@@tear959 no, gen 1 & 2 don’t even have throwing animation, it’s only gen 3 & DPPtBDSP protagonists HGSS protagonist never throwing their Pokéball because they have following Pokémon that help cover their animation with pointing finger

The transition from crystal to ruby and sapphire is just mind blowing even to this day

Yeah, Crystal was very impressive for its time: two regions to explore, a day/night cycle and animated sprites for the very first time. RS was a letdown in comparison 😢

I love the addition of the pokeball turning the general color of the Pokemon in Yellow; it made the world feel much more alive to me.

@@Mixeli Not in Gen 2, because it can run away only in the safari zone. by the way, i noticed that when you catch a Pokemon in Gen 2 the ball turns into that Pokemon's color.

@@Theloster actually in gen 2 only a few Pokémon can actually flee from you in a WILD BATTLE which kinda sucks. Because the only ones I know is magnemite, Tangela, and Swinub can flee oh and the legendary birds can too.

As a catching animation, the Sun and Moon or the BDSP one is probably my favorite. The Origin Ball cinematic is such a nice one overall though. But it’s a cinematic, it’s gotta look good for the story.

Out of all of them, not counting when a poke ball is opened, 2nd Generation GSC one looks the most realistic, especially with bouncing part, where as others look very stiff especially when the poke ball bounces or so

I know this isn't relevant to the video subject, but the footage for gen 3 looks a bit desaturated compared to what I'm familiar with. I remember the games being really bright (probably to compensate for the GBA screen). It actually looks nicer IMO! How did you capture the footage, if you don't mind me asking?

Because in the old games Chansey was almost impossible to catch and those games had high difficulty

BDSP was such a downgrade. Shame.
