I went to Yoseka specifically because of this video. I am a fountain pen newbie, and I was so curious about the pens and the journal in this video. Specifically I wanted to talk to Ashley since she is so clear and full of detail in this video. She is DELIGHTFUL. So patient with me and all of my million questions. About pens, ink, Plotters. Everything!! I'm actually going back for more this weekend. Such a great shopping experience. My only warning: be prepared to be enabled when you go to the store. I want it all!!

I've ordered all of mine from Japan to UK but cannot wait to get supplies when I get to your shop in May. Plotter really are a great system in every way for me. 👍🏻 Congrats to you folks for getting this brand in Yoseka. You know what we need now don't you? A Yoseka green binder! It has to be done! 😆I was interested in the info about how to sort the rings should they get a gap in them. My favourite is the A5. Thanks 😄👍🏻

I just received my Horse Hair II "Bible" Plotter yesterday (only available directly from Plotter at the moment). I also have a Lisco A5 I bought a while back. They're extremely nice. I'm not sure if it was mentioned in the video but you can also get hole punches that will allow you to use loose-leaf A5 paper that you may have on hand. But of course the Plotter DP paper itself is quite good.

The Horse Hair ones look sooooo nice, fingers crossed we can carry their special edition binders one day 🤞I don't believe I mentioned the hole punchers in the video - that's a great tip! Especially if you want to use a thicker paper or specialty paper like TRP ;) Thanks for watching! -Ashley

It is simply do you desire the classy look. I myself have 2 and Love them. I however would NOT pay over 1000.00 for a Louis Vuitton purse that is not even leather. I see people with them all the time. If you are into it and can afford it then buy and enjoy. If not move on to what you like and can afford.

I actually haven't heard of them somehow, but I guess I haven't been in rings for a long time. I do like that the covers don't have some textured pattern or snap closures. But I absolutely love that the refills aren't just loose paper, but are bound notebooks yes please 😭

These 11mm rings do negate a lot of the 'pain' we get from writing across them or using them. Whilst I know they are there, they don't present a problem, nor prevent tidy writing either. They are small enough to not be an issue 👍🏻

I’m actually not a huge fan of binders either despite having a couple of Plotters. I keep my pad of paper either clipped into the binder or next to it in my bag. Then as I write pages I tear them out of the pad and migrate them to the binder. So the binder is more for “finished pages”.

I do find when adding accessories, like the lifter for example, it takes up extra space. So you want to mindful of that when buying up a bunch of extra stuff along with your first binder. My suggestion is get a binder, a pad or two of paper and then maybe one accessory. And then go from there.

Would the Plotter bible or narrow refill size be a good fit for a Filofax personal size outer? I think the narrow may work (hoping the bible size might!), but just not sure about the hole placement. PS A video about fixing gaping rings would be awesome!

The Plotter binder prices are insane. $182 for the bible size, which is more than three times the price of the comparable-sized Traveler's leather cover. Yes, it comes with a metal three-ring apparatus, but that doesn't justify three times the price. Nor does the functionality of the system. I know that simplicity is part of the Japanese ethos. But from where I sit, it comes across as a scheme to jack up product profit margins at the expense of the consumer. Hard pass.

Good leather is quite expensive and these are the same price as the Roterfaden A5 binders and the A5 Hobonichi leather covers. If they hold up well they can be used for a long enough time that the cost per use is minimal. The flexibility of being able to use loose leaf refills is worth it.

The leather is of a much higher quality than the Traveler’s Company notebooks, and a lot of them have a longer, handmade process into the finish of them - that mixed with the rings, brass part, and putting it all together, means it will be more costly. Yes, I wish they were less money, but they’ve been releasing lower price points on their leather binder options, which I appreciate. This is also one of those items that’s meant to last for years thanks to the quality of it. Especially with the handmade curation of the leather, I would rather pay more so that the workers behind these custom leather pieces can be paid a fair wage.

This does not seem like a useable system at all. Doesn’t seem worth the price for what you get. Also, how is “only carry what you need” a proprietary philosophy to Plotter? This all reeks of a marketing scam.
