Poetry: "And the days are not full enough" by Ezra Pound (read by Tom Hiddleston) (12/05)

"Next, at just 4-lines long, American-born poet, Ezra Pound, writes about the gathering pace of days and what we all, ultimately, leave behind."
"And the days are not full enough" by Ezra Pound
And the days are not full enough
And the nights are not full enough
And life slips by like a field mouse
Not shaking the grass.

És kitöltetlenek mind a napjaink (Dvorcsák Gábor Imre fordítása)
És kitöltetlenek mind a napjaink
És az éjszakáink is mind üresek
S létünk mint mezei egér iramlik
Meg nem rázva a füvet.

The background music is sickening. It is not a maudlin poem. It is one of beauty. The music sours that beauty.

I often wish to have 72 hours in a day. That way, I can actually sleep 8hours straight. That way, my life won't be filled with sorrows and grey. That way, every Valentine's Day I would stay.

I like short poems. They tell more... including silence.

His writing precise. It's almost insulting. Yet do We learn? Watching a hawk take a squirrel, and how This thing in life we do well (to observe.) I should learn... how to punctuate.

"American-born"?! Nay: American! Though abused by his country-as many courageous speakers of the truth have been-he remained an American to the end, and wished (tho it didn't happen) to be buried in Idaho.
