Rage and paranoia have also a huge part in its symptoms.

Yep I was diagnosed with Bipolar. It wasn’t until I started using a period tracker app that it was clear that my mood plummeted around 10 days prior to my period. Suicidal thoughts, missing work or crying at work, struggling to get kids to school for a week-every 3 weeks. A female GP, female psychologist and male Psychiatrist didn’t consider it. The medication I was given made me want to die. They kept saying give it another week. I had to stop taking it to save my own life.

PMDD sufferer here, too. I'm feeling it now. It sucks and can't get out of bed today. 😢 also misdiagnosed with BPD.

Im better as im taking benadryl and magnesium helped with suicidal thoughts, but i still get super aggressive in my thoughts and rage and super judgemental to myself and others, because every month is like that i feel hopeless God is the only one who keeps me here cause i love him so much i want to go home one day and he promised i will never suffer or cry anymore i will finally have peace until then i will live one day at a time

It seems other parts of the world have more awareness of PMDD than the US.

From America here. I have suffered with this now for 25 years! I can't even stand myself during those 2 weeks.

Well done promoting awareness for this! I’ve been fighting for help for 30 years and doctors ignore me. Doctors need to know they are no longer the experts and that most of us are intelligent enough to have done extensive research ourselves before coming to them. It’s a sexist medical system in Australia that needs to change.

I’ve had PMDD for over 30 years. I also just got diagnosed with Adenomyosis, could possibly have endo as well. Life has been hell at times. It’s been a long suffering and still is because I still “deal” with it. I really appreciate this video and these stories 💕 My heart goes out to fellow sufferers ❤

I'm sorry, but the PC speech of "PEOPLE who have periods" just kinda gets to me. Honestly, kinda makes me feel invalidated as a WOMAN. Just saying...

12 years for an accurate diagnosis was right on for mine. I started my period at 11, started experiencing symptoms at 13, and wasn't until I was 22 that I was diagnosed.

Symptoms for me at 13 and diagnosed officially at 35 after living with a bipolar diagnosis and arguing with Psychs from the age of 20 and borderline from the age of 22.

It's not 'severe fluctuations' in hormones. Its normal levels of hormones like other women but there is almost like an allergic reaction to them. 35 years on for me and I have learned so much about diet and lifestyle impacts. Its our modern day lifestyles that mean we have to do other things to our bodies to match our lifestyles instead of adjusting our lifestyes to our nature given cycles. Medications for me sent me worse. Access to self care finaincially is essential to a non western medical model. Otherwise a surgical prescription life is the way those who either don't know better or are at a finaincial disadvantage have to go. It is a super challenging way to live and quality of live diminishes without connection and desire to find and action recovery paths.
