Plumeria Grove Collection, Koko Crater Botanical Garden, Honolulu, Hawaii - May 2022

The Dean Conklin Plumeria Grove is part of the Honolulu Botanical Gardens system.
Located in Koko Crater - "a blooming volcanic crater" - along the eastern side of Oahu, the plumeria trees surround the entrance to the garden and extend along the trail that lead to the crater. (www.botany.hawa...)
Koko Crater Botanical Garden Hours
Open daily, sunrise to sunset
Closed Christmas Day (December 25)
Closed New Year's Day (January 1)
In 1958, Koko Crater on the eastern side of O`ahu was set aside for development into a botanical garden. Plant collections occupy sixty acres of the inner slopes and basin of this 200-acre crater.
This garden focuses on the cultivation of rare and endangered dryland plants. Xeriscape concepts are used to transform this dry landscape into a garden where plants suitable to desert-like conditions can flourish.
Highlights: Hawaiian plants, African & Madagascan plants, Cactus & Succulent garden, Plumeria grove, Dryland palms

I believe growing in a crater with its rich volcanic soil, while being sheltered from high winds, also helps 🤩

Oahu's south-eastern corner, just a half-hour drive from the center of Honolulu. The entrance is free, plenty of parking, and some picnic tables as well, right in the midst of plumerias!

Flowers were beautiful but the video was hard to watch because the panning was too fast..,,Have to remember that the camera lens isn't as fast as the human eye, so panning has to be extremely slow.

@@rynaryna7565 I don't think they do, the whole place is more of an arboretum, they don't even have a welcome center. Maybe inquiring with them - or Honolulu Botanic Garden - if they hold sales or events would be a good idea.
