😒The investors and owner's took their profits, and bonuses just days before SVB failed. Covering their losses is a bailout. Moreover, it's a transfer of wealth from small, insured depositors, to large, uninsured depositors. Another way of looking at this transfer of wealth is to call it institutionalized theft. If you don't pay your car or homeowner's insurance premiums, you don't have coverage. Going forward, the same must be true for banks. If the banks don't pay, they don't have coverage. It seems like every 10 or 15 years there is a major problem with US financial institutions that require a bailout by the government, i.e. taxpayers.

Why don't we elect people to Congress with the same sound reasoning and sober minds? They didn't tap dance around to duck and dodge the question. They each gave answers that made sense.

I'm not sure if her closing comment about cynicism was meant to be dismissive or not of Scott's statement but he's 100% right. If you disagree and think these decisions aren't being made for profit and self interest, I can't help but pity your view of the world.

I personally didn't think Kara was putting him down. This interview was one of the best interviews on FTN and I appreciate these very sharp guests sharing their expert opinions which I completely agree with.

Ban the Chinese from investing is the USA period. It's not rocket science.

Silicon Valley Bank was poorly run. When the fed began raising rates, the bank should've quietly started selling its treasury bonds, that were going to lose money for the bank as long as the rates were being raised.

I don't understand the comment by Scott about Denmark. Denmark doesn't have a socialist economy from my understanding.

He didn't want to be sued for libel or slander. Thiel has shown that he'll go after people in court before. And has the money and lawyers to back it up. You can say it because you're a nobody, just like me. But Scott decribed what is happening behind the scenes brilliantly.
