to be honest the presentation was not that hype. Like, all we learned was : there are SOME large (barren) areas, and there's a new gimmick of huge pokemon you can use ONE time that doesn't seem that strategic or interesting. There's really nothing that incredible in this Pokemon Direct, apart from some new pokemons.

​@@JuicedLeaf There was more to it than that, you're right, but everyone's "It's just going to look like Pokemon Let's Go (an up-res Sun/Moon)" ended up being true, and worse than so. Now we have environments that can't even match Xenoblade 1 Wii in density and life, the frame rate is already chugging compared to the live-recorded staff notes.

The contrast in the thumbnail between Kyle and the rest of you guys is perfect!

I like how the Pokemon websites had nearly double the amount of information the direct itself had. Like, you watch the direct for 15 minutes and it gives you an outline. Then you look at the website, and suddenly every other possible query you might have about it is there too. Was not expecting that.

I don't even need to watch, I know this is gonna be a riot with Bosman lmfao.

I don't think I've ever felt anticipation for a Pokemon game before, I'm genuinely looking forward to this.

Watching the Allies react to Kyle reacting is just..everything. I love this!

Good to see Ian again! Also, the reaction to reactions of other Allies is still fantastic.

Your reactions were fantastic and so glad you all love Wooloo, that fluffball is so adorable! I was hyped and laughing along with you guys. I think the main thing about the Dynamax is to draw kids in, I mean, giant Kaiju of your favorite Pokemon, kids probably will go nuts. I enjoy getting carried away into Pokemon hype. I would like to have a rival that feels more like an enemy or obstacle but over the course of the game your relationship evolves into a friendly rivalry and you tackle the end - game drama together. I think it'd be cool if Leon was a bad guy and Hop ends up being the one to wreck his undefeated streak. I know it detracts from us, the player, taking him down a peg and being the hero but I think it'd be cool if Hop who genuinely looks up to his brother, finds out he's a bad guy... Or Hop goes to the dark side lol. And with something like Dynamax, there has to be some shady abuse of the power by someone, somewhere in this game. Though I'm not into the gimmicks with each new installments and I don't have a lick of competitive Pokemon strat so I'm sure I'll be using computer trainers in these raids instead of other people that are not gonna want dead weight on their team XD Regardless, I just love catching Pokemon and earning gym badges. I hope they bring back the ability to polish your badges, always thought that was a cool touch.

I mean, that’s the point of newer trailers. To make the game look better and better with each one. If the game looked worse, that would be poor marketing. This is also ignoring the fact that they showed very little gameplay in the first trailer and that it was made more to introduce you to the region as opposed to the game.

Fool! You are just the Mary-Sue protagonist that is destined to defeat all the trainers. Agency? Character Development? Who needs that crap!? You're the chosen one! For real through I did wish the games would allow the player character to actually be involved in the story instead of just being the hero that saves the day. Gen 3 kind of did something like that with a Gym leader being your dad but that was honestly underdeveloped and they haven't done anything like that since.

So like it seems you can turn the camera around outside, that's cool. I have hopes for fun exploration now

This game needed no gimmick. The gimmick was the chance to do a fully 3d pokemon full of secrets to explore. The open area seens promising but I still wish that gamefreak thought of pokemon as more than a collection of clichés and gimmick of the season. I wish Satoshi Tajiri back somehow. I wanna feel in an adventure again and not in another theme park ride.

Kyle's reaction was great. The music is great though. I was jamming out to it

Dynamax doesn’t seem exciting until you realize that all of the attack/move animations look redesigned when in Dynamax form. Considering the amount of attacks, that’s the opposite of lazy.

There’s a lot of talk in this discussion about wanting pokemon to be more challenging so I’m just gonna throw this out there: my interest in the franchise was 100% revitalized when I discovered the wonderful world of self-imposed rules! It doesn’t have to be nuzlockes! You can limit the amount of pokemon you catch! Maybe this time I’ll only have the 6 for the entire game! And also no healing items! Maybe I can only catch the my fourth pokemon once I get my fourth badge! All water team! I know it might sound lame to some, but I really started having a lot more fun once I began looking at the games as frameworks which enable me to play out my own fantasies. Almost like a D&D book.

(That said I do wish there were more options to mess with dificulty on a systems level. I always play on “battle style: set”, but I wish there was an option to only let me use as many pokemon as the oposing trainer. It just doesn’t feel fair 😣)

I was really burned out with Zelda, years ago. I bought Spirit Tracks and, on a whim, decided to name my character Dean instead of Link. He was Dean. Totally new character. No joke, just that one little twist made me enjoy that game far more than I would if I had done as I always did, which is to name my character Link. My point being that sometimes we are our own worst enemy and sometimes WE are the ones ruining games for ourselves. I think your ideas are extremely valid and good suggestions.

What I would like is a battle style _between_ Set and Shift. One where I can switch out when I get a KO, but _cannot_ see what my opponent's next Pokémon is going to be. That would be perfect imo, and would well represent how battles are conducted in the anime. Having my number of Pokémon restricted to be the same as the Gym Leader's would be nice as well, for battles in an official capacity like that.

I have no doubt that Dynamax is going to be a softer buff in stat bonuses than megas were and a softer buff in attacks than z moves were. It'll probably be good for competitive play and will be a novelty in the story. That said, I'm with Kyle on the look of it, but I'm still super excited about the other new things Sword and Shield have to offer

Note that they said *One* of the new multiplayer modes to play, that means we're getting even more and I'm expecting something at E3 at Treehouse or something like that.

I hope for now on this is how they do reaction streams. Just have Kyle locked in the closet reacting to it on his own while the whole group is together living it up, and then watching his snide snark afterwards. This is only way I can stomach Kyle's overly harsh first reaction snark.

Glad They're adding Pokemon GO features to the game.

I like the shield legendary too Ben haha. I didn't like the song at first but it got a lot better 1/3 of the way through. The beginning lyrics are a little much.

Theory: third legendary=armored Pegasus What do knights wield? a sword and shield What do the travel on? Armored horses Pegasus= flying horse Third legendary is seemingly going to be able to fly Also Chess Zacian=Rook (can hit anything on the board) Zamazenta=Bishop (can protect from all vulnerable angles) So third would be a knight which is represented by what? A HORSE The knight can be a perfect balance of attack and defense

Never judge a starter, before I've seen his final form. It's the one you'll see most. They stay in their first form for less than 2 hours so... I don't care yet.

Jersey stuff is pretty self explainatory though. The jersey's have ads or sponsers on them so obviously gym leaders and trainers are sort of treated as Sports teams in Galar Region. So you have uniforms and sponsors on your uniform. Leon the champion has several sponsors on the back of his cape and his younger brother is using a branded bag that his bigger brother is sporting on the back of his cape.

I had a lot of trouble hearing you guys over the actual video, it felt like you were either mumbling or facing away from the mics. Or maybe it's just a job for editing.

"Here's my thinking is like, if it was, you know, like they were like oh our budget's weird we, we wanna do something big but we don't have like yeah whatever the resources to make max evoloutions or whatever for everything" But the thing is, their budget IS weird, and they don't have the resources. The budget is weird because financially, they absolutely could, but the thing is, from a hardware limitation perspective, that's like an extra thousand pokemon models, that's not something that fits into their "budget" most likely.

No way wooloo's evo gonna do it justice. I think I'll eviolite it. But I really do hope it stays cute like ampharos.

Audio balance isn’t great (Allies should be louder than video), but fun reactions nonetheless. Game looks awesome
