The throttle works in conjunction with the choke to keep the car running on a cold engine. It is NOT cruise control! The wiper switch is the knob up on the top of the dashboard. They are non electric wipers that work off the engine vacumn.

What do expect when you put a Millennial behind the wheel of a car like this?

@@gavindhailwal3432 Waaaaaaa! It is what it is. If you don't know how to drive the car, then study and learn about it before you get behind the wheel. Young people today don't want to take that extra step...they just want to get in and drive without knowing how to.

@@DK-bl6nu True. But it's great to see people closer to my age (29) drive old cars and actually get excited by it. My '50 Plymouth only attracts guys over 50 and is basically chick repellent.

I know....watching this idiot driving something he doesn't understand was making me sick. "Cruise Control".....smh. "Hey! Let's go for a ride in the rain when I don't know how to turn on the windshield wipers!" The switch is right in front of you on the dashboard! Duh.
Beautiful old car! We had a 1949 Special Deluxe when I was a kid. Windshield wipers are vacuum operated; the knob on the dash. Directionals were hand signals out the window. Remember what right turn, left turn and stop were? Every driver should.
Just took me back 15 years bouncing on the seat the way u did. You guys must be fabulous to be around. Reminds me or my good old friend who was in my cab. We were jetting down a hill bought of us bounced but him being 700 pounds his head smashed my roof. Good old times. Peace man's
Wow , I restored one a few years ago , what a fun custom resto , This one looks great !
Man I’m so jealous of you. What a great car
When you shift from first to second and from second to third you hand should be ON TOP of the shift knob not underneath. This prevents you from shifting into reverse or first and destroying the transmission of that beautiful car.
She very smooth in the gears ⚙️ . Dad had one back in 1963 to 1966 . Traded it on a black 55 Plymouth with red leather 👍🏻🇦🇺.
Turn signals were an "add-on" option back then
I love this design
Nice Plymouth
Tiiight! A walk around would be cool
Most cars from that era have the spotlight and that car also has 93 hp
Nice looking Plymouth. I have a 51 Belvedere and a 52 Cranbrook custom lowrider I'm working on
The only way that car would have cruise control, would be that you had it installed. That's the choke you were playing with...
@tomfournier4941

Actually it was the throttle. The choke would have stalled it. What he did there was very dangerous.
Took a 49 Chrysler Deluxe for a test drive. Saw a little smoke from the oil filler after the test drive. I was told that this is "normal" due to the lack of a PCV valve. Can you confirm that? Thanks

Don't ask the guy who made this video ANY questions. He knows absolutely nothing about vintage cars except that they look cool. He's a dunderhead with the carelessness with which he was driving that car and hamming it up for the camera. But to answer your question, it may have been trapped moisture escaping after driving it if had been sitting for so long. However, if you really want to know, there is a Facebook group about flat head 6 engines and another for 47' Plymouths. If you ask your question on there, those dudes will get back to with knowledgeable answers and quickly because they love their vintage cars. I have a 40 Plymouth 4 door and they've helped me many times. This guy who did this video will steer you down a path of misinformation that could cost you LOTS of money in repairs. Hope this helps.

Never, never let a Millennial drive a vintage car like this until they know the car and where the controls are at, first. Wiper knob...center top of the dash. Throttle....not cruise control. Also, look forward when driving and not back. smh

@@jondaley1094 If he been in front of that car when the driver had the throttle pulled out to it's maximum and his feet on the seat looking back at the camera man then he'd have had no time left. I've driven cars like this and owned one almost identical to this one. The guy driving was negligent in his operation of the vehicle. I'm glad he didn't hurt anyone.

I totally have to agree. I was shocked when he didn't know where the windshield wiper knob was. And the "cruise control" comment just made me want to slap him upside the head...in a loving way of course. And the "turn signal" comment. WTF! FYI, they STILL teach you in drivers ed "hand signals" should your turn signals not work. See what you get America when you "don't pay attention"? THIS kind of misinformation.

@@NYC1927 I agree with all the anti-Millennial comments above. One should know what they are talking about before doing a video. At least learn what what knob does what, don't show off (feet on seats demonstrating "cruise control"), etc.

Hello, I’m Nate. I have a 1950 deluxe Plymouth and I’m trying to figure out the sequence on shifting. Can you help me out ?

Young man. No cruise control. Period. Nice car. Learn about it first. Best regards.
Bruh u stick ur hand out the window to were ur gonna turn and
This car has no cruise control the choke work's in conjunction with Throttle. And to put the wiper's on it's the button in the center of the dash! You better park that car and give it to me😂
Wipers are on top of dash above Plymouth logo. Cars didn't have turn signals until 1955. You need to learn about cars before you show them. Also putting your wet shoes on those nice seats should be a crime. I'm not being hateful just stating my opnion.

You can get a flasher kit with a control that straps to the steering post. Do Ray company used to make one called a Flash All control. I had them on old cars I owned. You could buy that as an after market thing even when this car was new.
Respect please. Don't drive an antique car in the rain. You could pull over and find the windshield wipers. Just saying.
What in the hell are you doing?! People like you don’t deserve a car like that. I’m younger then you and I know better. First of all who in the hell puts their wet shoes on the seats!!!!
i would cancel your driving privilege -your driving is dangerous. You need to attend a driving school. If any lawman in Miami sees this video- please take action before he kills someone. I didn't realize this was 6 years ago. He is probably dead- so nevermind.
