I believe that your revolver is not made of all stainless steel. I believe the cylinder and the barrel are stainless steel, but the main frame is made of aluminum or, perhaps, scandium. Hence, the Airweight designation.

@@coreygendron3766 I don't have the same brand revolver,. I have one made by another maker, but it's essentially the same and it's a mix of steel and aluminum. Really lightweight and easy to carry, all day.

I’m definitely a minimalist too, revolver (S&W 640 Pro), knife (Spyderco Yojimbo 2), Leatherman (Skeletool), Apple phone, speedloader, and a 1921 silver dollar. Great review!!

Rather than try and find a direct replacement for that ink cartridge, you can use a syringe and refill it. You will need to plug then end with wax, but it's completely doable.

Ha Ha, Courtland Bates... Wasn't that one of the last things you could learn to do by calling a number on a matchbook? I mean the matchbooks that weren't selling how to make a living repairing VCRs?

swiss army knife, ebay generic flashlight, metal whistle, all contained in a small soft smartphone case. naa bugout1 22lr mini revolver with revision grips & 10 round speedstrip either holstered or in another same smartphone case. i can pull both cases out of my pockets and nobody knows what they contain. a whistle is essential for distress signaling. sometimes i add a bic lighter to the mix.

Actually Schrade didn't farm things out to Taylor. The 'real' Schrade ceased to exist when they closed up in 2004. Taylor Brands bought the Schrade, Uncle Henry and related names as well as some of the old Schrade designs and began having knives, etc. made in China. Taylor Brands also began having newer designs and tools manufactured under the Schrade brand and some of the other, related names like Uncle Henry, etc. So Schrade did actually make the tactical pen (or, if you prefer, probably had it made in a Chinese factory) - just not the original (real) Schrade - as a division of Taylor Brands. Taylor Brands were also licensed to make knives and related tools under the Smith and Wesson brand. A few years ago BTI tools - which also owns Smith and Wesson (or at least did at the time) - bought out Taylor Brands and so became the owner of the Schrade name and related brands.

Good video. Nice equipment. I don't question your choice of handgun. I also carry a J frame Smith and Wesson sometimes. What I don't understand or agree with is that you don't carry your handgun all the time. My handgun is no different than car insurance. I'm glad I have it, but pray to God that I never need it.

I EDC pretty much the same as you except I don't like leatherman tools I've had every one of them fail what I EDC now is an Erwin vicegrip multitool. I carry the same revolver a Swiss army treker and a flip phone, I don't want to become one of those people who have there face stuck in their phone like some phone zombie. I like to be aware of the situation around me at all times and I would just like to be able to make a phone call when I need to. Thanks for the video. Sam Adler

They're not. There's nothing on a D1 to stop it from just sliding out the end of the pen... nothing for the spring to push against. I did find some short refills that work when I add a ring of 2-part epoxy around them.

Direct replacements simply don't seem to exist. But I was able to find one that fits, it just doesn't have a 'flare' in the ink tube to keep it from sliding through the spring and out the pen. I solved that problem by adding some 2-part epoxy at the right spot. I've been using one for several months now with no issues.
