My sister, Kathy, and I have been watching Friesian Horses together for 3+ years now. Our great grandparents immigrated to the US from Friesland and other parts of the Netherlands in the 1800s. We felt a connection to the geography, language, and relationships of Yvonne and the herd of family, friends, and animals. Friesian words we learned from the videos were sprinkled into our conversations and sparked our interest to learn more about a language our family had left behind. Watching brought us closer together, and we talked about our impressions and emotions about the videos almost daily. My sister passed away in her sleep a few days ago. Our last conversations about the horses were first our shock and sadness over Uniek's passing -- we both felt the loss of her presence in our lives in a way we found unique, surprising, and important and mentioned it to each other for days -- and then Blomke and the Icelandic pony rides. Our first true love on the channel was Johnny -- he tickled us and drew us in. We admired Yvonne's strength and love together. Yvonne's friends felt like people we knew - -our 'very Dutch' aunts and uncles - we saw our family and felt familiar with their personalities and demeanor. The strong bonds felt familiar and aspirational. Oda and her smile were a favorite of my sister. She admired Reintje and her unwavering friendship. She thought Boss Rein was the epitome of the Dutchmen we knew. Bauke reminded her of our father and his attentive kindness (Our dad, 6'3", was called the Big Dutchman by people who knew him). Today, Yvonne's videos are a part of my grieving and I'm thankful for that. Doei suster.

I also appreciated that he was able to recognize he wasn't ready to have such a big animal eat from the bowl in his hands. Made me image how much taller she is from his perspective➡looking up at such a large head & mouth❣I appreciated also that you accepted his limit on himself vs trying to convince him otherwise.

I can’t get enough of Blomke she’s so full of energy and curiosity Stal H’s pocket rocket and I’m totally in love.🌸🩷Love that this video was filmed on Reintjes birthday her newborn photo with Freke M is one of my favorites. Time at the Horjus Stal has transformed Coralle from a standoffish,indifferent character who really didn’t care much for people to actually seeking out affection with soft eyes and nickering when humans come close it’s the magic Yvonne effect she turns even the most powerful strong minded horse into mush.🤎🤎🐎🐎

I love that Teije is so curious about the horses and confident with most things but he also is so respectful knowing that when Mem Yvonne says they are angry, he backs right off. Keeps himself safe and having a good connection with them.
