I love your podcasts. So interesting. Your excitement and passion really shines through. I am currently trying to heal from hashimotos and stomach issues that go with it. I just started making kefir and it seems to be helping. I am going to ferment vegetables soon as well.

Hope they help you Sunny! Keep in mind you may go through a healing crisis/detox which can seem like a bad thing but is helpful in the long run. You can learn more about that here: www.culturedfoodlife.com/the-healing-crisis-and-cultured-foods/

Ever since I got put on Prednisone for MONTHS....I got off that shit and my joints were so painful (especially knees) I had to debate whether to walk or crawl to the restroom during a month and a half I was bedridden. I wonder if these fermented foods can heal that damage? I have just started lactofermenting and brewing kombucha

Anything you can do to assist the body in healing will be beneficial for you. Good sleep, any exercise, water, a clean diet and of course cultured foods. I've seen people heal from truly horrible situations!

My baby who is 4 months old has eczema as well as myself since starting making our own kefir from your milk grains:) I'm sure you remember me I've commented quite a bit sorry:😏 how long will we have eczema and how do I know if I should stop consuming milk kefir? My two sons have had a very sore throat the past 2 days and have runny noses. Is this all part of the "detox"? I have felt like a new woman since starting on kefir but the eczema is embarrassing esp since I had a massage today and the therapist saw it on my arm. I am surprised I love kefir so much. I crave it and look forward to it every single day. I am consuming about two cups and day and my kids are consuming about half cup each. They are neeborn(I breastfeed) 4,6 and 8. The newborn having eczema all of a sudden concerns me nut I have hope it's part of the process?🤷‍♀️

Mary don't apologize for commenting! I love hearing all your comments! Healing anything is a different process for everyone. There isn't one cure all for every person. Keep in mind that healing comes in all shapes and sizes and is affected by many factors. The rest of your diet/lifestyle, the amount of sleep you get, stress levels, medications, antibiotics, exercise and more all effect healing one way or the other. Flare ups can be a sign of healing/detox reaction so keep that in mind. I'm not a doctor, but I've seen this many times with my friends and others ive spoken with/helped. Hang in there! The other cultured foods help and work together as a team. I really recommend kombucha, kefir and cultured veggies all together. But you can go through a major healing crisis depending on how much you need it and the length of time differs for each person. I always suggest staying away from processed foods and excess sugar as well especially when healing. I don't eat perfect but when healing we were very strict so we could get better faster.

Mary, I feel the same way. Started kefir, and all of my symptoms are getting MUCH better except for my face, which has gotten much more red, itchy, and sometimes painful (dermatitis). Donna is very likely right! I've heard detox can last at least 3 weeks so hanging in there during week 2 of kefir! Hope you can do the same!

How do people KNOW that they have healed their gut ? ... and ... what does Kombucha do that Kefir does not ?

Hi Lars! You can tell by how you feel! For my daughter specifically. Her food allergies went away, her sinuses cleared, she no longer got chronic colds, her energy increased and much more. My husbands cater-acts quit growing, his energy increased and he slept better. Its truly different for everyone.
