Indeed, makeup brings up "the lines" of the face, the lines becoming more visible their changes also become more visible enhancing the impression of expressiveness, I think. Also, looking at every other clip, he's just as expressive

Blending those baroque fashions with the cyber aesthetic as you see in his wig. I hope to do it at least a little justice. Such a beautiful inspiration. "Daze" Lyrics Rolling down the free way, master to the speed of light, Screaming up in the air, bursting through the night No rest, I've stayed here too long, It's time to move on Reality's a three way, a scenery defined By tomorrow dubbed a mystery and the past just blurry lines If there's ever been injustice in my name, I bow unto blame And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bitter sweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn? Drifting like a cast off, the shadows got it good With constant companions, would that I could Further afield my nemesis on stilts is gaining on me So I crawl across the state line, to another state of being Holding on for dear life to the better days I've seen Long for the comfort of your loving arms, your passions, your charms And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bitter sweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn? Did you ever feel your love eclipsing the sun I give you the reason I'm still on the run Disappear in the heavy glare of neon And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bitter sweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn!

First time I heard this song back in 2014 was from the Finnish radio. Back then I was working in a night shift and my work was sharing newspapers in the coyntryside with a car. They played this song almost every night for maybe 2 weeks because it was just relealed and every time I heard it was just as magical. Imagine driving trough the countryside all alone in the dark of night and then this song starts playing. It was pure magic. The memory still gives me goosebumbs. Such a great song with great melody, lyrics and vibe.

if you know something of the lore & legends of masks Marko's performance takes on a whole new meaning. masquerading is not just about hiding identity. in some cases it allows the mask wearer to become someone else - to channel other personalities. not just hidden facets of our own personality brought to the surface but archetypes too. curiously the Jester or Fool is one of these archetypes - a character at peace within a contradictory world - who uses humour to illuminate hypocrisy. often thought of as an agent of chaos as nothing is viewed in quite the same way after the jest. deep down we all know the character in this video. we might be watching Marko giving a performance but it's the Jester behind his eyes. still an incredible song & an intense & slightly creepy performance.

Lyrics! Rolling down the freeway, master to the speed of light, Screaming up in the air, bursting through the night No rest, I've stayed here too long, It's time to move on Reality's a three way, a scenery defined By tomorrow dubbed a mystery and the past just blurry lines If there's ever been injustice in my name, I bow unto blame And you can give me everything I need this way We'll be loving till the first light of the day Set the world on fire with bittersweet desire To chase away the night, let the whole world burn Set the world on fire for bliss in sweet denial, oblivion and peace Will you let me burn? Drifting like a cast off, the shadows got it good With constant companions, would that I could Further afield my nemesis on stilts is gaining on me So I crawl across the state line, to another state of being Holding on for dear life to the better days I've seen Long for the comfort of your loving arms, your passions, your charms And you can give me everything I need this way… Set the world on fire... Did you ever feel your love eclipsing the sun I give you the reason I'm still on the run Disappear in the heavy glare of neon Set the world on fire...

Nice... ...although I've actually been imagining some crazy crossover ideas...in which Cicero and a female Listener **do** fall in love... ...and their eldest daughter, taken from them against their wishes, winds up being raised in, of all places...Gotham City. Growing up to eventually become a certain infamous counterpart to Arthur Fleck... And "Daze" is the perfect song for when Luna Harley Quincy (as I've dubbed her) finally stops holding back and embraces Arthur as her one and only...while also accepting their personas as Harley Quinn and Joker; while they "let the whole world burn."

This is just phenomenal - this is what music was like in the 80s when it was new. This is about music, psychology, and imaginative video craftsmanship. This popped in my recommendations a couple of days ago and I’m back to it tonight because the music and imagery stuck with me. The harlequin makeup is by far the star of this video, with everything happening around him supporting his image & costume. It’s a pretty mind-blowingly unselfconscious thing to do in these times. It’s liberating to say the least. Reminds me of Cindy Sherman’s photography. Gives me lots of ideas…

Such a great band, literally everything I hear is just so good. If that's not good enough, the music videos are all cinema quality. In a day an age where people just slap auto-tune over everything and yell gibberish over a beat to find success, I'm glad there are still band out there that challenge the way you think, that make you want to listen to literally every word and to make their music videos into short stories. Ok so my thoughts on this video: Contrarily to what most peoeple complain, I love Marko's falsettos, they were perfect in Cradled in Love and they are now in Daze, I guess Marko's vocals never let me down he has one of the most perfect voices I have ever heard. Regarding the video, seems close to some they have made before in terms of cinematics, the meaning seems to be a criticism on greed and luxury in my opinion. My only "complaint" is the instrumental part... I expect way more from Olli or Jaska, the guitars spend the whole song playing chords and octaves like the intro of Fire, my thought is that they can do better than that. I bet people will say "Oh here is another picky guitar player who only wants to hear solos and shit", no I like to hear balance, for me the instrumental part could be much more interesting, if they "showed off" a little more, I mean take the example of Running out of Time, Given and Denied... I don't ask for solos I just ask for a little more variation, regarding solos there songs which ask for it some others don't, Revolution Roullete is one of the songs that clearly asks for a great astonishing solo, yet all it gets is an interlude... In the end I'm looking forward for the whole album, I'll definitly buy it.

Agree with everything, although the guitar thing didn't bother me much because the focus of the song is on the piano and the vocals and they're brilliantly blended. In a way I think the greater focus on the piano over the guitars nicely evokes the theme of the song you propose, as it moves the song away from a mainstream filled with guitars as the primary melodic instrument.

I usually don't listen to music videos all that much because I rather use my imagination to tell what the song is about, but its almost as if Poets of the Fall give a big "Fuck you" to my imagination and come up with something better than I could ever dream of

KZread shouldn't always have those ads over imposed at the end of each video. Anything older than 2021 wasn't made with that stuff in mind, and it often ends up hiding beautiful final images. Love this video! There's a lot of stuff going on, some good production values, but still the emphasis is on an amazing performer - both his voice and his character. I loved it!

Mi Ow Oh, it tells a story, only thing is it's not a straight forward one. You need to think a bit about it and pay attention to the video... It's open to different interpretations and that makes it even more interesting, just like some of their other videos, songs and lyrics. I love this about PotF, they are not an easy band in any way, which is something to be thanked for.

All day I listen to that song. Read comments. And I have my own version of the meaning of this clip. In short, the essence of the song about how a person tries to start a new life, to start again, stop overspending, to burn their lives, and so on. The Joker is a dark, celebrate the essence of man, his temptations, passion for entertainment. Most of the songs a person experiences a break-up, it's hard to break the habit. Joker indulges in every possible way. Bring It On! Burn this world! - He shouts, strongly provokes. Man tries to deceive themselves and deceive the Joker. Burning his past life, thinking that now everything has changed, everything will be different. When playing bridge song, the girl has clearly decided to break with the past. But as the end of the clip shows the essence itself can not be destroyed, the Joker can not be burned, and he was waiting for a chance to come back!
