I love how going to The Aether isn’t “harder” than going to The Nether. This isn’t like some Advent of Ascension type stuff, it’s always just been go to The Nether, grab 10-14 glowstone, and then leave. Because The Aether is neither a replacement nor an upgrade to The Nether. It’s a place up in the sky where you can live peacefully so long as you can brave the elements first, where as The Nether was literally Hell and was literally called Hell until The Nether Update made it slightly habitable whilst also adding in tons of new ways to die horrifically. And again, with the tools, weapons and armour from The Aether, yes they’re “stronger” and “faster” than Overworld equiptment, but Aether equiptment only works in The Aether and vice versa. Yes, you _can_ use Aether weapons to tear through Aether enemies faster, but that *only* works for Aether enemies.

...The Nether was 100% a place you could live peacefully pre-Nether Update. Given how few hostile mob spawns there were, it was arguably _safer_ than the Overworld.

@@Lu_ciernaga Yes, but they also swarm and kill you if you ever punch one of them and the only way to get them to stop is to kill all of them without leaving even one survivor

One of the programmers here, this was a very fun playthrough of the mod to watch! It's really nice seeing people enjoy the mod so much, especially people who are returning to it after so long now that it's out on modern Minecraft. Also honestly I was a bit devastated seeing your items get destroyed by lightning too, that's a bug I've had to fix a couple times in beta and I'm surprised to see it come back. Also RIP Jerald, I might have to see if I can prevent tragedies like that from happening again as well.

I'll never forget the excitement when i was making a modpack for 1.20 and saw that the aether had finally been ported to new versions

I love how clear Rek speaks, I am almost fully deaf but from what I can hear his voice sounds clear as well as confident and it comes up correct on the subtitles. I’ve been watching rek for years and it’s the little things that make my day. Thankyou Rek for making such good content.

@kaejuka6249 Kingbdogz made a tweet about it explaining why the aether won't be added. His exact words are : "The simple answer is it's a mod (even if I'm the one who lead development on it). The longer answer is that Minecraft always strives to do something different, something people don't expect. Adding the Aether to the game would feel like adding something that is out there already."

This mod was my childhood and this is such a trip down memory lane

As a tip rekrap: You can rebind the gravitite jump to a combo of keys so that every jump isn't super high! I personally bind mine to shift + space but you can bind it to whatever you want I've been loving the resurgence in Aether content that's been happening since the remaster has been released! I've been donating to their patreon since before that and saw the huge progress being made on it, and it's super awesome to finally see everybody else enjoying it! Loved this video!

I'd love to see more like this, it's fun revisiting old mods and seeing how they stand today

Aether mod is genuinely a great form of progression, and i like how they really make u feel like the area is ez with bronze one only to beatu bakc down on the silver boss and make h krep exploring

I remember downloading a map on Pocket Edition that was solely dedicated to the Aether dimension with blue grass and everything, I had so much fun in there

I adore this mod, though I've only played the 1.12 version, my only complaint is the gold boss is underwhelming and annoying. You should do a video on the twilight forest :3

The Aether is an awesome mod! There is also a Platinum Dungeon on the Lost Content mod with the King Aerwhale boss. Its on a floating island with a big tower. I think its the hardest one

That's not actually part of base aether. That comes from the Lost Content mod, an addon that brings back scrapped content.
