POINTE EXERCISES FOR FOOT & ANKLE STRENGTH AND STABILITY - Ballet Barre | natalie danza

Improve your foot and ankle strength on pointe with these simple but effective exercises to the beautiful music of Bizet's Carmen (Habanera).
Strong, stable and controlled pointe work starts with a strong and stable body. Feet, ankles, legs and abdominals are fundamental to this. There isn't always time in a pointe class to go through all these exercises but you can supplement your pointe training with exercises like these at home.
IMPORTANT - NEVER START POINTE WITHOUT THE SUPERVISION OF A BALLET TEACHER. POINTE SHOULD ONLY BE PRACTICED AT HOME ONCE YOU HAVE A GOOD UNDERSTANDING OF THE PROPER TECHNIQUE.

Keep working one two feet and building strength until you can do it with one foot. Lots of repetition with good technique will get you there :)

very nice combo. be careful, when you come down from pointe on straight legs in 1st position, I noticed your ankle rolls forward which indicates you are trying to hold turn out from the ankle and not top of the hip

Hi Natalie, this got me going again after a two week break - summer holidays - I've done the workout twice already and aim to do it three times a week to keep and improve my strength over the summer! Just wanted to ask a quick question, did you ever struggle to get right over your shoes, and if so what helped?

Hi Lucy, you can absolutely do this in ballet flats just going up to your demi-pointe. It’s actually great for building strength before pointe! :)
