We have had mass economic shut downs because the federal government let states handle quarantine instead of managing it themselves and building appropriate quarantine centres.

And jobkeeper/jobseeker was a labor/unions idea that the liberals have taken all the credit for. So you have to thank the economy not completely tanking for a LABOR policy.
