PODCAST: SINGLE & SATISFIED with The Makhs Snrs | South African Couple YouTubers

There is nothing inherently wrong with being single, and there is nothing inherently good about being in a relationship. We often look at marriage as the grand prize. In today's instalment, we unpack navigating being single and satisfied.

This came at such a right time in my life!! Been a Christian single for more than 6 years .. and my family have been on my case about finding a person to grow with because I am 27. I even felt a little weird and started telling myself that whatever guy that comes my way I am just going to accept. Having listened to such wisdom, I am glad I can go back to my values and continue to work on myself because I am now 100% convinced that there is absolutely nothing wrong with me. When the time comes I will be ready. Thanks for sharing such wisdom. I am happy that this came at a time where my eyes where now going all over the place, looking for "the one".

Ooh yes, Been there, my 28_30 was soo hard , couldn't believe that this marriage thing was just not happening, it was pressure from Church, Family , Society and myself as well as I also couldn't understand why was I not meeting a right one . Im 33 and still not marriage but I'm sooo grateful that as presured as I was still, somehow God just made sure that I didn't marry any how bcoz definitely I would have choosen a wrong partner for a wrong reason and it would hv ended in real tears . I'm now in a far better state such that even if (God forbit) I were not to marry in life , I would still be fulfilled with life and God (ofcoz two is better than one and should be marrying soon🤪 ) but I'm so over pressure, that stage of pressure do pass shem and you will finally marry right and for a Godly purpose. Society shouldnt pressure people into marriage when there are soo many couples even in the house of God that are failing , depressed and losing it,

Many thanks to The Makhs Snrs for imparting us with such wise words. As a 25 year-old believer, I am only now starting to appreciate the beauty and blessing of being single. I am having the time of my life. I am spending time with God. Fellow believers whom are to be single, take this time and spend it with God. You know that there are broken parts of you that need healing; areas of your life that need to be addressed; your assignment/calling needs to be revealed to you and at often times these things are only revealed in your singleness. You need to be properly tuned/aligned to God by shutting down the noise that comes from social media and society at large. Let God tell you who you are and not the world. Rather take your time instead of rushing things, "speed kills". Remember what Matthew 7:6 says. God bless you.

This is so poignant at my age of 29. But for me the pressure comes from me and social media, that feeling of missing out when I see my friends on their second babies, good careers, supportive husband's, building homes and here I am in a foreign land doing doctoral studies at 29 and single. Fascinatingly my parents constantly remind me to take my time and support my singleness

The topic is "single and satisfied" I just didn't get that today unfortunately. It makes me sad when singleness has to be spoken about in with marrriage in mind, this makes this conversation so problematic. What about those not dating? What if I never get married? What about those who know their worth, who practice self love but still don't get married? What if you ask the right questions and still you are met with disappointment? It's incredibly hard being single as a Christian woman because you are constantly reminded to look forward to marriage and then women sit in their latter years blaming themselves for not being good enough for marriage because they did all the right things and still didn't get married. We forget that married is a gift. And no amount of waiting well guarantees marriage. We need to start honouring singleness in the same way we honour marriage as they are both gifts in their own right.

Big facts!!! With all the respect to the lovely Snrs, and lovely couple... This sounded more like "Single, but preparing for marriage". Maybe the title should be adjusted. We do need more content where singleness is spoken of in isolation from marriage.

Fast forward to now, I'm actually not even interested in relationships anymore. I'm no longer desperate because I've dealt with myself.

This is exactly what we need to hear, I mean back in the village most individuals don't really understand this type of information, I believe most think it's white men teachings until you hear the kind of nonsense issues or problems married people struggle with, foundational problems which our own leaders, our pastors themselves are not really keen to know. People are married we see but the reality is the marriage is just a status no happiness in it, no God in it.. Like Benjamin Zulu says we only settle for happily single or happily married and I have to say all this needs knowledge cause let's not forget the lack of knowledge is the beginning of stupidity 💐❤️thank you so much for this beautiful and true message.

Some people come into relationships looking for love and support they never got from home.... It's so unfair to put your partner onto such a responsibility. My advice is heal your childhood trauma first and seek God. Then worry about finding a partner.

I love what Dr Makhetha said "You need to get your single status right. 1/2 + 1/2 is not 1". So many of us get into relationships with baggage and bleed on the next person hoping they will fix us. This is indeed a word!!! Thank you very much guys😧😧. This is the content we have signed up for 👌🏽❤❤❤

The other day I was listening an installment with the max about childhood trauma, it is just that, I need to heal first and be complete. Don't be too needy as well, it puts the other person in a ackward position you expect too much from them. Wow

Although it does get lonely at times but honestly I'm at a really good space. I've worked so hard to be where I am (spiritually) I can't let all my work go to waste because I pick someone from a desperate place. It's not worth it.
