Great info! I've been getting into journaling lately and one method that I found to get through many unused notebooks at a time is to focus on a specific subject for each book. I have one journal for writing about my art/craft projects, one journal for writing about video games I play and strategies I use, and another for writing about my job. Having themed notebooks like this really helps since I get stuck with trying to write a general daily journal. Knowing that I'm about to write about a specific topic helps me to better focus my writing and generate ideas so I can fill more pages :)

It would be so fun if you had a Yoseka journal that each day a member of your staff did a page of journaling using different stickers, fountain pens, stationary, etc and posted it to KZread. We could see how each staff member uniquely journals about life at Yoseka.

I do morning pages everyday because of The Artist's Way and I go through so much ink and paper. I love buying supplies for this ceremony because it's so therapeutic. I'm in a much better mood and get so many good ideas when doing my morning pages.

I have 3 major journal. 1st my daily journal of news events, my thought, feelings and opinions. 2nd my health journal where I record doctor's visit, test results or occasional health concerns, ongoing health problems etc. And finally an activity journal where I record my days of skiing, biking hiking and so forth.

Surprisingly missed (all though maybe it isn’t journaling per se) but having a commonplace book! It ignited my interest and stationary (as well as my Zettlekasten habit).

This has sent me down a brand new (only because I, too, forgot about this) rabbit hole.

Thanks for the video; it’s always so fun to see what people use their journals for. I use my Hobonichi HON for morning pages, and for time blocking in the vertical weekly. Then I use a Stalogy notebook in my work as an engineer; on a good year, I’ll go through 4 A5 notebooks. I also used to do long form journaling but find that hard to do now that I’m a parent; so I keep a small pocket notebook for when I need to just write and get things out of my head.

You know what, I've been hearing about morning pages for the longest time, but never really thought it'd help me. I guess it wouldn't hurt to try tho, cause it does sound interesting. It's just that knowing me, I'd definitely read past entries at some point xD that's the fun part of keeping planners and journals for me, I love seeing what I did and what I was thinking in the past.

I have a houseplant journal in one of those special edition illustrated Midori notebooks with the "hand drawn" lines and colorful plant art. 💚 I know you kept a diary of Jacob's first year, right, Daisy - in a Hobonichi Weeks? One of my most treasured items is a small junky notebook I got to jot down at least one thing every single day of my son's first year. I also have a special flannel-covered Winnie the Pooh journal into which I was going to transfer those mommy notes. But you know what? The Pooh book remains empty after 24 years. That little blue paper notebook is messy but my chicken scratch and tired-mama shorthand says so much. I've had to learn over the decades that journaling doesn't have to be pretty, although I do love matching my fountain pens and inks.

Who doesn't love a new notebook? I always try to Bullet Journal. It is so helpful to be able to look back and find an important entry and see that tasks are completed. I have tried the Morning Pages method before, but the religious perspective turned me off so I quit the book altogether. It does not take away from how helpful it can be to do a mind dump. Mental health is something everyone can work on and improve.

I love this. I've been neglecting my Hobonichi lately. I actually ordered a new pen from you a couple days ago and according to the tracking, it should get here today. I'm really looking forward to trying out some of these ideas with my new TWSBI

I have a 5 year hobonichi. I started it this year and the only time I've fallen off is when I was really sick and was overwhelmed with trying to work and get better. I've enjoyed it and I get to test out different inks on the paper.

Good info, Daisy, very informative. I'm a non creative using my Stalogy notebook for Morning pages. I've been doing it for less than a year. I agree with you that like meditation it takes commitment. I notice that I feel better when I write, than when I don't. Thanks for another good video.

Hello Yoseka team! Greetings from Singapore! Thank you for these useful tips! I recently got back into daily journaling after a hiatus of a couple of years, and I love how therapeutic it is. I’m also a fairly new subscriber to your channel - having discovered you guys about a month ago, and I have been binge-watching all your videos ever since :) thank you for everything you do!! I hope I get to go to New York for stationery fest! 😊

Thank you for the straight forward ideas for journaling. Too many you tubers trying to go way to deep into the psychology side of it or just crazy scrapbooking under the guise of journaling.

You can also do common placing or even special interest, journaling! I have like 10 different notebooks and they’re all about a very specific subject. I have a notebook just for my tarot practice and a notebook just for all the books that I read and my thoughts and quotes collected on them, sketchbook, and most importantly, ink, swatches and pen tests!
