When she says our rectangular box she means the chat room. The metaphor is that the chat room is a garden ans every message that her and her "lover" send its a rose they're planting. In the next chorus she said our balloons are gray and blue because those are the colors of the balloon/bubble messages. She said i'm getting dizzy and she gasps because they are flying in the balloon (the relationship is going well). This is a love song about falling for someone via social media :) modern love if u will.

I see text messages and Jieun being author in the comments but random fact - IU legit has insomnia so her updating at night and not sleeping are true to life; a more funny story was her label told her she needed a love song for her 2017 album so one night she penned Through the Night (night letter in Korean) as a love poem to those who also can't sleep. It's one of her most beautiful songs and what she's once called her most IU love song. Even up to her latest album she has references to trying medications and brain fog from sleep deprivation and songs she's written trying to lull herself to sleep.

Yes! Blueming really is a love song about two people texting! And if you notice on imessage our speech balloon is blue and the other is gray! Hence all of iu’s thrown objects are in blue (and blue roses) and the gray reply!

I interpreted the house shaking as the vibration of an incoming text. I love your interpretation too! Fun fact: The Korean word for “Author” is 지은이 (Ji-Eun-I), which is IU’s real name Lee (pronounced Ee) Ji-Eun. Also, the “i” can be added to a name as a cute way to say someone’s name; Jieun-i. so when she says “That’s Me” it’s both her being the writer of the text and her being Jieun-i 😊
