How I'd love some snow and go snow ploughing...here in stunning West Cork in Ireland we hardly ever have snow, but we have daffodils in February, and can plough the mud all winter long!

Cool idea. I'm not too much of a fan of where the lines and extra chain ended up. But that's really cool

I would make that V plow out of a much lighter material so your horse wouldn't have to work as hard. Always keep that in mind. Just because they are work horses, work them easier. That wooden plow is heavy especially when the wet sticky snow clings to it. A nice light weight aluminum something that won't rust and where snow won't stick s easy.

If it was lightweight it wouldn't plow as well. Just skim over the top.

How much weight would You add to your light weight snowplow?
@lornejespersen47743 жыл бұрын
I remember my Father plowing snow with a wooden V plot and a team of horses. You wouldn’t need any plans to make this. Make a V using 2”x 12” planks to whatever size that you think that you need. I would say about 8’ wide. I don’t think that Dads had a metal runner on the bottom, but it would certainly prevent excessive wear. Good luck.

A seat is optional. The extra weight on the plow would help it dig better in the snow.

it's no good, the chain and the lines are going under the plow, if the line gets caught under the plow ,it will be yanked out of his hand and he would probably go for a ride

That is the trace chains jingling. You hook the tail of the chain back on the hook to reduce the noise.
