Bart is so right about the pre flop action. You ALWAYS want to get a very low SPR with Aces if you can.

Bart I have been hearing for years that PLO is the game of the future (for live cash games) What's your opinion?

The biggest problem people have in PLO is they overvalue aces. This isn't the worst AAxx as the player has a nut suit. As short as the player is, he should really be making his decision on getting it in preflop. Raise to $90, then unless the flop is a total disaster (like 567 all hearts) just get it in. This flop isn't bad, because there is no made hand possible yet and he may be ahead with AA and has backdoors to a flush, straight and full house. He also blocks his opponent from having hands like A4xx and A5xx; and holds outs needed for a 54xx hand. PLO is a game of much thinner equity, but more action.

3457 is arguably the minimal rundown hand to open with, so the villain isn't necessarily out of line. I like the short stack but not the small raise with AAxx. In PLO, bet sizing can be used to "push" players out of the pot, or "pull" them into a multiway pot, depending if you prefer implied or reverse implied odds with your hand. With AAxx & a small stack, you want to "push" players out and/or maximize reverse implied odds. The hero could even try buying in for $200 and topping off when down to 25 big blinds. A $200 stack would have solved all his problems here, even with the smallish 3 bet. There's nothing wrong with a small stack. The buy in limit is fixed in favor of very large stacks to begin with. Your small stack is the last thing big stacks want to see, so use it as a weapon. Small stacks can work in your favor, especially if you an induce multi way jam fests with everyone vying for your tiny stack. If $200 in a $2/5 isn't enough, try $400 in a $5/10 game if possible.

I have to disagree Bart. I don't think the open is as terrible as you say if he has 3456 double suited(assuming suits and other card) and once reraised I like this hand a lot... it's also ahand that plays well as a 3-bet in late position. I think we should point out that the V should be moving all in with his equity on the flop... As a new player to PLO; I'd suggest only raising pot and betting pot. You should be playing very tight and this sizing won't give anything away and makes the most sense with limited amount of bluffs you'll have.

Not really since with 6 different combinations of 2 cards dealt to each player, people are much more likely to have them than in NLH. The value of all hands go down tremendously in PLO, so its not like, its that big of a deal to have two aces preflop, as it is in NLH.

Great example of how badly PLO is being played by both the caller & Bart - everyone is playing 4 card hold em which is an incredibly poor way to play Omaha
