Plug Bug: Rear Apron Mod - Make it removable!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Here I show how I made the rear apron on my 1969 VW Bug removable. This will allow me to more easily drop the motor/transmission combo in one go.

Broski, nice setup on the car. Is it wise to weld on the car while the battery is connected?

Thanks! It is no problem to weld on it when connected to the battery. The reason is because the high voltage is isolated; it is not connected to the body of the car. This is unlike the 12v, where the ground/negative of the battery is connected to the chassis. Even if it wasn't floating; I don't think it would be a big deal because it isn't completing the circuit.
