Its crazy that this role is what brought NPH back into the eyes of society. After his time on Doogie Hower MD he struggled with getting his stardom back. Its hilarious that bit part in a low budget stone comedy would be his golden ticket.

Most people don't get the wiping of the sweat joke if you didn't watch Van Wilder. Great call back.

Neil Patrick Harris is in this playing this version of himself as a favor to him by the director Danny Leiner. He had a reputation as a choir boy and was typecast because of that, so this was an attempt to get rid of it. It worked. Just weeks after this came out he landed a part in "How I Met Your Mother" that he freely admits he never would've gotten without this appearance. Also, it's one of those movies where you forget just how incredibly funny it is until you rewatch it. I don't want to spoil the sequels, but they're just as good (for the most part) and are worth it for the cameos alone.

You kind of mentioned it, but this was before NPH rebranded. To the vast majority he was still Doogie Howser. Having sweet innocent Doogie admit he was tripping balls was pure genius.

White Castle burger do have a unique taste compared to others. They are good and takes a lot to feel filled.

That's because they're technically steamed. The burgers never touch the grill. They sit on top of the onions while they're cooking, and the heat and steam rise through the patty. It's fun food nerd shit.

I was recently at an event where Neil was in the audience next to my row, and his husband was onstage performing and omg Neil is like the nicest most chill dude ever and even more hilarious in person. So humble. He offered to make cocktails and do magic tricks for someone in the audience at their house and his husband whos a chef would cook. He stage dived up and off and was just genuinely a ball of energy. And so well dressed. Love him!. This is basically his energy level but without the hoes and drugs.

He's the best! I never watched hImym but I loved him in dr horrible and his series of unfortunate events is absolutely fantastic and the best book remake I've ever seen. He's up there with jack black for me. Like if they created immortality those two should get it first lol

Yes White Castle is really good but it’s almost the nostalgia of it that makes it so well. You have to eat them fresh or else they could get soggy if you take them to go. And it’s worth getting a double cheeseburger slider vs two single sliders. They cook them super uniquely on the grill with onions and the bun being steamed on top of the burger while it cooks through.

This is a classic, back in college me and my roomate would get white castle and watch this movie once in a while on the weekends and the movie was filmed at our college and surrounding areas as well. good times

White Castle is based in central Ohio and can be found around the surrounding states. They are memorable burgers, but the running joke is that these burgers will also "slide" right out of you.

White Castle is awesome. Truly a crave thing. Midwest, East Coast, find one and have one. Wisconsin and Michigan have them and they are close to Canada

The Movie was called Harold and Kumar get the Munchies when it was released in the UK. We don't have White Catle over here so no one would know would any idea what it was about going by the original name.

Here in Canada, you can find prepackaged White Castle sliders in some supermarkets. A friend of mine bought some before but i havent had one in a few years. Cant beat actual White Castle burgers but its the best we can do in Canada.

Freakshow is Christopher Meloni from Law and Order SVU. The cameos for this movie are crazy considering it was a low budget Jersey movie. Fresh white castle sliders are amazing. Like legendary especially if your flying high.

Freakshow is so f-ing funny. Christopher Meloni was also hilarious in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. And he's in Bound, the first movie from the Wachowskis, which is totally worth the watch.

Hey fellow Canadians. Years ago you used to be able to buy frozen White Castle burgers from Giant Tiger (if you have one near you) and I even seen them at Metro in the past.

That was hilarious! I saw this movie way back when it came out 20 years ago and was in my senior year in high school. Good times, different times. I still have it on dvd and the sequels are also great! Salute from Holland 😊

Holy smokes! That guy in the police station in his pajamas who tells Harold and Kumar they should go is my local CTV News Windsor weatherman Gary Archibald.

Looking back on this movie in 2023 is interesting. Weed is now basically legal and socially accepted, and so many of the jokes in the movie are considered "offensive" and would never be in a modern movie. I love it!

This movie made me cry laughing back in the day😂. Especially the NPH parts. Also, dont know if u know, the guy who played Freakshow is the guy from law and order svu. Im in NJ, so very familiar with white castle. Yeah, u can eat 30 burgers, but make sure u are near a bathroom the rest of the night and possibly the morning after😂 except for the chicken rings w/cheese sandwiches, they just give u gas. U cant eat WC without incident if its ur first time ever or have gone a long time without eating it. Also, they sell them frozen in the grocery store.

Harold and Kumar Xmas is one of my favorite Christmas movies ever well that and Friday after next

Kentucky native here. White Castles are all over the place and yes they are as good as Harold & Kumar make them out to be. Most of them are open 24 hours and there's always drive-thru lines wrapped around the building when bars start closing. It's the perfect drunk/stoner food and that WC taste hits different. The pricing is accurate for the time and has gone up since then but a slider is still less than a dollar.

In 2004 I loved this movie so much I named a puppy Harold. After a quick check the next day it became Maria. I think I had White Castle burgers for the first time after that.

As far as the actual White Castle, as someone who didn’t grow up with it (it’s from the Northeast) I wasn’t upset having gone to one when I visited New York but it’s just a fast food burger…it’s different but it’s still a fast food burger.

The WC restaurants use those condiment squeeze bottles when preparing orders but those include a special one that makes a huge difference: A preprepared mixture of a certain type of ketchup mixed in (a specific ratio) with a certain type of mustard. Just get that first, the standard basic version of the WC hamburger, it'll be something you'll never forget! 😋 GOOD NEWS! "Although White Castle has never opened any restaurants in Canada, Canadians have been able to purchase White Castle hamburgers from the frozen foods section in select Canadian grocery and convenience stores since 2015 and more recently at Walmart." 🙂 It's been found that putting them in the microwave COMPLETELY UNOPENED (as opposed to the vent hole microwaving method stated on the box) will yield a more passable substitute for getting them fresh, unless you want to take the trouble to steam them, add a pickle slice, and apply a ketchup/mustard mixture. 😋
