yeah, i remember i came onto his stream when he was doing the 100% charlotte race in his career, there was 6 to go, then he dnfed, i was devistated, thankfully he restarted that because well that was a pretty bullshittery finish if i say so myself

FUN FACT: turns 1 and 2 at Bristol are shorter than 3 and 4, meaning that you’ll be going faster out of 3 and 4 than 1 and 2. That’s why people always wreck at 1 and 2 but 3 and 4 are usually smoother

I've noticed that Bristol track map looked a bit asymmetrical, but I just thought that it was shown on the screen like it had a little perspective and wasn't perfectly top down. I've been a NASCAR fan for 21 of the 26 years I've been alive and never knew this

When I remember first playing this game pretty much all of my wins were from ending under caution or pretty much everybody not pitting due to a caution and running out of gas. I remember the Pepsi 400 were most of the pack ran out and ended under caution.

I did that in my first season at Talladega and was laughing my ass off when I realized what happened. IIRC, I spun and pitted ~lap 8 under caution but the AI stayed out. Another caution came out when a bunch of them ran out of fuel and I got the lead. We restarted 1 more time and they all ran out again since they still didnt pit but thankfully didnt cause another caution for a GWC and I snuck away with my first career win. I love how gloriously derpy NT 2004 is.

Adding tire pressure does actually aid in top speed (not a huge amount) since there's less rolling resistance. Acceleration on the other hand is a bit of a head-scratcher.

less tire pressure = larger contact patch = more grip = more acceleration It's why drag cars run such deflated tires

I've been trying to win the Daytona 500 first season I've been having a hard time

Decided to do my own version of this challenge (I'll make sure to update) Race 1/36 Daytona: Qualified 22nd, Finished 2nd behind Mark Martin after trying to fend off the hard charging Roush cars of Kenseth & Martin. Race 2/36 North Carolina: Qualified 31st, Finished 20th, accidentally gave Joe Nemechek a -60 on lap 1, spun out on lap 17/19 going into 3 while in 8th which sent me back to 25th place... Race 3/36 Las Vegas: Qualified 37th, Finished 41st, had a good run going for a top 20 finish until I got very loose into turn 1 on the final lap... Race 4/36 Atlanta: Qualified 31st, Finished 8th, very fun race, got a top 10 too. Race 5/36 Darlington: Qualified 43rd, Finished 42nd (DNF), cautions cautions cautions! Get your free cautions here!, Michael Waltrip had no talent while going into the pits on lap 7/14, causing him to DNF. DNF'd myself after lightly tapping the wall with my right rear quarter panel coming out of turn 2 on lap 13/14, causing my fuel cell to explode, my first DNF of the season.

Race 6/36 Bristol: Qualified 42nd, Finished 43rd (DNF), kept getting caught out by the AI braking into the corners way too early (I'm so used to playing on Veteran & Legend difficulty), causing me to spin into the turn 1/2 inside wall and my engine exploded, causing my second DNF of the season. Race 7/36 Texas: Qualified 23rd, Finished 6th, Pretty good race and a motivational boost for me and my crew ^^ Race 8/36 Talladega: Qualified 30th, Finished 1st, SWEET HOME ALABAMA! *Guitar riff* WHERE THE SKIES ARE SO BLUE!, Finally won my first race of the season after fending off a hard charging pair of Dale Jarrett and Kevin Harvick! Race 9/36 Martinsville: Qualified 27th, Finished 43rd (DNF), Third DNF of the season, this time caused by my poor exit coming out of turn 2... Race 10/36 California: Qualified 43rd, Finished 14th, Pretty fun race with Atlanta, nothing special to note about this one.

Race 11/36 Richmond: Qualified 40th, Finished 42nd (DNF), Pretty okay race until lap 18/20, was in the running for a top 15 finish until my car decided it didn't want to turn anymore and Kyle Petty getting into the back of me, causing me to spin out while coming out of turn 2, then on the restart while going into the final lap, I got slammed into the wall and my engine exploded. My fourth DNF of the season... The All Star Open (Exhibition Race): I decided to participate in this race for funsies. Before this race I decided to check out the points standings, Ricky Rudd was leading the championship with 1567 points, followed by Mark Martin in second with 1502 points (a 65 point difference). Meanwhile I sat down in 23rd with 1058 points, anyways, onto the race. Finished 21st out of 22 cars, bleh. Race 12/36 Charlotte/Lowe's: Qualified 43rd "GoOd ThInG wE hAvE pRoViSiOnAlS", Finished 43rd (DNF), would've been a much better race if Kyle Petty wasn't so pissed off with me, he spun me while coming out of turn 4, causing my fuel cell to explode thanks to Jeff Green slamming into the back of me while I was spinning out... My fifth DNF of the season... Race 13/36 Dover: Qualified 43rd, Finished 10th, a surprise top 10, I'll take it. Especially after the past few races. Race 14/36 Pocono: Qualified 43rd, Finished 40th, pretty okay race, was up in the mid pack of the field during the mid point of the race, unfortunately my car didn't want to work for the latter half of the race. Race 15/36 Michigan: Qualified 43rd, Finished 36th, was on a good run for a 25th place finish until Kyle Petty slammed into me on the final lap while going into turn 1, but I managed to save it and get a 36th place finish, at least it wasn't 43rd.

Update Darlington was garbage (qualified 43rd and finished 43rd after getting slammed into the wall by Sprague on the last lap causing me to DNF) Bristol was no fun (started 43rd finished 38th) Texas..DNF Went last to first at dega Martinsville started 28th finished 11th after a last lap pileup at the entrance to the pits
