Podcast Episode #3 -Mike Mulder On Ego, Mentors, and Cross-Training In the Martial Arts

Спорт

🔥 This is our final episode 3 of 3 in our ‪@schoolofselfprotection‬ mini-series. Mike and I talk about how ego pollutes the Martial Arts industry, the importance of mentors, and how cross-training is key to evolving. I really enjoyed this talk, it was my favorite episode as the topics resonated strongly with me, and they gave me an opportunity to share what Karate Unity is all about....evolution through cross training!

Thank you for this awesome podcast! I can't believe that Michiel also talks about ego, and how toxic the martial arts community can be. I think he is a great proponent and practitioner of Self Protection people still give him a hard time. I am happy I am not alone in this 👊

That’s great. Thank you so much for watching and appreciating this. I really enjoyed doing this episode as it gave me an opportunity to talk freely and openly about the value of cross training and good functional training. People get stuck in one organization and style and they need to Train with everyone

People always think nothing is going to happen to them... UNTIL IT DOES! It's best to be prepared.

With the risk of being labelled as a fanboy on my first response on a KZread clip I had the distinct pleasure of attending a lesson at Urban Combatives taught by Michiel tonight ... since seeing is believing and you don't learn swimming on dry land Keywords that come to mind; realistic drills filled with proper bio mechanics, real contact, great group athmosphere, humble knowledgeable teacher who emphasizes the agression switch for proper intent which is lacking in most disciplines Both the system and it's exponent are nothing more than the real deal From seeing the guy move and learning about the critic keyboard warriors ... I'm pretty sure he would seal your fate and this is coming from someone who generally hates tough talk

Love his channel. Can you get a hold of Geoff Thompson for a podcast? He taught Lee actually. And then after that you must get John "Awesome" Anderson who taught Geoff how to survive working the doors
