I love how her wardrobe reflects how she feels through out the movie . At the beginning she's wearing yellow which suggests that she's happy and in a good place in her life . Next she's seen wearing black which shows that she's in mourning and that blue shirt she wears means she's sad and the end she's in white which suggests that she's whole again .

Yes, I absolutely loved that how they used her wardrobe to tell you where she was mentally throughout the film; loved seeing her get her confidence back by the end and really putting in a bigger effort in how she looked.

At 11:00 when you asked what she was doing, she was burning the end of her braids (extensions) so they won’t unravel. It’s an old school technique to seal the hair. Some people still use it today for the ends of their braids for that 90s look. So glad y’all watched this!

@OctoKrool At @10:57, she is burning the end of her braids. Back in the 90s, when black girls got their hair braided with synthetic extensions, they would burn the end of the braid to seal the ends so the braid wouldn't unravel. Nowadays, the braids are sealed differently, but some black girls still burn the end of their braids that way.

Lol I noticed yall was like " What is she doing?" The part where Janet is lighting the ends of her hair...well the braid she has in are extensions and its not human hair its synthetic so in order to seal the ends you would do so with a lighter
I love throwing this movie on. I was really into poetry so this was up my alley and Janet Jackson was an inspiration for many hairstyles! I got the braids after seeing this in highschool and then I saw the music video where she had red curly hair and I died my hair :)
You guys have to do The Wood next!
If I remember correctly there was a bit of drama on the set of Poetic Justice. Apparently Janet Jackson demanded that Tupac take an H.I.V. test because of the kissing scene. He refused to even consider it, feeling he was being singled out because of his background. He didn't concede, the smooching commenced, and that was that.
You should do Above The Rim, another film that shows the greatness of Tupac’s acting ability. Plus, since you did this and Juice, it would make sense to complete the Pac saga.

It's very true that it's "easier said than done". I was in a verbally and physically abusive relationship years ago and it's still hard for me to trust men. Whenever someone gets angry or raises their voice, I have severe PTSD from what happened. Trust me, I really want to be in a relationship, but that part of me that was hurt, won't let me trust anyone. Good news is, I'm working on it. But, it really is easier said than done. :)

I watched this movie for a class on hip hop cinema, and the characters disrespecting each other is very common, either for showing how tough and strong you were or for joking. Especially women. Back then women fit into two categories: b*tches and hoes, nothing else unless they are your family. I really loved the poetry Justice made, and all the nice connectivity of African Americans through the family reunion and the cultural festival scenes. If you can they're were a couple of movies i watched through that class I'd like to see you react to: The Hate U Give, a more modernand a very powerful movie imo, and Save the Last Dance I think it was a 2000s movie.
