I like how this game came out before social media and KZread and yet as kids we all already knew one of the best parts of the game was to drive backwards and wreck the field head on

I do not mind a season mode of this game just like the Do it for Dale series in NASCAR Thunder 2004

Facts!

Thunder 2002 through 06 and Dirt to Daytona aged like fine wine, I'm happy my childhood was filled with those games and it's always awesome to see more videos made about them, I'm always hoping we can have a current year game that's even close to them

I like that I can be aggressive in career mode and not have to worry about getting taken out at Talladega. I also can qualify decently.

I just can’t believe how awesome these old nascar games are so badass man! Like MRN radio and the demo with the tracker that’s actually badass man and also when you load up into a race the broadcast actually talk about there season or their best finish and let’s not forget the nation anthem being sung or played man oh man how I loved this game so much!!! And the paint schemes man I really miss these old nascar games 🥺

I can’t be the only one who wants to see a 100% play through of this game. Not a season or career mode but all the lightning challenges and getting every trophy at every track. This game had such cool tracks and unlockables and the trophy’s were just beautiful!!!

I can't wait until the workers finish downstairs so I can go back down and play my PS1 and my PS2

This game WAS my childhood. Got it at a GameStop in '07 as a 5-yr-old and played this for hours on end seemingly. The vibes are still very much fresh when I see footage of it. Glad I purchased another copy a few years back! Still play this whenever I get the chance!

This and 2004 were the best Nascar games ever made. Loved the introduction the National anthem flyover,commentary and damage physics were awesome. And lightning challenges and thunder plates were awesome! I can only hope that the new Nascar 21 game will have some of the same features that this game had.

Kasey Kahne is an unlockable Busch Series driver and since he took over the 98 car for Elton Sawyer in 2002, the game still had Elton's info so Kasey was actually in his "40's" in this game

I think this is the one with the Nadeau Atlanta challenge. Took me like 100 tries to beat it

@@briancromartie3149 the worse part was how they had the dynamics built in Because of your tyre wear, you couldn't coast in the corners and ease back on the throttle on corner exit, you had to stay in the gas

Also this is an emulator this resolution didn't exist when the game was developed therefore judging the graphics is a useless measure. By the way if graphics determines a good game for you, you need to boarden your gaming experiences. That's a shallow viewpoint of video games

They should re add the MRN broadcast (including intro and special clips from the actual broadcast) and fantasy track mod into the new game. Also all paint schemes including classic ones. As well as NASCAR legends. Oh and reply’s during the race too.

I'm very partial to this game. It was my first Nascar game of my childhood, and I had it for the PS2. I've always liked it, especially the create-a-car feature.

NT2003 is by far my second favourite NASCAR Game ever NASCAR 2005 is my favourite NASCAR gane But its definitely close

My dad used to play this game when I was little (I was 1 in 2002) and I grew up playing this game. This game is fantastic and I absolutely adore it despite 2004 being better in most every way (except for it’s challenges and having Michael Waltrip interviews instead of MRN radio calls.

I really miss the presentation of these older games.

I grew up with this game. I didn’t play NT2004 until this year.

When you go back check the outside of the banked right turn at Daytona road course you won’t be disappointed

When the woman started singing the national anthem and all the cars were lined up in pit row before the race, and the jets flew overhead,, it really hit me how low effort Nascar Heat 1-5 truly are.

Thunder 2003 and 2005 Chase for the Cup are the two I played as those were the two available on the GameCube. 2004's Rivals and vendettas were/are broken. Instead of focusing on the race, I found myself trying to evade the multitude of enemies made by simply existing on the track. It got really annoying really quickly.

Man this takes me back.. My bigger question: How do you get the thunder games to run so well through emulation? I'm STILL having a hard time with a decent gaming rig!

the dega challenge had pretty good damage simulation. it always amazed me how the damage never was like that in almost 20 years of console games still to this day.

Radman I played the hell out of NASCAR Thunder 2003 and 2004 during my childhood man. I also played the hell out of NASCAR: Dirt too Daytona also.

Nascar 2003 was the first ever nascar I played in my childhood I played it back in 2011 I would say but also it had my favorite soundtrack and song circles by nonpoint but didn't get into watching nascar towards end of 2012 season but honestly nt2003 career mode was always a challenge for me may win races but never the championship cause team and car management was a huge challenge it'll be my favorite game tho

So did I played the game the most when I was a teenager. I played Thunder 2004 a little less, but I liked NASCAR Thunder 2004 too. But I think this one is really good.

Legend difficulty Career mode until you win all 36 races in a season.

@@joshuapittman4663 while it takes some getting used to, I really enjoy the physics, even now and they’re almost 20 years old. The A.I. has its moments of ridiculous stupidity, but they’re the most realistic CPU I’ve ever seen in a NASCAR game.

@@johndavid3621 Idk, I’m used to Thunder 2003 and 2004 where the physics feel great to play with and the AI is smart to a greater extent rather than just sending the whole field flying around they’ll usually slow down when the track is blocked if they can.
