I hate the way people look at her like she's different or there's something wrong with who she is. I don't understand what she feels like but the way she just goes on with everything and acts like she's okay makes her so special and different from everyone else. She deserves happiness.

this honestly breaks my heart. people just don't understand what she's going through. i mean she's trying to balance her religion and social life but they always seem to clash and she can't talk about it with anyone because no one gets it. i really hope everything works out for her over the course of the season because she's my fav and she deserves so much better ugh

I absolutely love this. The scenes you choosed are incredible, it's just so different from all the other videos that I saw about Sana. You really focus on things that give a certain meaning and theme, and with that magic skill you consume my feelings, no joke. By watching your videos I get goosebumps and tears in my eyes. I don't wanna mumble too much, but I just wanted to say thank you for making those fascinating videos. I'm already so exciting for the next one!

Assalamu aleikum We shouldn't watch this films and serials. It's too much haram things in there... Sorry for my English, I hope you can understand me. And I wanna ask you about praying, what volume it should be? I have not much muslims around me, I want to know how to pray correctly.

this was so deep, wow. most videos with sana link her to yousef but you really focused on her vulnerabilities and misconceptions. you effortlessly captured how challenging it is for her to be a young muslim woman in her non-muslim society. sana is seen as this tough girl when really, she is as vulnerable to something as complex as heartbreak. I hate that the other girls had no idea of the existence of her brother, I hate how they completely excluded her on the train, and how they tend to overlook her at times. This is why, so far this season has really grown on me and I found myself loving Sana even more; she has such a beautiful soul inside and out.

exactly, exactly. i just hate how everyone seems to have a misconstrued perception of her. in particular, the conversation where noora says "you're lucky, you don't have to deal with heartbreak" always gets me because of course she does? sana is a teenage girl at the end of the day, of course she is susceptible to heartbreak. i just feel like it's those types of comments that really show how she is seen as an "other" even to those closest to her.

This video touched me so much. I used to be somewhat islamophobic if I can be really honest. I used to judge based on what the media showed me and based on "the surface" if that makes sense. Eventually I opened my mind a little and realized not everyone is the same and islam is not an evil religion. Skam and Sana made me see muslims in a different light and Sana quickly became my favorite character and I feel for her so much. This video described why and how. So thank you for this, I can't get over how great it is.

Noora's misconception about her not having to go through heartbreak is obviously unintentional but it really got to her. She could possibly have it the worst because while the other girls could talk to others about their feelings and about their heartbreak, Sana feels like she can't because everyone would look down on her and think "You're a muslim, you're not supposed to focus on these kinds of things" but she's a human too and it's all normal human emotion that's she's feeling. She's forced to repress her feelings and keep to herself a lot of the time which could have a bad effect on her later on.

oh wow. God you truly captured how it feels to be labelled as 'other' by not just those who don't know you but even with those closest to you. That comment Noora makes about her not having to worry about this stuff cuts hard because it's assumed that because she's a hijabi muslim, normal teenage feelings are somehow an alien thing to her or that she doesn't feel those things, not thinking that she is legit still a teenage girl who hides her feelings and crushes a lot more than anyone else but it is most definitely not an alien concept to her. The fact that her friends still haven't noticed how she behaves with Yousef is also very telling. But overall, you just captured how she just accepts that no one will ever understand her and that is truly the saddest thing, i just want her to be happy and accepted and loved as she is deserved by her friends (especially as she is such an amazing friend to them all). Thank you for this (also I actually love how it ends so abruptly, almost like her story is yet to be told and is unfinished) xxx

thank you so much. you completely understood what i was going for. i really wanted to show that alienation. sana may have some concerns and worries that the other girls do not because of her faith but it does not mean she does not share the general worries that pretty much every teenager deals with, like heartbreak for instance. her friends really don't mean harm a lot of the time, in their comments and behavior and sana tends to not speak up about things but to a degree she also shouldn't have to. i think people just really need to pay more attention to her. anyway, i'm beginning to ramble here, but thank you again, as always it means so much

I haven't watched this show, but this is beautiful. A lesson in empathy. No one likes being misunderstood or made to feel like an outsider by their peers. Brilliant editing (:

wow, omg. thank you so much. i really wanted this to be a glimpse into the treatment she has to deal with every single day. and i wanted to make it a sort of full circle ending, with the video starting with sana's prayer and having scenes of her getting ready for her prayer towards the end to show that it's cyclical. Another day begins and it's another day she has to deal with judgement, prejudices, and feeling unnoticed sometimes even around those that are supposed to love her the most. anyway, i'm rambling now but, i completely agree with you, she is such a warrior.

Sana keeps almost everything in herself, even though it is difficult as hell. so, yes, her praying shows that it is like a circle. it was a great remark, thank you!

MY GOD, THIS IS BY FAR ONE OF THE BEST SKAM VIDEOS I HAVE EVER SEEN. Everything about it was perfect; the clips you chose went together so brilliantly and the video seemed to say so so much without having to explicitly put anything out there (much like we've seen with Sana's character and storyline). I genuinely feel that no one could have done a better job depicting her and this season (so far) as well as you have. I cannot wait to see what you'll come with in time (both with Yousef and when the season itself ends, ofcourse).

This is amazing. I've heard so many people complaning that this season is about Sana, and how they are not interested in her , but for me she is one of the most interesting characters . She has created that image of "powerful girl" and nobody can see how that is not true. Everybody misunderstands her and she isn't trying to make things clear , because she thinks that nothing will change. Sana struggles so much , but still always helps others with their problebs. Still nobody seems to understand her :(

i'm an ex Muslim. but i truly felt this one deep in my bones. Sana was such a wonderful, beautifully complex character that i related to so much. i loved this one.

doesn't sound weird! i see some of myself in sana as well. i look up to her a lot, because of her fierce strong exterior and soft, loyal and caring inner self. she's such a great character and i'm really glad we're learning more about her this season.

I watch a lot of fanvideos on youtube and your skam videos are the absolute best! I hope that when the season is over you could perhaps make a complete character study of Sana? And maybe one of Even, when the whole ballon boys thing is resolved and we get the full story? And one of Sana and Yousef when we know how they end up? Sorry, I just really love your videos!

I've been wanting to comment on your videos for so long (You've no idea how many of yours are in my "need to rewatch & comment" playlist hahaha :'D So let's get started with this one. Before, i gotta tell you that you've become one of my favorite editors and definitely my favorite vidder for this show. I don't know what it is exactly, but the way you portray things and how you catch the perfect atmopshere is just mindbowing. I always catch myself watching with my mouth open, i'm not kidding xD I'm such a fan of the simplicity of your work, it's just beyond brilliant. Also this one is no exception. First the social network soundtrack (i was already in love when it started playing haha) Then this silence, idk it just portrays Sana and her thoughts in such a beautiful way. And it looks so effortless and light, but it's SO effective. I love how you not only see the ships but also that you appreciate the characters individually. (I know i'm not better cause i'm such a sucker for Noorhelm haha, i try to succeed in this with other shows because i think there's always so much more to shows that just gets overlooked).
