Rules of the challenge:
Normal Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. Fainting = Death
2. Can only catch the Type Pokémon on each Route (Species Clause)
3. Nickname Pokémon
Hardcore Nuzlocke Ruleset:
4. No items in battle (held items okay)
5. No leveling past the next gym leader/E4 (at the START of the battle)
6. Play on "Set" battle mode

@@jordywatson1179 serious answer, Exeggutor is by far the best Grass Pokemon in gen 1. Victreebel and Venusaur compete for second place, with Venusaur having better bulk and Victreebel having better offenses + Wrap.

@@GyroNutz no it's terrible sorry for the serious answer but it's true fact that when used it can't compete to something bulcky especially how it doesn't get very good moves in gen 1 and it's typing doesn't really help it any with weaker defense I mean yes venasuar is more of a personal choice but it's a far better choice than Exeggutor

@@turo_tcg I noticed that too, that was a dope thing to do, guy works hard for our entertainment and it is appreciated!
Wrap is pretty broken, but it has two major drawbacks that kept it from being too competitively viable in gen 1. First of all, that 15% miss chance. Since wrap is so weak, you’re going to have to use it a lot, so you’re almost guaranteed to miss one or two. Second, it’s only really cheap if you outspeed the opponent. The fastest mon that gets it I think is tentacruel, at something like base 90 speed. It’s reasonably fast, but not faster than the biggest threats of gen 1, namely Tauros, alakazam, and gengar, all of which can hit it super effectively. Other than that, you could try to set up agility on dragonite and use wrap, but then you’re forced to set up, and if you miss, a lot of mons were packing ice beam/blizzard back in the day. On the whole, other stuff was just more effective than wrap, but it was very good and kinda game breaking against AI.

@@yommmrr well, a monotype pokemon and a monotype team are different. monotype team means the entire team has one mutual type, but monotype itself means a pokemon has one type. so it's not really like most people don't know what it means, they just think of a monotype team instead of a monotype pokemon.

Wow. One minute ago. That’s actually kinda cool.
I would have thought that delaying as much stat experience as possible till you can drug up in cerulean(where you can choose where you want your stat experience) would be more optimal than grinding on level 2s.

Excited to catch a new video as a new viewer!
I respect your work dude because i know that all your videos take weeks to get everything together. good job my good sir...
Disagree about ev’s being better than stat exp. Ev’s are definitely better competitive battling, but for a play through I thing stat exp is much less of a pain. If you want to control your ev’s you still have to grind, and if you don’t, every ev in a stat you don’t want is at the expense of the stat you do want. Better to just be able to battle anything and not have to run away from half the encounters.
@derek3231
2 жыл бұрын
I also find that the ev system disincentivizes the games most basic mechanics. It makes me not want to switch to a water type to deal with a rock type because I don’t want the defense ev’s on my special attacker at the expense of special attack ev’s. Therefore my only options are to be annoyed that my reward for playing smart is that my pokemon is worse off, or bore myself to death grinding. Better off to be able to just enjoy playing knowing my Pokémon get all the stat exp. My solution would be to switch ev gain from the pokemon defeated to the move used, I think it makes more sense for a pokemon to get better at the types of moves it uses.
Love the new style and the videos 🥰👍👍👍👍

for this game, you could have set up the Toxic/Leech Seed bug, which is totally legal, lol. in the old game, both of these move use the same formula so using them together works in dealing more damage faster. I plan on it when I get my current playthroughs of new games finished, :)

Can you do Shining Pearl Hardcore nuzlocke Fire type only ? (With National dex)
Does anyone know why Giovanni the ground type gym leader's badge is a feather
Wrap and all trapping moves are not that obnoxious in competitive gen 1, since you can still switch out and everytime you do, you waste an PP of the opponent and it checks for accuracy again. You can use those turns to wake up your slept Pokemon(if needed) and also you usually switch to bulky Pokémon that don't care that much about getting some wraps, like Starmie, Chansey and Snorlax, and in worse scenarios, Alakazam or Tauros. You also need to keep in mind that the best user of Wrap (Dragonite), is only 80 speed, and needs to find an opportunity to come in, don't get paralyze or take an ice beam/blizzard. Other users exist but they are more niche/not used, Moltres and Cloyster are your other best options if anything. The former needs to be careful, since it's weak to Ice still and the latter it's mostly used to gain some momentum, not to sweep with Clamp. All of that needs to be added that usually those teams are a bit more lackluster and have a harder time checking Starmie/Zam or Tauros There is probably some other things that I forgot to mention but, long story short, they are not *that* annoying, but played perfectly and with a bit of luck, they could win some games
Hi I was just wondering if you could do a professor oak challenge in pokemon emerald multiplayer
I love the older games
Sad you did not do badge boosting or setting up on dragonite
Grass only Emerald Would be great
Prediction: 3 Pokemon die but win on attempt 2
If meatball sees this please add the platinum oak challenge. If you could that would be great. Please see this :(

So Gen 1 is held together by spit and a wish, it still does neutral damage, it just shows super/not very effective text based on the secondary typing of the Pokemon, hence why that occurs.
