    I watched this video, and I never thought to use my drill to insert the plug. I just had to plug my tire, and I only had an old straight handle plug tool. I couldn't get the plug to go in to save my life. I was using a drill and bit to ream the hole, then this video made me have an epiphany. I took out my trusty hammer, broke the plastic handle off of my plug tool, and used the bit directly in my drill. Worked like a charm! Thanks for the idea!

    That's a really good idea! I've thought of that but never tried it. Glad you made it work...maybe that's another video idea, thanks.

    My heart was almost out putting this plug into tyre with black handle manual one, we were stranded outside town on my wife's birthday but I fixed the car eventually an hour late for her celebration. Had the impact driver for most of the stuff, but this is the most energy consuming process besides putting tyre back. This is revolution a small tool beside leatherman rebar and impact driver.

    I couldn't agree more! Some tires are about impossible to poke through the the cheap black handle ones. 👍🏼

    The "Is it hailing?" comment made me lol 😅 I'm gonna order one of these kits for a future plug job. I've watched my dad do it and it's a struggle to insert the plug manually, hopefully this will make things easier next time.🤞

    haha, yeah, what were the chances? yup, I've never really liked the old manual plug tools. plus, any chance I get to use a powertool, I'll take it!

    Yeah! I actually stopped along side the road and plugged one on my way to my sisters out of state last week. The tire pressure light went off, so I pulled over and plugged it and filled it with my 12 V plug-in compressor. No spare tire in that car, so that saved a tow job 👍🏼👍🏼 I use my set that has t-handles instead of a drill, which I’d recommend for a car.

    Lol with a tire that wrecked you should have drilled 30 more holes then set it on fire 🤦‍♂️ pretty much zero tread.

    what do you mean, it still has 7,000 miles left on it 😆 jk you're right! I needed an alignment bad with my new tires but I wanted to change out my struts first and a control arm before an alignment/new tires, so that's why I waited so long.

    Always use rubber cement or vaulkinizing glue. Does the drill method work? Yes. Is it right? No. The twisting is not good. When i plug (never had a failure in 25 years) i try to not ream. Works/seals better

  • @HandymanHertz

    @HandymanHertz

    Rubber cement is only used or a lubricant. I quit using it years again and havnt had one fail since. How is the twisting not good? That doesn't make sense...how is it wrong if it works? If it works...it's right. Might be different, but not wrong (and way easier)
