The part of opposite track into white city is because trains would go out of white city like normal, into a disused station which now isn't there, the track was joined up and it went all funny. Watch the secrets of the central line video by londonist

There are some shortcuts to the game as well, such as: CTRL+X to show FPS (in the HUD). CTRL+C to show the time (in the HUD). CTRL+V to show the speed (in the HUD). CTRL+J to make time go 5x faster.

Well done to the developer of this layout of the track & signal junctions graphics fantastic.

12:40 North Acton looks sooo real!!!! The Holiday Inn Express just outside is where i stayed when i was in London and the station looks sooo real

This was cool. I'm use to watching NYC lines done on OpenBVE but it was interesting seeing the London Overground in this. Sure the next ones will be just as great in this series.

There is only 1 trin part of the london overground witch is called the london overground xD

The Central Line BVE route is set in 2002 (hence the lack of Westfield). There are three driving modes on this route, there is Restricted manual, Coded Manual and ATO. That chime you heard at Ealing Broadway was because you'd switched into Coded Manual mode, and the chime is to tell you to increase speed. The reason the train wouldn't move into Liverpool St sidings is because all moves to and from the siding have to be made in Coded Manual mode - ATO doesn't work in the sidings. To centralise the exterior camera, hit numpad 5. Also, if you wish to turn on the cab air con... hit 7 :P As one of the developers of this route, it really humbles me to hear you like our hard work! The Central line as a project is still alive, although we have been working on other projects of late, we will eventually extend beyond Liverpool street :) The plan is to eventually incorporate the selector switch in the cab so you can clearly see which mode you are in, as at the moment you are relying on sound. The delete key inserts the drivers key, pressing page down the first time selects restricted manual mode, the second is Coded manual, and the third is ATO. To switch back from ATO to code manual etc is page up. I dare you to have a go at driving the line in coded manual - you can seldom drive as fast as the signalling system tells you to.

The middle platforms at White City [2 and 3] can be used for through running in either direction. Its the same at Loughton as well.The doors at middle platforms CAN be opened both sides simultaneously, they do not have P.A.C. protection as it is not required. However operating procedures at White city/Loughton dictate one side door opening according to direction of travel. It is different at Stratford however where you can open the doors both sides at once if you so wish!

I always looked for commentary videos of this game, never found them... Thanks for this!

Network West Midlands, that route is amazing! And also the Birmingham Cross City, and some SMRT routes are brill!

Also did you know about Hmmsim, it's OpenBVE for mobile, and it's amazing!

I find this game beautiful... Simple graphics but it looks real. Not like present games who try too much. This still has the magic when we would say wow what's gonna be next :)

The detail in stations is awesome. It literally looks like they copied inch-by-inch the station

My game keeps crashing just before the 3rd stop

White City, My area. Its amazing, and looks pretty accurate, exempting the idea of the lack of Westfield and the New Extenstion :D

Used to fiddle this years back easier when you know how was complicated at first then tried trainz a while this looks real good now going try again like sims like this

I know this is way too late but I might as well add these comments anyway: You don’t need to hold the 5 and 8 key for too long, when you’re sure the train has been moving for around 2 seconds, you can let go. Also at 15:18, those chimes alert the driver to leave the station. I don’t know why, I can only presume it’s to keep with the schedule? 22:17 This was back when the W&C line was still operated under Network SouthEast. It was transferred to LUL in April 1994, although I do believe they kept their old liveries until the mid 2000s. I’ll edit this later when I find more things through the video (or not!) 28:08 That track is a crossover point for trains from Epping etc. terminating at this station. There used to be a proper siding but it is now destroyed.

I am a tube driver and you are allowed to drive with the cab lights on. It's your choice if you want to or not!

Enjoyed playing this back in the day, well more BVE 2 & 4, than OPEN. Remember doing a northern line trip from one end to the other,. think it took nearly an hour and a half. Seem to remember there was also some train routes available Watford to Rugby and Redditch to Birmingham. Always found this to have, much more immersive, realistic sounds, compared to say Train Simulator.

I was born in 1992 so I went!

The hardest trains to drive these days (for me) is the Jubilee line because of the platform edge doors.

White city used to be a LT training centre for London transport, before they moved it to Ashfield House in West kensington

The line at White City did that because when the line originally terminated at Shepherds Bush it was a loop of track when Wood Lane opened the station was also on the loop when white city opened in the 1940s they kept it on that side which was why they did the crossover out in the open to put trains into the normal way in

You can drive manually, just press pgdn twice. Not three times. And you have to go into B3 and press SPACEBAR every time you close the doors.

ayyy openbve i play this game but i use singapore routes which allows you to drive in manual theres one thing i like about openbve is the room for roleplay you can easily similulate a train fault track fault and others

You can have the cab light on in the tunnels, only if you're in ATO. My instructor told me that you shouldn't use it, but it's a last resort for tired train operators. Typically not allowed when using Protected Manual, you'll get distracted. So the same as the laws for car interiour lights ;)

There is NO regulation regarding cab lights whilst operating your Train. You have the choice, [as another driver has already mentioned]. You can leave it on/off in any mode, tunnel or open section. The only time I would be likely to turn the cab light off is in Restricted Manual [in a tunnel section or in an open section at night] as you would either be applying the rule or proceeding under colour light to colour light. In fact I highly recommend that your cab light is ON when entering a platform, so you can be seen. This was recommended to me when I passed out as a driver in the 1970s and has turned out to be excellent advice.

You can change the camera the train car is set on by checking your settings to find the key used for changing cars. You can find the reset camera button the same way

The free cam works by stations. Press ] for the free cam to go to the next stop (than what it is) and press [ to go to the previous stop.

you can drive the train in coded manual which goes up to the line limit. restricted manual is for sidings and depots only (especially on the waterloo and city) so you can actually drive this line manually if you click page down again. understandably you want it to be as realistic as possible but the central line used to operate manually on sundays and ato from monday to saturdays.

The requirement for coded manual driving is still retained on Sundays/bank holidays for driving skills. You can take your train out of ATO even in the peak Monday to Friday and drive coded manual under the grounds of Health and Safety if you so wish. Its about using your own judgement/ responsibility and experience.

You can go into coded manual, you can go to the speed limit, but only over the speed limit for five seconds, than it will take you back to the limit.

Drive some national rail trains on Network West Midlands, that's a really good route with an extensive variety of stock including the Class 150, 153, 158, 170, 221, 323, 350/2, 390 and more! Don't forget the Cwm Twypsn route, which features part of the Welsh Marches line from Newport to Abergavenny followed by a fictional branchline (the full Arriva Trains Wales fleet is available for OpenBVE including the Class 143, 150, 158 and 175)

Central Line 1992 Tube Stock

In the real world the Central line 1992 stock can be driven manually, that is why there is a target speed [which is the in cab signalling system] below the speedo, you will see it there as the orange bar. The driver drives the train to the target speed, the system is called Automatic train protection. At 5.53 you are hearing the ATP chimes. When driving the train the up chimes are for an increase in the target speed and down chimes are for a decrease. The driver MUST respond accordingly. Your visuals ahead are block marker boards [which are signals] and of course colour light aspects [signals] The in cab ATP will then give you the required information as you pass a signal. Of course the system has ATO operation as well where the train will now drive itself to the target speed and will respond accordingly. The stopping mark at each station is called the P.A.C [platform automatic train communicator] it serves a number of functions, correct side door enable, the auto announcer, command codes for the ATO system and information for the driver from the control centre regarding any station closures [ATO only] which are displayed on your DTS [data transmission system in the cab]. Restricted manual speed is 14kph which is approximately 9mph. RM is used for signal failure conditions under a STRICT rule procedure and also for train defect situations.

when in free cam to reset back to the train you just press 5 on the num pad :-)

The district line is LONG. And I know exactly how long, as I cleverly decided to get on it at West Ham and travel all the way to Ealing Broadway yesterday. Took about 1 hour 20 minutes.... I can get to flipping Birmingham in that time! And I fell asleep and was woken up by the driver at Ealing Broadway lol, this was at like 9pm last night xD

this is my favourite seirse so far

The reason why the underground which sides coz shepherd bush used to be the last station and when the central terminates they go around in a loop and they will be back to shepherd bush however White city was the new station so they had to take out 1/4 of the loop so that why they go in the different direction

oh yeah, to reset your camera to view your train in external view, press the \ key or numpad 5.

I really want to get this but I have tried installing it through a tutorial but have never got it to work:( Please could you do a tutorial and show how you install it?

I actually think the sounds in openbve sound a lot better than train sim sometimes

There is no disused Wood Green station. Wood Green is on the Piccadilly Line.

7:47its 10 miles per hour also the same train is used today in london only problem they have full speed manual today and theres n9 difrences maybe the game forgot something
