    Question 5: right answer should be C. They are in the review and there is a problem with aligning DoD. They can discuss the issue in the retro. Because retro will start right after review meeting. İn answer B, you don’t raise any issue in the retro meaning no discussion about the important matter. Also there is no design phase in agile. You can discuss all stories in the planning session.

    Hi, your line of thought is incorrect. Please re-watch the explanation which explains why B is correct. Discussing this in retro might help in future but it will not help to clear the mess out of the current situation.

    But the problem is that you are already done with the sprint review which is at the end of your iteration. Your increment doesn’t meet the DoD so you need to address that at the earliest. It doesn’t make sense to do it in the sprint review itself. Retro is a great place to discuss DoD because that’s still prior to the next sprint… no need for an unnecessary brainstorming session. Also, I realize this doesn’t explicitly say we are doing Scrum, but the use of the term “sprint” implies it. In Scrum the retro is the best place to discuss and modify the DoD.

    Hello Ray, thank you so much for your videos and explanations on the way, very helpful! I stuck on the question 4 though. Considering servant leadership approach I thought choosing option D (engage human resource to create a plan to avoid layoffs) is more correct one than option C (perform a benefit management plan - why it does make more sense if management already sees a benefit?). Thank you if you answer the question!

    Hi Ray, firstly amazing questions and explanations, very helpful. question 5 is a bit tricky as the phrasing of “the product has not meet the acceptance criteria” suggests to me that development for this product is done and therefore design was also done. Therefore C seems like a viable option as it provides learning to address in a subsequent iteration. Can you please provide some clarification on the interpretation?

  • @PMPwithRay

    @PMPwithRay

    9 ай бұрын

    Hi George, there is nothing wrong in your line of thought, except for the fact that the question stem is asking 'what should the PM do now to tackle the situation' rather than 'what should the PM do to avoid this in the subsequent iteration'...hence, tackling it in the design phase would make sense.

    Q5. As per tge Q text, tge project sprint already reached testing and acceptance criteria not met. Hence answer should be D. Definitely if the question was how the situation should have been tackled to avoid impacts, B is the answer. There is a language problem in the question unfortunately...

    @PMPwithRay yes, tricky Qs expected in exam. But that is not what I meant. Yet, for this particular sample test question, the answer B given is clearly not matching the question as I commented. It is understood this is not really a real 100% pmp question/ answer (at least the wording).

    In question 5, its mentioned that DoD problem was highlighted in SPRINT REVIEW meeting. Generally there is not much gap between REVIEW and RETRO meetings so option C looks fair choice. If ans D is correct then how does DESIGN Phase comes earlier than RETRO? Any thoughts?

  • @PMPwithRay

    The retrospective happens at the end of a sprint and a review happens during a sprint. Within a sprint as well, the design comes before testing.

    @@PMPwithRay first of all thanks for reply. Yes i understand that Retro happens at end of the sprint but Review is also during the end state of sprint (before retro) . My doubt was how the design phase comes between REVIEW and RETRO.

  • @PMPwithRay

    Hi, it might happen that the design modules get delivered is phases to the product development team, right? That way, outputs of one agile team become input for another agile team. Also, please note that a product iteration may take multiple sprints to deliver. So, retro does not happen till all the sprints are over.
