambit. It's ability is insane when it goes last and with terastalized, it is so OP. Some other pokemon suggestions for her team: Arboliva, Farigiraf. Heck even one of the Paradox pokemon. Maybe she founds one and makes it on her team. Disclaimer: I know that this team is like weak to ground types and also two steel types but this team is much, much, MUCH better than her original team.

I mostly agree, except that she should start with Palafin instead, then have it use U-turn and swap with Glimmora to activate Zero-to-Hero and if the player used Physical moves, Toxic Debris. While Ceruledge/Armarouge is great, I would suggest swapping it with Volcarona to reduce her team's overall vulnerability to Ground-types.

You don't realise that geeta isn't supposed to be a final boss. Champion rank was a friend request not a necessity. That's why Nemona is harder. Also, it's supposed to be a test and not a battle over the entire title of top champion.

Same situation with bug type. The only champions who wield it in battle are Alder with three, and Steven's armaldo, which is primarily rock type anyway. So Alder may as well be the only bug type wielding champion.

She also now joins Alder in the ranks of champions who don't wield 3 stage evolutions as their sig. I would have loved it if they did go a more Alder-like route and made her a semi-poison-type champ. It fits her design. Her team already gives me Alder vibes as is for some reason.

How to make her better. Replace Avalugg & Gogoat with Gholdengo and Palafin. Palafin first, it uses Flip Turn immediately and is swapped out for Glimmora. After Glimmora lays hazards on the field and gets KO'd. She swaps out to Zero to Hero. Kingambit is used last.

And then Tulip through how she straight up hates her, and then goes on about corruption in her post battle chat. Geeta's team actually has massive potential IMO, but she totally wasted it. She would have been extremely dangerous if she started with Glimmora and ended with Terastallized Kingambit, which would utilize their amazing abilities to the fullest. A careless player would unintentionally activate Glimmora's Toxic Debris and thus heavily crippling any succeeding Pokemon called by the player. When all of Geeta's other Pokemon have been taken down and she finally releases Kingambit as her ace, Supreme Overlord coupled with Terastallizing will turn it into an unstoppable killing machine, unless the player has a Trace Gardevoir with Aura Sphere. The rest of her team isn't too shabby as well, unfortunately their strengths also weren't utilized to their fullest, especially Veluza and Espathra.

Bruh I couldn't even touch her Glimmora. Her team had excellent type coverage and I guess my team was just super unlucky as she countered like everything I had. I went in the e4 immediately after beating the 8th gym on purpose so my pokemon were like 48-52

Fun fact : you only need two moves to sweep Greeta X-Scissor - beats Veluza , Espathra , Gogoat Close combat - beats Avalug , Kingambit , Glimmora(which she will Tera rock) Which makes me mention scizor/Scyther here.

So, the music glitched in my game. For both the Elite 4 AND Geeta, because I got NOTHING apart from this particular loop of the same bit of the track on repeat, so I actually didn’t get to properly experience either of those battle themes. I kept thinking to myself: There’s NO way the music for some of the most important fights is THIS lacklustre, and seeing this, I’m SO GLAD I was wrong, and that my game just glitched.😅

Battling Geeta isn’t a battle for champion of paldea imo I believe it’s a nothing more than a test to measure your strength for something bigger later on, because she still refers to nemona as champion and even after you beat Geeta so it seems as if she’s gathering strong champion level trainers for a reason

Top Champion is like Paldea League's version of Grand Champion, which can't be taken by just defeating her, despite herself claiming to always go all-out in battles. Plus... Ash is already World Champion; there's no higher position as a Trainer to achieve _(other than Pokemon Master, but it's still not certain how someone becomes one)_

I actually was underleveled a bit even though I had beaten the other two stories already (team was mostly in the mid-high 50s, with Quaquaval at 61) and played on set mode w/no items in battle, and while the battle was probably more challenging than what it would be on switch mode, I still beat her first try.

I would love to see Ash battle her or even Leon or the other regional champions to battle her, unfortunately that's will only happen in fan made comic, I don't care what other say about her , she's a pretty good champion.

Well diantha beat lance in the anime so, she's not that underwhelming even when geeta didnt debut yet. Lol

This woman literally pulled out the Gogoat. Like out of all the cool and useful grass types that’s what she chose

How you get to play it early?

Honestly seeing how Glimmora's Ability work, it should've been her lead instead of her Ace. I guess they want it to match Geeta's aesthetic but like most previous champions don't really have the same aesthetics to their ace anywat. Also tell me why her team consist Avalugg and Gogoat? 💀

It could still be her Ace. Just have her be one of the few people to send their strongest out first.

Compare this to the updated team after indigo disk Maybe the line ‘I’m utterly incapable on holding back in a battle’ would make sense 😂

I did the Kinggambit strat to make things more interesting, had her kill my entire team on purpose (took a while), then swept her entire team with a maxed out King Gambit

Not my favourite theme, but the opening gave me goosebumps holy fuck

The game has interesting story, the gameplay is entertaining but it is horribly optimized unlike other more demanding switch games it shows and feels :| In addition, some of the good things that arceus had are not present in this generation.

It was due to a bug/glitch that caused the first couple of nite to loop. Initially the only way to solve was quit & reset the game and then it be back to normal. However the 1.10 Update Patch for these have addressed this and fixed it properly amount other things.

For some reason her theme and the entire elite 4s was bugged for me and it kept repeating the same robotic sounds over and over again

So if you have a Terrastilized Pokémon right, will it still keep its form when you switch it out?

Also, Pokeli. Lucky to own a Dark Tera Baxcalibur. Iirc, its very rare own a Tera mon, different to their STAB types.

You cannot challenge the Elite Four, after you beat them for the first time. The only rematches are the Gym Leaders. There was the Ace Tournament wherein your Pokemon can get the Champion Ribbons.

@@MissHavoc Exactly. It is a really annoying defense. And it doesn't even work because Red and Blue did this. The 'real' challenge after Lance was Blue but Lance wasn't a pushover at all (yeah, he had 5 Pokemon and 2 Dragonairs but he still posed a challenge).
