Speedy Alka-Seltzer (voiced by Dick Beals, who also did Bugler the Bugler for Bugles Snacks) makes a return appearance in this 1976 spot. He was Alka-Seltzer's regular mascot on TV from 1954-64. Following Beals's death, Bayer,the company that bought Alka-Seltzer's original manufacturer,Miles Laboratories,wisely retired the character in the late 2000s.

The studio that did RUDOLPH THE RED-NOSED REINDEER and all Rankin-Bass "Animagic" specials & movies was in Japan. But this American-animated commercial is of the same caliber. :) I believe this was animated by veteran Wah Chang, who animated the original '50s commercials (in B&W).

How I first recall seeing this very commercial and 4 years after I first saw this character in The Commercial for Esso is changing to Exxon and of which had other commercial characters including Mr.Peanut and The Jolly Green Giant and my Sister Maureen even pointed out that character of Speedy Alka Seltzer along with that being his name.We can also watch and enjoy this ad along with many others like this one here on KZread.

What a relief!! This advert is gay! And since the add is from the 70's I fell okay using that term to describe something stupid.
