I was a kid growing up in the 70's. still remember summer nights listening to songs like this on the radio in my room and dreaming of what things will be like when I would be an adult, now that I am , I just want to go back to the 70's.

I remember when I was 10 and would wake up every morning during summer vacation at 6:00 A.M. to go fishing. I would bring my lunch and a transistor radio. This song would come on as the sun would rise over the lake. I will never forget those days. I loved the 70's !

This song defines music from the 60's and 70's. The storytelling songwriters did in that Era was truly amazing and is sorely missed in music today. Growing up in that Era was one of the best times of my life and it spoiled us and set the bar so high, it hasn't been touched since. it was like music had such meaning and purpose and was the stories of all our lives at that time. Don't get me wrong, there has been some really great songs written since, but they only seem to pop up here and there sporadically, there's no consistency like there was back then.

This song reminds me of simpler times, when there were less problems, people actually talked face to face, no cell phones, campfires, picnics, friends, family, now its cold business oriented trips, I miss the life I once had, even the traveling was fun with C.B 's the communication form! I honestly would have been happier in Alaska, where there was still frontier spirit! ❤🙅🎶

I was a child in the 70's & a teen in the 80's. I always felt that my generation got the best of both worlds. We had our music of the 80's & 90's, but we still have our memories and a great appreciation for the music that came in the 70's & before. I only wish that the kids of today would take the time to listen to music from the previous generations. Too many of them don't make any effort to do that and I feel that they're really missing out on a lot of great stuff. This is a song that I've rediscovered lately - it has such beautiful lyrics & a very powerful story. To know that when you're roaming the world on your own and there's someone back home that wants you to come back to be with them - that is very uplifting. Thanks to the person who made & posted this video.

Is that what you need to hear? Mark, isn't there enough pain & heartache in the world, without people like you that randomly hurt (or try) a man like me. Mark, there are many people on the edge in this life, and words are powerful to some people. So in the future, why not say something encouraging or maybe just dont say anything at all. Mark, if i read this message & was so weak & distraught that i killed myself, how would that make you feel? I am a thick skinned man, so people like you, angry fools, dont hurt me. But i pray you dont write this to someone at the end of their rope. MARK, WORDS ARE POWERFUL, BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WRITE TO PEOPLE.

There are a lot of jealous people in this crazy world, they wish they can speak with their heart, but most cannot. Cathy, when you wrote that "my love is like you", what does that mean? Thank you for your best wishes, coming from your beautiful spirit....I wish they were more people like you out there in the world.......

+GREGORY RUSSO I've seen this "Mark T's trolls elsewhere. I liked your comments. This is a beautiful song with lots of implications. Like many people, the song writer points out that relationships are not always cut and dry.

Heard it the first time when it was released in the early 70s and loved it ever since. Drives my wife mad after 30 years of marriage she still comments on my playing of it at any chance The children ALWAY join it with it laughing at how the after all these years know the words. A great song and singer. Thanks for the post,

I grew up in Boston, worked downtown on Washington Street. When I hear this song I am suddenly sitting on a bench in my miniskirt in the Commons in the 70's, platform shoes too of course ! Beautiful place in the springtime. Bring peanuts for the pigeons and squirrels. ☀🦢🐿 RIP Dave Loggins. Thank you for the beautiful music. 7/10/24

Came to youtube 3 or 4 years ago to listen to Dan Fogelburg- Same Old Lang Syne at Christmas time and listened to Dave Loggins- Please Come To Boston as well. One of the best songs EVER. So yeah, still listening in late 2019 at 56 years of age. Been listening about every Saturday night since. Drink a few beers and listen to great songs from the 70's on up to now...the old stuff plus Chris Stapleton, War On Drugs, Thunder and Rain, etc.- so much good stuff out here. Timeless classics like this, plus so much more...
