Oh that would be awesome, Pokemon Sleep is still an amazingly perfect game tho, honestly it's probably the best game that has been released since Red and Blue, the other games are mediocare, i mean who cares about Legends:Arceus or Pokemon Platinum when we have the GOAT Pokemon Sleep! The hype!

Oh man, I forgot about Grand Oak because he hardly ever appears. Aslo, Fennel is my absolute favorite, and I was recently hoping she would become the face of Pokémon Sleep, but they decided to reveal another professor instead. I wonder what her role would be in a BW remake, and what will take the place of the “dream world” connectivity or entralink in general. Please, Fennel deserves better!

They could easily make another temporal website or even a permanent one for new Dream World ! Just put some ads on it and it'll pay itself

I always loved the idea that Professor Grand Oak was just Professor Oak pretending to be some weird hip person so he can associate with the numerous hip youngsters using his system.

I love how they "canonized" Burnet in the main series and the anime, I kinda hope they do something similar for Bridget and the others. Bridget and Hayley's roles are a bit more niche in comparison to Burnet's but I imagine Bridget could be the main administrator of an international Pokemon storage system. Maybe she could be involved in a main series story when the storage system gets compromised by some evil team, idk

Sort of a new take on "Electric Soldier Porygon" since that episode also had to do with the Pokemon storage system, specifically the transfer system. As infamous as that episode is, I would like to see a new take on it, and working in Bridget could be really fun.

Honestly, she was one of my favourite characters in the anime, she just has such a fun design and vibe in the show. It was actually really refreshing to see a grown adult character have a status quo change over the course of the series, and she's a really competent scientific professional throughout

I literally had no idea that prof burnette was from dream radar, makes you think they should recycle side characters like this more often it strengthens world building a lot.

Grand Oak's beard is unique too, asymmetrical and everything!

Always love your character design deep dives, they're super interesting to look at as an artist and also see how the art style of the series develops

Agreed, i love how most of the updates on designs are vast improvements.

I AM NEVER FORGETTING BRIGETTE EVER! Top 5 designs in the series, boffum. Of course Burnette is awesome too, was very happy to see her repurposed in Gen 7. And Fennel is another beloved gen5 wife. Hailey i actually didn't know about until a previous video of yours taught me of her existence. Pretty cool though of course the actual game's artsyle doesn't do her justice lol

@@ShadyRK9 yeah you had to be there. Her original appearance was a DS/3DS app (i forget which one) that was like... Kinda primitive VR? One of those things where it made it look like landorus and his bois appeared irl. Pretty cool thing in retrospect. Itcame out during that time when folks were begging for Hoenn remakes/a mainline pokemon on 3ds so makes sense it didnt get much attention unless you were a hardcore fan that cared about anything beyond the core RPG titles.

-Bridget reminds me of Misty lol. Tho i do love her design she kinda reminds me of a professor and her newer design is super cool. -Hailey looks kinda bland tho i do adore her belt and i want it. (yes i know dittos don't have a stomach but still) -Funnily enough i prefer Burnette's Radar outfit, it looks futuristic and badass, although it still appreciate the casual Alola outfit. -Fennel is just wholsomeness...yh thats all i gotta say about her -Grand Oak funnily enough reminds me of your typical creepy old man whos really powerful but is constantly simpng on women kinda guy (sorta like Roshi) Yh, overall i think character wise Bridget looks cool (would love to see her in the anime one day, althouhh highly unlikely). Design wise, Brunette's Radar outfit is the best.

The Brigette full art from XY Breakthrough is such a nice card, recently got a copy. Wish I could afford the Japanese version tho. Japanese full arts look so much nicer :)

I feel like the most forgotten pokémon character would probably be Amelia from Pokémon Shuffle because I genuinely never see anyone talk about her I had to look her name up because I didn't even remember how she looked like, all I knew was that she existed and was the tutorial girl for the game and that she was keeping notes on our progress I only remember her because when I played the 3ds version I got very sad that she just disappeared and never showed up ever again in the game

I'd say my favorite is Hayley. I REALLY wanted My Pokémon Ranch back in the day since it showed the Pokémon in Mii-style sprites and you could interact with them, I REALLY wish I had gotten it but I was poor and didn't save often, I think Wii Points cards were also completely gone by then too. I was surprised to find in this video that she does have official character art, and I love that she keeps some key features between her official art and her Mii, such as the exact same red-lense sunglasses and the beauty mark. It could be possible that her holding the Wii-mote is not only a nod to the game and system she originates from, but it could also imply that that's how she communicates with the player, like she's simultaneously playing around the same time as the player, that's her custom Mii in the game, an avatar of her but not directly her.

Actually she does kind of look like Misty's Johto timeskip redesign, like she could be a relative or even her Mother ETA; Just looked it up, she's canonically the older sister of Lanette, the girl in Hoenn who upgraded Bill's storage system to have a visual box interface.

I love this series. Wouldn’t mind seeing these type of character deep dives/analysis vids done on side characters or maybe trainer types. I never realized that the posing of characters can help subtly convey info about their personalities.

I played Pokemon Dream Radar back in the day and I bought it again recently before the E shop closes because it's a part of my childhood and also because it's the only way of completing my challenge of catching no Pokemon with Poke Balls in Black 2. So seeing Burnet in Sun and Moon was crazy because I was like "Wait, I know this character", and I because knew I was part of the minority who immediatly knew who she was when they first encountered her in Sun and Moon because they played Dream Radar.

The dream world may be defunct right now but there is an ongoing attempt to bring it back! A video on the Dream World its features would be really interesting, and could drum up hype for the revival being done by shutterbug2000

I think you could throw Amelia from Pokemon Shuffle in. It is not the storage system, but she has similar one-off appearance and her character art is interesting

As someone taking the deep dive into Pokemon writing, and someone who always has a weakness for the niche and lesser known sides of franchises in general, this is right up my alley and quite helpful. I certainly won't be forgetting any of these characters anytime soon.

Professor Burnett got a great glow up in Pokemon Sun and Moon.

it's funny that you mentioned the connection between caitlin and fennel because I thought fennel would have been the psychic type gym leader of unova when I first played it. I feel like I'm not too wrong for thinking that considering that you were frequently meeting the other gym leaders outside of the gym in black and white, and I thought having a scientist/pokemon researcher as a gym leader would have been an interesting idea for a character. I do think it would make sense for her to come back in some capacity, the dream world could become the place you send your pokemon to farm items and EVs when they're not in your party

Professor Hayley’s design is totally based on a HootHoot which i’m surprised you didn’t mention

While I feel like they wasted the opportunity to bring Bridget back for Home, I do find it funny how Grand Oak is a play on the meme “The future is now old man.”

Fun little detail: Burnet still has her Suit from her old design just now she isn't wearing it like he used you the Top part and the Sleeves are now at her waist

It's crazy, I was thinking about this the other day. I really we could see some of these characters in other things too

There're many characters that aren't mentioned in video will be forgotten(but rememebered by fans who loved them or loved the game the characters in, or how difficult or memorable the character(s) was/were), unfortunately, I feel like they're slowly disappearing.

I am pretty sure Bridgette appears in the firered and leafgreen manga as one of bills friends or assistants

I think a video Gator should do is contrasting the character design between the prontagonists in the games and in the Pokespe manga.

With these main-line-compatible titles in mind, it makes me ask "when is the Pokemon Company going to give us a spin-off game where we can ultimately utilize EVERY battle gimmick at once?" We have Mega Evolution, Z-Moves, Dynamax, and now Terastal. Seeing more than one gimmick used in one battle would be a fun time.

Pokémon Dream Radar was actually fun and enjoyable 👀

So many side game characters will be left behind too. A lot of puzzle games have some professor/important npc (ex. Pokemon Picross with Professor Tetra, Shuffle with that news reporter), who knowsif they will ever get mentioned

I’ll never forget them and they’ll be brought into the mainline at some point like Burnett was anyway

damn, i didn't even know they reused an already existing character to be the face of pokemon bank instead of just creating a new one that's really cool, considering both apps kinda fill the same purpose, but recognizing her mustve been so cool to the few people who actually did whoever remembered her and thought of doing that was doing gods work

What I worry the most about is transferring pokemon in the future as well. I hope they will find a way to allow transfering in the future In particular, a physical transfer device for the 3DS and DS in order to connect to Home would be nice

I honestly thought that Grand Oak was Prof. Oak but trying to be cool/hip/"Hello fellow teens" to relate better with the newer generation of players.
