@@cheekibreeki921 I turned my brother on to Pleasure to Kill and the first thing he did was describe them as German Slayer. I think that is why I prefer Kreator to Sodom.

@@C-RoProduction..? Sorry, but, how? I have a hard time listening to almost anything from that album because everything sounds just so messy and indecipherable. Slower songs like Riot of Violence are fine, but the faster stuff? It sometimes sounds like the instruments are tripping over each other.

agree, it was far more brutal, nearing the death/black range, in fact i’d say Pleasure to Kill was the precursor to brutal thrash/death thrash.

@@Jesus-fz5ks Sodom was definitely a precursor to black metal, whereas Kreator feels more death, but overall they both achieved that grittier sound characteristic that 90’s extreme metal used

Pleasure to Kill dropped 6 months before Reign in Blood in 1986. I remember hearing this record and the slow wind blowing before the happy notes of Choir of the Damned thinking this is going to explode and it does, of course, with Ripping Corpse. When Slayer's record his store shelves we of course applauded and lapped up every bit of the classic album it eventually became. My goodness, Jeff Hanneman's skill and ability as a song writer cannot be overstated. Nevertheless, PTK remained and remains a staple in my playlist to this day; I'm 52.

Sodom fought an awesome battle here, but for me Kreator came out the victors by one axe swing. Very, very close battle!!!

I'm probably biased a bit because I listen to Kreator a lot, so I have to give them the edge, but all these riffs are superb.... they all got my head bangin'!!

Pleasure to Kill, Hell Awaits & Reign in Blood (Slayer), Eternal Devastation (Destruction), Bonded by Blood (Exodus), Beneath the Remains (Sepultra), Seven Churches (Possessed), Harmony Corruption (Napalm Death) -- I played these albums (vinyl of course) back in the 1980s endlessly. I think this was Kreator's best album and certainly one of the great thrash albums of all time.

Kreator is good and all, but Sodom has that extra kick to it which totally blows Kreator off the tracks for me. PERSECUTION MANIAAA! 🤘🏼🔥🔥

yeah i agree with that, this could offcourse have to do with the fact that i prefer Sodom over Kreator. I believe that if you'd look at the bands overall and their careers, i'd say that Sodom wins BY FAR. Kreator released some weird stuff in the 90s but Sodom was allways (and still are) amazing. When it comes to these two albums, things quickly becomes harder. They are both amazing, but they are going for a very different sound so its really hard to compare them.

As always, a great idea with some outstanding performance. I admire the precision in your playing and the share speed and strength U have built in years. Playing 3 Sodom or Kreator songs in a row with no real breaks can give you cramps and muscle fever, no matter in how good playing condition (shape) one is in. Iconic albums and a great choice!

I'm gonna vote Sodom on this one cuz I barely heard much Kreator (for no good reason, sounds killer) I remember this Sodom vinyl had an 8x10 glossy band photo included! They had the coolest names...

kreator sodom both are great. But I have to go with kreator on this one. pleasure to kill is an influential thrash metal album that almost gave birth to death metal. Sodom persecution mania awesome too. they are both great bands and albums
