He is great role model for all professional athletes. It also speaks to his dominance that he is thinking about his fans with 21 km to go on a steep climb in the Giro. I think of Rodger Federer and Tadej as similar in temperament-- supremely confident, yet gracious and humble.

Chris Horner: I'm pretty sure I speak for more people than me when asking if you can do a video describing what it's like to climb a grand tour mountain stage. I will never cease to be amazed by the spectacle watching riders part the sea of thousands of crazed spectators who are yelling in your ear all the way up the mountain. Watching the moto camera from behind a lone rider climbing a mountain is probably my favourite sports image. It is a beautiful sight. Quite a difference from the recon of the lonely mountain you may have done three months previous.

Not only was Pogacar dominant in this Giro, so was the UAE "B" team he brought with him. Chris understandably gave them knucklehead awards for bringing a sprinter, Juan Molano, and a guy going for top 10 finishes in the time trials, Mikkel Bjerg, plus assorted other strange tactics. But to me this shows this Giro was just well-paid training for Tadej AND Team UAE. We'll soon find out if that was a smart move for them.

Though we all expected this to happen three weeks ago when the Giro started, when Pog actually demonstrated his dominance it was incredible to watch. On this stage, Pog beat the previous best time of Nairo Quintana during the ITT of the 2014 Giro by almost one whole minute. This was after he had already done 130 km, climbed Monte Grappa once before and was paced up the first half of the climb by his teammates, who could obviously only ride at their own comfort level. What he could have achieved under similar circumstances as Quintana, who started fresh and had to climb only once, is truly mind boggling.

Without Pogacar, this Giro would have be so boring. We would end up watching staring contest between Thomas vs Martinez for 3 weeks. At least, it's fun to watch Pogacar demolishing his rivals. It's like watching a video game .. Mario Bros..or a bowling ball hitting the pin...then a thrilling chase to catch Pellizari (twice), you know like a handicap race 🤣🤣. He pretty much cherry picked which stage they wanted to win, the entire team executed the plan to the perfection. For B team, UAE certainly is the strongest team. The only GC action (besides Pogacar) worth to watch was just one mountain stage where Martinez dropped Thomas. After that, not much going on between them. Week 3, the GC riders was pretty much riding together to the finish line. Even the final mountain stage failed to bring any spectacle from the rest of the GC. At least last year Giro ended up with a thrilling upset. This year, the organizer failed to create a thrilling ending by putting a stupid long descent after 2x accent. 🤦‍♀🤦‍♀Do they expect a thrilling chase so the riders risking their lives? (i guess they already forgot about Gino).🙄 I'm glad there's no crazy downhill chasing happened. The gap to Pogacar was so big and the gap between Thomas group to Martinez group was so small, so there's nothing to worry about anyone leap frog anyone. It could have been a thrilling ending with Martinez and Tiberi dropped Thomas in the climb ... but it get snuffed out on the descent. Yeah...Anti Climactic.🙄🙄

just a reminder in the last three TdF, the 3rd was at more than 7 min, the rest at more than 10 min. Grand Tours right now are just a two men game. And there, they couldn't give it all carelessly because they had to control each other. When there is only one of those two (in top form) at the start, instead of the 3rd/4th, it is the 2nd to be left at 10 min

Yesterday's ride by Pog was incredible to watch, and I say this as not a fan of his before this race, but with increasing admiration for what he's achieved and his head gone about it, but what I found even more incredible was the way in which, with the exception of Majka, the UAE domestiques were able to drop the majority of those from other top teams who are not terrible climbers. Love other thing that crossed my mind is why did Ineos let Martinez leave? Who else do they have for Grand Tours apart from possibly Bernal, but even if he could get back to anywhere near his previous form I don't think it's enough, and even if he does I don't see where the support riders are. It was also very odd to see Visma-Leesabike not show anything in this race. I know van Aert was supposed to come but didn't due to injury, and Uijtdebroeks was doing ok until he had the withdraw, especially after what they did last year. So my question is - is this a one off Giro because the Tour is so close and it's Olympic year, or is it that if only one of the superstars, Pog, Rog, or Jonas turn up at a race then we'll see this over and over again, and that the Tour is going to be the only competitive GT, because the top riders will all go to that for their respective teams? I'm not taking anything away from Pog, but I've been really underwhelmed with the racing in this Giro.

Barring an unexpected accident for Tadej Pogacar, Tadej will win The Gyro for 2024 running away. Simply put, Tadej's class was too much for the GC teams. Even with a team that was spoken as "their B squad" the commentator's words not mine, Tadej gave me the impression that he was using this grand tour (Incredible to even contemplate this) as a training session for Le Tour. UAE went all out today, and it was magnificent to watch. Tadej left the contenders in an almost insulting way, wow! If Jonas, Primoz, and Remco come in with their team stacked to the hilt and Tadej bring his strongest team, man the fireworks could be one for the books. I hope Jonas and Wout are at 100% to make this a legendary Tour de France.

On paper the UAE TdF squad looks pretty amazing with the addition of Yates, Ayuso, Almeida and Soler. But I can see how this might not be as effective as it looks. Too many cooks. Not all second tier GC guys have what it takes to be super domestiques in the mold of Majka or Kuss or Novak.

Pogacar 10 minutes in front in the fastest Giro ever. Managed by Gianetti. Funded by unlimited money. Climbs while smoking a pipe and riding in his slippers. Many sections of the media not allowed to even discuss it. UCI turning a blind eye. Good people having blind faith. It’s really sad to see doping in cycling again. I say again, but if Riccardo Ricco can be believed, doping never really left cycling
