Pokémon Battle Revolution - All Masters Battles [HeartGold]

INDEX AVAILABLE IN THE DESCRIPTION
Welcome to my video list of all Masters Battles that appear in Pokémon Battle Revolution.
Pokémon Battle Revolution is the fifth console game from the Pokémon series that was based upon the "3D Battle Simulator" series (the first two being the Stadium games, the last two the Colosseum games). It was released for the Nintendo Wii in 2006 (Japan) and 2007 (Europe, United States and Australia).

// ADDITIONAL REMARKS //
The Masters Battles is a tough series of battles that is unlocked after beating the initial game. It is located in the Stargazer Colosseum and consist of eight sets. Compared to previous Pokémon games, the challenging level exceeds what has been released before. The AI of the trainers base their choices on what you do. The AI of these trainers always change every battle - it's unlikely to have the exact same "person" on the field (but it is possible). This makes the battles in this game quite interesting, but honestly often (too) hard for the inexperienced players.
Take into consideration that the Pokémon used by the CPU are build on competitive level, so they have proper Individual Values and maxed out Effort Values. These were designed for a higher degree of battles than the previous Battle Frontiers (Generation 3 and 4) were made for. There's also some clever synergy in the teams themselves, something that's often found in human competitive Pokémon matches and rarely in the CPU environment. Unlike the CPU's from the standard (portable) games, the CPU does know how to use their Pokémon and they won't hesitate to go no mercy on you.
The used game cartridge for this save file was Pokémon HeartGold. All Pokémon movesets and stat builds have been manually done without any console/game modifications.
I've used Pokémon Sapphire, Colosseum, Platinum and HeartGold with transfers in between to build my team. Most of these Pokémon had Effort Values/Individual Values taken into consideration. However, the majority of this team build was made for Single Battles - thus the spreads are not suitable for Double Battles. Despite that, the reason why I picked this team is to prove that starting (competitive) players actually can beat the Masters Battles with basic Pokémon knowledge about things like Effort/Individual Values.
Yes, my Rayquaza was caught wild in the Embedded Tower.

    Fuck that spin the wheel method bullshit lol. I felt like banging my head against a wall while attempting to survive through Neon & Courtyard Colosseum. I could only reach the 50th battle in Courtyard Colosseum and once I got there, I said fuck it man. I am done with this colosseum and I am never challenging it again lol. The same with Neon Colosseum. It is nerve-racking knowing that your opponent can end up getting your Pokémon while you can end up with theirs, with bad move pools.

    Although I want it too, it's unlikely since modern day Pokémon games come with 3d animations. On top of that, people were disappointed that it didn't have the "adventure" feature like Colosseum and XD (although the DS games are ALREADY the adventure, though. So it'd be redundant).

    I have a few questions. I beat five...colosseum leaders, is it? What do I do now in this process, especially so I can progress in the game and have more Pokemon to choose from? Like Geodude and Regirock for example. I only have the three starter Pokemon in their middle evolutionary forms, Shinx, Staraptor, and Garchomp. Also, while I'm here, I might as well ask this other question. Someone I know gave me their Wii U, and of course, I wanna get some games for it. I'm thinking one of those games where you go on a journey and fight with a long weapon to swing, like a sword or staff. It would be pretty cool to use my Wii remote or Nunchuk as my "dueling" weapon. Any games of the Wii U you guys can think of? I'm already used to Legend of Zelda, so I wouldn't mind picking a different series, where I don't know the character. Start new, you know? Also, not to sound too picky, but I'm hoping my weapon knocks my enemies down, not necessarily stabs and slices them. A "flown-backwards" defeat is such a cool effect to see onscreen, like Harry Potter's Stunning Spell or Shrek's sword attacks in _Shrek 2 PC._

    Yea. it's possible for trainers to have shiny pokemon on their teams. once I was doing a trade battle and the opponent had a shiny vibrava, and so when I won I traded one of my pokemon for it. it's the only time I have seen it though so I think it follows the normal shiny chances?

  • @Rayque3

    Probably your best guide for that is using the articles on Bulbapedia that covers all sets, including the variants according to your game version (i.e. Mysterial's for Set 4 and 8) and the Masters Battles for Rentals. That's how I got the information from. It doesn't show stuff like the Natures/IV/EV's, but the information there should be enough!

    thx btw do you think we need Pokemon Battle Revolution 2 maybe with a story mode like in colloseum or XD. I never played XD or Colloseum, but that's the reason, why so much people hated Battle Revolution. Whatever yes or no ?

  • @Rayque3

    @Rayque3

    6 жыл бұрын

    I own and have completed Colosseum's (post-game) story mode and I have seen a fair share of XD: Gale of Darkness over time. Those two games are really its own thing, and a refreshing take on the franchise that is. Pretty much PBR recycles the previous generation Pokémon models from Colosseum/XD, and Colosseum/XD recycled from Pokémon Stadium 1 and 2. A lot of the soundtrack from PBR took inspiration from Colosseum/XD's, by the way. I can imagine that another one of these games could work under the right circumstances with the right features, but keep in mind that the console Pokémon games have been fairly niche and have only grown a (still relatively small) fanbase over a long period of time. But I would probably advize Nintendo to use a total different name for a next instalment, because Battle Revolution is arguably the most disliked within the community, and all of these games have been a couple of generations ago so a "sequel" would probably not resonate too much with general public/modern fanbase. Hopefully the next Pokémon game on the Switch can change the popularity for console Pokémon games (as well, you can tell it hasn't been warranting more sequels after this game), however I've decided to stay within Gen 4 myself for many personal reasons though (which was also the decisive reason why I've purchased Battle Revolution in the first place). It's a shame that Pokémon spin offs never launched as big as the main games did, as they (still) have a lot of good to great spin off games...

    I was fortunate enough to have this one in about three months. I would highly recommend reading up on Pokémon's RNG manipulation (and the Cute Charm exploit) if you're going to hunt for shinies in Gen 4. Keep in mind that each generation has a different RNG manipulation, though. But the basic idea is that shiny encounters with legendary Pokémon are set in stone, and thus, the exact date and time can be reverse engineered.
