Not a young team but young by age and playing high competitive international volleyball for 2-4 years. Michielleto played Tokyo Olympic at age 17. Lavia played in VNL 2018 at age19. Young but experienced at their peak & prime form. USA are all experienced & oldies Matt Anderson is 37, David Smith is 39 what can you expect their deteriorating physically like most Brazilian players

@@dalegood40 I agree. USA is literally not weak in front of Italy. Just not stable at the moment. Only reason we can see is they are aging and can’t follow up after the long rally. They always lead the points and get exhausted at the end of the set. When they get tired they can’t defense and just watch the ball drop.

Torna la sicurezza di Giannelli, stavolta (di nuovo)straordinario: il primo tempo che serve in bagher al solito favoloso Russo nel set3 è roba da pochi, più ace ed attacchi😍. Il set primo rivede i soliti errori iniziali, ma la reazione è nel segno di Galassi. Poi sale in cattedra Lavia, io dico vero fulcro di questo match; si aggiunge il solito Michieletto ed il solito valido apporto di Bovolenta. Ecco, casomai, non mi sta piacendo Romanò, in questo torneo. Della qualificazione, ormai non parlo più.

Ho notato che Romanò dagli europei è calato, secondo me per sistemare i difetti che aveva in passato quindi è in quella fase un po' così-così, i punti li fa ma gli manca ancora un po' di costanza, un po' come Michieletto un paio di anni fa

@@Kio_186può essere e lo spero, perché sembra uno di quelli che, se matura, può incidere tanto. In passato ha fatto vedere colpi micidiali ed una sicurezza che mi auguro concretizzi presto. Abbiamo bisogno dell'opposto, anche se mi sento di affermare che il vero asso di questa generazione lo abbiamo in Michieletto!

It’s so brilliant that Italian players on the wings whose median age is like 24 or sth are so mentally strong. Unlike the US who kind of chocked in decisive moments this time. Nice job from 🇵🇱

@@blupampurio5995 in realtà non molto, visto che il 3-0 su USA e 3-1 su Cuba nel ranking ci porta a 11,75, seconda dopo la Polonia. Buoni punti di vantaggio per posto alle Olimpiadi

Ed il tutto senza un opposto da 15/20 punti, la mancanza di uno come Rychlicki è pesantissima. Yuri è un bravo ragazzo, un bravo giocatore ma non riesce ad avere continuità, nel mettere giù la palla. Mentre Ale Bovolenta, che in futuro sarà anche un fuoriclasse, al momento forse non può garantire quelle prestazioni da tot di punti a partita, spero il contrario. Negli altri reparti siamo completi, però non si può sovraccaricare Michieletto e Lavia, farei girare un pó anche Luchino Porro che può starci alla grandissima.

The best defensive game of VNL 2024 was from both teams, so they needed to compete in the attacking game. Italy executed this much better last night. The USA team had many chances but made numerous attacking errors. If only TJ had reduced attack mistakes, the game would have been very different.

i’m team italy, but i agree! it just wasn’t his day. he’s usually unstoppable. i hope our teams can meet again and play against each other when everyone’s in top condition, that’ll be a sight!

USA must use their YOUNG PLAYERS, They should focus to train the Younger Ones. Defalco, Ensing, Tuaniga, Jendryk, where is Patch? Hanes, Fernandez, Gasman, and other young players.

Moim zdaniem należy wyróżnić Russo i Giannelli w tym meczu .Wszyscy zagrali dobrze. W tym sezonie u Włochów działa każde ogniwo , każdy daje z siebie wszystko i gra świetnie . Lavia i Michieletto - co można jeszcze powiedzieć na Ich temat? Może zacytuję naszego komentatora ,,Michieletto i Lavia zawojowali świat w 10 minut na dwóch turniejach " - myślę, że ładnie powiedziane
I believe that USA is not stable. They were not at their greatest selves. They already led the points and couldn’t maintain dominant. And also kinda bad defense. Italy really grew up after 1 year

Well done Italy after the previous defeat. Tight game with the first and 2nd sets won by Italy just in their final stages. This way USA put themselves in an awkward position cause they may not get a spot in the final round. USA have to face Brazil in the last week. Their experiment in the first week may turn out to be costly. I understand that biased female commentator that event nr 1 is the Olympics this year. Facing top teams is one of the best ways to prepare for it though.

Too complaisant for team Usa. And middle blocker has always been their waterloo plus when the opponent takes over they lose their composure particularly defalco. At this rate it is unlikely for them to win the olympics nor vnl to say the least
It was a weird match. USA lead both sets 1 and 2. 17-14. Just couldn't finish it off. Great match. Italians fought for their life. Anderson and Delfaco played poorly. USA libero got out played by Italys. Passing in general was poor.

Passing, position, TJ getting blocked. Just was not our day. All good
This was unwatchable. Why did Speraw leave Defalco in so long when he clearly was having a bad night. Some of the missed dinks were just painful to watch. I'm not sure the US can take anything positive away from this match - they looked bad in all areas.

i was in the stadium and it hurt seeing all those spikes go out lol. i think today was just unfortunate as everyone was off their game, except maybe shoji. better luck next games!

Yes and it's understandable. Italian players were young but been playing for many years, shall I say very experienced players too same with USA, so outçome of the match is expected. Younger are powerful than aging players.
So disappointing performance for the USA. They always had the oppurtunity but when it comes to the end of the set they loose it and not holding of the lead. 😢 Hopefully they adjust next time and be consistent with reception.

3-0 win is not lucky, mommy!! This young Italians really swept and forced those veterans to mop the floor. Imagine how 22 years-old Michieletto destroyed the old guys 😂 thank god that USA used their veterans more often as their younger generation cant do anything 🤤
